No worries. Whatever your opinion is I respect it but I thought I needed to clarify some things because it could be due to bad subbing. Hopefully she will grow some backbone and stand up for him. It’s already so obvious he treats her differently. No man who doesn’t love his wife will go all out for her family.

I think you missed the part. He didn’t let her go out of spite. He initially thought that she was choosing the clothes for herself but she was choosing for her friend as she was borrowing her clothes while she’s residing in the Shen residence.She told ML that her clothes were quite plain and wasn’t sure her friend will like it. I don’t know if the subs were that bad that cause misinterpretation because I can speak Mandarin. So perhaps that’s why what you interpreted and what I interpret from the same scene will be different.
I get where you are coming from regarding the temple meeting. However she quickly set it straight with the guy.
She did tell her friend that she wasn’t interested in the other men but she wasn’t firm enough. That I totally agree with you.
She should be firm with her friend especially after her husband chase her out of their bedroom. Her friend has no respect for her host, talking about him as though he’s almost dead and insisting FL eat with her. She is not a friend I would want as my BF.

Were you watching the episode when it had bad subs?

She clearly didn't want to leave him but he said since it's a girls/sister outing she should go and not worry about him because there are people around in the mansion. She wasn't thinking of leaving him. She thought that he wanted her gone when the time is up.

She went with her BF not knowing what her friend has planned for her. She never had any intention to cheat on him whether their relationship/marriage is fake or not. If you couldn't understand the subs properly, just look at her expression when she saw the other guys and how her friend exclaimed "What a coincidence" when she was the one who planned it. She was surprised and turned to her friend.

Also, she doesn't know where she stands with him. When it comes to man and romance she's clueless. Girls at that age and during that era will not just go up and confess to the guy that she likes him especially when he has a cold disposition . Even when he's got his arm around her shoulder or when he's so close to her, she doesn't know his motive. When it comes to man and romance she's clueless. She only knows to interpret clues for her cases.

Her mistake is that she mention about divorce in front of other people which is wrong of her.

Agree with that whether people respect her husband is also depending on how she speaks of him and whether she stands up for him. She still has room for character development as she's very young.

That's my take on this.

I don't think that FL is as you portrayed
She did not "interact" with other men in the way you implied. She has no romantic ideas in mind.
When her BF suggested a candidate for her to remarry she clarified with him that she only ever consider him as an older brother and he only treats her as a younger sister, No more than that. You need to understand in Chinese culture that it is very common to consider an older male your older brother.
As for Pan Chi she thought he was a she. She even bought a hairpin that is for a female not a male. Her association with him is purely work related.
I don't think any of her actions indicate that she treated ML as an "animal." In the beginning she mentioned divorce which is what they have agreed on. She knew that her mentioning it impulsively especially in public is wrong so she worked on it and I haven't heard it brought up again . These are not abuse and she did not cuckold him otherwise you will see green leaves falling on his head or ML dressed in green hat ( figuratively , when a man is cuckolded).

I think it’s the editing. I understand Mandarin as well so it must be the poor editing. The subs are bad but we can still understand because although the words sound similar because we can understand the meaning given the context that it was used.
