On From Me to You Apr 1, 2023
As someone who loved the Kimi ni Todoke movie, manga and anime; I absolutely enjoy this take on Kimi ni Todoke. It's different, and that's what I was hoping for. As a Haruma Miura fan as well, I love and respect Ouji's take on Kazehaya. Ouji was just right for Horimiya for me and he's delivering here too. As I said, I was hoping for different-from-the-movie and Ouji is different but in a good way.
Minami did so well as Sawako, I am a little sad because some of the parts of the anime and the movie where she smiles aren't as highlighted. But I enjoy the fluidity Minami brings to Sawako's character. She also makes Sawako's softness seem so natural and not stiff.
My favourite character in all of the renditions has always been Sanada Ryu. Sakurai is doing amazing! I was hoping they kept his direct and blunt one-liners and Sakurai delivers our Ryu's lines well.
Kumada and Nakamura bring me Ayane and Chizu very well, I think this maybe my fave gal besties so far. I loved the movie's Ayane and Chizu just there seems to be more for the two girls. Which comes with the fact that a movie is much shorter than a full dorama.

Not a problem! I love the history of makeup and such. I'm from an Indigenous North American culture. And make up is huge for my peoples as well.

But I totally get it. Sometimes it's not well translated to be "period-wear" and it comes off as too modern for sure.

According to the summary above FL's supposed to be a "befallen " wealthy family, and in the republican era. Couldn't…
Actually--Nailpolish and manicures were a thing in China way before the Republican Era. Or even before Common Era. And extended manicures were created in the Ming Era (the 1300s). So they're not out of place really. And they generally were created with natural substances so they could (technically) have done them in the underclasses.

Just cool information! Sorry haha. I have a degree in Art History.

I'm sure it's not hard to get it. I did look it up, our Kindle is 28$CAD. So yeah. I'm with OP and you, although I have had to pay this much for a Kindle version it is rather expensive! (Though there are probably people who have translated it online).

Also thank you for the care reaction haha!

Laughs in pain.. in Canadian prices.

I'm ok. We're ok. We're fine. 19$ CAD for a paperback is a normal price for us. I have paid that for a short textbook PSD.
And I'm a Library Technician.

Edit: Meant this to be a reply to everyone in this strand!

I miss haruma 😩😩😩😩
This is definitely a favourite of Haruma's roles for me. I'm hoping Ouji does the part justice! I loved him in Horimiya.

A Movie Suggestion I have is "Classic" (Korean and Thai "Classic Again" would work. Since you seem to like older but golden dramas!), "Shanai Marriage Honey", "A Piece of Your Mind" if you like calmer dramas (TW: There are some dark elements), "Fanletter Please", "The Imperial Coroner" and maybe if you like good romances but don't mind some nerdy references/gamers in the mix: "Falling Into Your Smile" and "Love O2O"

No idea how this drama got such a high rating I don’t expect a lot from mini dramas however the story was ridiculous…
Me sweating in almost 32.

I have to say what caught me in this drama though was the costuming!

This show literally feels like i am reading a webtoon. It was an impressive 1st epi. ❀️
It is based off of one! I felt the same though, it's very reminiscent of its Webtoon roots.

Hyunjin has been proven completely innocent of these claims. Please do some research before you slander someone.…
Slander - the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.

Even so, if this is proven. There is an apology posted and the other party accepted it. There is no case behind this if this happened. Saying he is still an aggressor without any extra evidence is slander..
Edit: Not condoning any sort of violence. But I accept that Idols are people too and if news broke that something more happened and he didn't work to fix it. I would drop this like a fly. I accept being wrong in anything. I'm not all-knowing.

So, if we're going off of the fact that no company has ever "just made" their idols apologize even if they are innocent. (Here's to looking at Lucas for an instance. Who was not even in the country his accusations where in at that time and still apologizing to those people who made him go into a 2 year hiatus). We're talking about a classmate in middle school, in which Hyunjin attended an all-boys-school.

The student who accused him of hurting her has accepted the apology. Instead of allowing this to settle down with the understanding that there is agreement and acceptance between them.. Years after the accused incident. That Hyunjin even today beats and abuses women? Just because this incident maybe true, and if it is I totally will agree with the fact he messed up big time in his past, doesn't mean spreading the facts he is still a bully and he still hits and abuses people is not slander. It is slander against Hyunjin. You should really watch what you say on the internet. You're allowed to dislike someone for their past mistakes for sure, but just posting around this is bullying in its own.

This is coming from someone who loves EXO as well and was proud for a short time about a Chinese Canadian in the group. I myself have a few choice words about Kris Wu and I still keep them off the internet in case those words could come back at me. -- I was silent because I did research.

The Glory used the storyline he was accused of. JYP made him apologize, and he did so. He has not been proven guilty of any of the accusations. Just because Drama uses it though doesn't mean it's used well. If we want to get in the nitty-gritty and you want to talk about "Learning Korean" like that. Learn some information about the mental disorders used in the Kdrama. Learn about DID properly. You don't have to be rude and assume I don't know how to access information because I "don't know Korean".

Just buffering for anyone who tries to come at me: I believe 100% in cases of any sort when there is proof of the issue happening. I'm not just protecting Hyunjin because I am a Stay. Slander is a very heavy crime.

Also like Taiwanese Actors and their Dramas have a very "Dorama-Like" look to them. So Jeremy's role might just be helping us see the Dorama-lense! :>!

As a demisexual I am excited to see a gray-zone representative in a Dorama ; ;! I wonder if he's asexual or demisexual?
I'm not making an argument about which he is. It has been explained in an "about this drama" that he is asexual. I did say that I'm happy to see a grey-zone sexuality in media :)!
