on a second thought: looking back at jk's lines so far with new eyes, i actually wouldn't be that surprised if he ends up being the stalker! his past lines can be interpreted in other ways if you think of him more as a threat than a cute second lead.

These shows are targeted at women, so their intention is to make the FL seem human and relatable so that most viewers can easily see themselves in her, while the ML's job is to be attractive to and attracted by the FL. The same thing happens in reverse in romantic content written by men.

i don't think it's the team leader, from the looks of it he's just going to be the love interest of mrs. ma. but i agree that it's not the flower shop owner either, this is just a trope to throw us off. could be jk since we don't really know a lot about him and he has started to be a little bit creepy lately and his past is sus, but i don't think it's going to be him either. probably a new character.

Regarding number 2, always keep in mind that not all autistic people are the same, not everyone will have the same kind of sensorial sensitivity issues, or even sensory issues at all. Also pertinent to number 4.
Regarding number 1 and 3, I think that was kind of the point, to show just how ignorant people can be about autism and unfortunately it's a thing neurodivergent people have to deal with IRL. A lot of people still hold those misconceptions to this day.
About the comparisons with the remakes, you have to keep in mind that this show was made in 2013, we have learned and keep learning a lot about ASD since then, and awareness to general public have achieved greater levels.

I don't think they are blood related. It was said multiple times that watchmen are the shadow of the royals. The old man had a joking tone, to me it seemed like a play on addressing the shadow of royalty, hence why he used honorifics. It seems to be why the SY took it humorously when the old man said it as well. If he was real royalty the old man wouldn't have dared to look him the eye and joke around like that.
I still think about this drama from time to time and still reference it when talking to friends about historical dramas! All the little side stories have a special place in my heart.

Good question! It's a bit of a class-within-a-class thing. They are all yangban (upper class), but within yangban, there are two subclasses: munban and muban. Munban take the literary exams (mungwa) to become bureaucratic government officials. Muban take the military exams (mugwa) to become hands-on military officials.
By the second half of the Joseon dynasty, mostly due to corruption, there was a bit of a segregation in that people from very powerful families in the capitals went on to become civil officers (munban) and the only hope left for people from the provincial families was to become a military officer (muban).
In this drama, you see that the silky-dressed scholars are preparing for the literary exam, while the more toned down-dressers are taking the military exam. This kinda illustrates this class divide, the people taking the mungwa are from more powerful/rich families from the capital, while the people taking the mugwa are from less influential families from the provinces.
The context is that silk was prohibitively expensive and most easily available in the capital, since it was usually imported from Ming (modern day China) and most imports ended there, and also just for a question of who can afford it, and it's usually only the very rich, who happen to reside in the capital.
I suspect there might have been a side of practicality too, as military training is a messy business and your clothes are more likely to become dirty/stained/ruined, so it only makes sense to use darker colors and more easily replaceable materials. But this one is just guessing.
I wasn't expecting quality in the first place and it's not like we got it either, the romance scenes are shoddily done, feel rushed and have questionable OST choices, BUT... I find myself so entertained and enticed that I don't even care! I might even pick up the novel to experience this myself instead of through this director's lens, to really let it sit and simmer. Either way, loving the story so far!
