Min Hyuk's sense of humour is perfect but seeing him ride a hoverboard makes me beyond annoyed. I must be symphatizing with Bong Soon who has to keep up with him.
This really messed up drama was enjoyable. I'd say that I liked the first half of the show way better than the second. Forced politics, plot twists, endless crying and speeches about a perfect nation, country and king were tiring but I really liked Ji Dwi and all of the side characters so I endured it skipping boring parts. The ending made me annoyed though.
As for the romance, the chemistry was there although only in the first eps and actually it was stronger between the second lead and the leading lady... I had sls for a moment. Later the main couple kissed a lot of times but it was all somehow emotionless.
Despite its flaws, this drama is quite nice but two eps a week was enough.
Just what have happened. They made Ji Dwi come back to being helpless puppy only dressed up like a king and Sun Woo became some kind of the leader of whole Hwarang all of sudden! I didn't expect a wonderful ending but why mess up Sam Maek Jong's character, he was my absolute favourite.
Because of the writers, I spent 60 minutes hoping for SMJ to show SW his place in a violent way. Especially the scene of SW acting disrespectful and brazen towards SMJ in Hwarang house and getting away with it made me extremely frustrated.

The two guys are in totally different positions. JD can't rule the country despite coming out as king so he naturally focuses mainly on how to take over power. Still, he wants to protect the powerless, it was shown quite a few times. SW got himself super duper strong allies who are able to make him the king. As for now, he doesn't need to put a lot of effort in the whole plan of getting rid of JD and taking his place- the old men are masterminds who will lead him and take care of everything themselves. So SW is thinking about being a perfect king who takes care of those in need.
And idk which one of them went through more. Being abadoned by your mother, constantly running away from assasins and seeing people die bc of you isn't nice.
I liked how Hansung's death was quick and out of the blue because that's how people go away irl. But seriously the speech at the end was so fake and awfully 'learn sth from this- it's a lesson' that I felt sick.
Just why did SMJ sneak into his greatest enemy bedroom and confessed about being a king? Like, the old man will just have to send assasins to SMJ instead of SW and it's game over. Other than that petty much nothing happened in eps 15&16 but I liked furious JD.
Kim Sung Ryong trying to smoothly take control over a conversation and Seo Yool being wary not to let him do that- I have lots of fun watching them talk.
