Very very interesting movie imo. It's got a clever refreshing take on things. I liked it's originality. Halfway through it you start figuring out what what exactly is going on because they gradually start giving out clues, and this is where things got really good.
Good movie, though everything still feels Japanese. I say that because these days no Korean High school themed dramas or movies are this light. The Korean teens' lives portrayed are all usually very serious, dark, heavy, and mature, in contrast to most Japanese school shows. So I kind of liked that they're being "kids" like how kids and teens are ideally supposed to be, i guess.
Lol. Tiring to be the ML. He kept vomiting blood the WHOLE ENTIRE DRAMA. π That's pretty much the only memorable thing for me. That and I realize these short drama writers tend to make the antagonists just go mad everytime their evil plans don't work out in the endπ
Lols. Was curious as to just how bad this was, so I actually watched everything. π In conclusion: super trashy drama with trashy characters all over, across all mains and sides. They seem to all be bad and dumb, Especially the dumb FL, like so unbelievably dumb, that I have no sympathy for her. It's a miracle she's still alive, but she can be miserable for all i careπ i wish the ML would care for someone else. The only good character is the ML, but even for the most part except a few eps before end, he seems to be just like a side character. Then ep 21 suddenly have everyone break character in the name of patriotic importance, which Ofcourse has to be slipped in there in every cdrama. π
I actually like this genre, and although this wasn't that exciting to watch for me (2x speed was still slow and the way they kept having a "foreign" guy speak in a stuttering jerky mandarin was annoying) there's one good thing I've found after a few eps in. This was perfect as background noise! π. I don't understand mandarin and usually have to concentrate reading subtitles, but was always looking for something i'm able watch while i do other things, and hey this actually fit the bill! Lols
I know nothing of the webtoon but by ep 2 i was wondering why anyone would watch this. Great acting aside, i really thought the whole story was pointless and lost interest by ep 4. Not sure if i wanna continue or drop this.
Why would they find a FL thats 19 years OLDER than him to play this role? It makes it so odd and hard to watch.
Oh, interesting info. But they're all adults. It may be hard for you, but not others. Real world can be even stranger.
Also, isn't that what is required in the actual story? I gather from the synopsis that FL financially supports ML so he can further his studies. She'd have to be that old to be in a position to emotionally and financially be able to want and able to do that. Seeing how older adults gets cast to play high schoolers pretty much always these days, I think it's great they picked an age-appropriate actress for the character.
I mean, we all get old, you'll be 43 yrs old too someday. When that day comes and, say, the same drama plot happens to you, wouldn't you be likely to accept something as good as love coming your way in that position? even if that is in the form of a younger guy.
Well this may be a good drama, but I've had enough of the foulness of it all. Feels like everything I watch is the same kind of negativity filled thing these days.
I actually like the actress Kawaguchi Haruna, but her role in this really made me hate her character to bits. Lol. In addition I see the actor Yokoyama Yu, and that only adds more dislike because I remembered him as the human garbage husband in the jdrama remake of Marry My Husband.
It's like a bunch of more added stress on top of an already stressful real life, so I'm going to pass on this one this time. Maybe another time. Right now I want something light and uplighting in my life.
Man I'm only halfway through the series and i just have to say, my God, our innocent mains are just surrounded by vile horrible people everywhere around them it seems!
Tbh, the real key character is JinSoBaek. The whole story wouldn't be possible without him, seriously π. But the story of how they chose to introduce the character of JSB to EunSu was rather odd and hard to believe, imo. π€·π»ββοΈ But it's fiction so I guess I'll go along with it.
