more than just a rom com
Based on the trailer I thought this would just be your run of the mill rom com / melo that’s runs around the ML and FL and all the ups and downs in their relationship but this was so much more than I’d expected, the plot twists were so well done and incorporated seamlessly into the whole story. The cinematography was outstanding, as you’d expect in a drama that’s about film - my favourite scene has to be when the ML and FL start mirroring the actions of the actors on screen behind them (that episode during the movie night in the forest), but there are so many little things like this all throughout the drama that will catch your eye. The supporting characters had a lot of depth, my favourite character was definitely the ML’s brother and I appreciate the depth and sensitivity that went into telling his story and how that was woven into the whole plot. On the topic of side characters I will say I found the second couple a bit lacking, I felt like they didn’t have much chemistry and their story was a bit rushed towards the end. But otherwise every character was so well developed, the cast, plot, characters, cinematography, soundtrack, everything was so well done and came together beautifully. I was expecting just romance but this was about love in every sense of the word - Mubee’s definition of a melo is the perfect way to define what this drama is. 100/10 would recommend if you want something that will touch your heart, make you laugh, make you cry and teach you about life.
