From what I've gathered about the novel, it's dark but very convoluted and messy plot imo. I don't like the leads/OTP, they're way too headstrong and much more temperamental from the bits I've read. I don't get why they wanna adapt it at all because many fans dislike the plot, so they revamped the characters to make them more likable and tweaked the plot so that it'd be more palatable, so yeah, why not start with a whole new story?

I enjoy cheesiness in my romance drama although I do agree too much get sickening, but this is somehow just right up my alley. I don't want Xue Zhi to be impregnated just yet lol. I just wanted to see more physical affections.

No, I have not seen that. The most sensual kisses I've seen are Mark Chao's on Eternal Love lol. It's a silly reason to break up over kiss scenes, after all they should be professional and separate between work and personal life. Basically VIP membership gives you an extra week compared to non-paying members, but now you have the option to unlock what should have been aired in coming weeks for a small fee, I'd say that's a fair trade.

I get you, I am very frustrated every time a day's episodes end and the misunderstanding is still not yet resolved, and Tou keep saying "I'm going to. I get the sense from your previous posts that your problem isn't really with the drama, rather with Yukee, note how you said every actor instead of character, and calling Yukee monkey-like professionalism and mediocre actress who will be reduced to second lead again soon (below and in Yukee's page). I have no problem with all of that tbh and it's your freedom to express distaste for a certain celebrity, your call. But, it's not your call to dictate what Mydramalist viewers' taste should be, or how they rate a work that they took the time to watch.

Pardon me, it's probably due to my lack of IQ as you call it, why are you willing to invest so much time and attention to this drama, 30 episodes of 40 minutes drama, basically 20 hours of your time, and the extra minutes that you spent to type your response everywhere for an actress that you have an aversion with? Any normal, sane person would have just moved on to other dramas and avoid the casts and crews they don't like. I.JUST.DON'T.GET.IT.

I think they've already done subbing the English though because they caught up with the episodes like 2 weeks ago. Alas, they're making viewers pay per episode on Chinese sites.

I'd totally subscribe the Chinese iQIYI and Tencent if I could because they're way cheaper than my current international subscription, although still cheaper than most streaming apps so can't really complain.

I just read on Weibo that the rest of the episodes are pay per view, 3RMB per episode, very cheap but still can't unlock due to Alipay.

I wasn't really gonna give up on this drama, but they have been testing my patience with the misunderstanding that has lasted for 10 episodes now. They were together for 2 episodes, that's it. WHY?

Actually, the first ten episodes were more like getting to know/denial stage for the OTP. The eleventh to the twentieth was about building up to this relationship. After that, everything just kind of fell apart for them, lol.

I don't really mind the back and forth about how Tou really loves Xue Zhi and the other way around, or how everyone can see it and support them, it is kind of sweet, and as much as romance troupe is aplenty in dramas, they're rarely this sweet, they're mostly just...romantic? tragic? heart-wrenching? They actually have a better term for this in Chinese, it's 撒糖, I can't find the exact word in English, it's something like spreading toothache? Heh, I'm bad with explaining expressions. I haven't seen this level of sweetness since...I can't remember, lol. That's the reason I'm still holding out for hope here.
