K-Drama This review may contain spoilers
First of all, I think the premise is one of the drama's strongest points. The idea of two people sharing memories and feelings that only one of them can fully remember creates a particularly painful dynamic. Ji Mingxuan knows what they have experienced together, while Shen Mo is left trying to understand a relationship that feels unfamiliar to him. This imbalance makes their interactions even more compelling because the two characters are, in a way, living completely different versions of the same love story.
Ji Mingxuan is cold, controlling, and often difficult to understand, while Shen Mo is more reserved and emotionally vulnerable. Neither character is particularly good at communicating, and their inability to say what they truly feel leads to plenty of frustration. But, honestly, that is also part of what makes their dynamic so addictive. You can see how much is left unsaid between them, and sometimes their silences speak louder than their words.
Ji Mingxuan is a particularly interesting character because his actions and emotions often seem to contradict each other. He wants Shen Mo close, yet struggles to express his affection in a healthy and reassuring way. His possessiveness and controlling tendencies can certainly be frustrating, and their relationship is far from an idealized romance. However, there is something compelling about watching a character who seems to have control over everything except his own feelings.
Shen Mo, on the other hand, is a character who may test your patience at times. His insecurity, emotional fragility, and tendency to keep things to himself can make it difficult for him to recognize Ji Mingxuan's true intentions. His reactions are closely connected to his circumstances, and the emotional confusion surrounding his memories makes his position more complicated than it might initially appear.
The beginning may feel slow, especially because the drama reveals information gradually and relies heavily on atmosphere, expressions, and the characters' interactions. It requires a little patience, but the gradual revelations add depth to the central relationship.
If you enjoy complicated couples, possessive love interests, mutual pining, misunderstandings, and stories in which the emotional journey matters more than a perfectly constructed plot, this drama is definitely worth giving a chance. It might make you frustrated, it might break your heart a little, and you will probably find yourself wanting to shake the characters into telling each other the truth.
