The way I understand it - the fact that she is alive in the present is the proof for him that he will be able to go back to that moment in the past and save her.
And knowing this, gives him hope that he will be happy again. Going back to the day of fire and not being able to save anyone has caused him great misery, making him fall in depression. And now he has hope.

I wouldn't call it a love triangle, basically ML's dad has a teenage crush on a girl (Se Kyeong), who is not ML's mother. That girl doesn't like him back. ML's mother has feelings for ML's father, and he starts developing feelings for the mom once he starts to get to know her. They are endgame regardless. It is a happy ending.
The son also gets a love interest and a happy ending, and there is also a tiny love triangle involved in that, but it's hard to explain without spoiling too much of the story.

Don’t get me wrong I love this drama and I am rooting for Mok Ha. But her character and demeanor are so inconsistent with her past self when she was already mature and my expectations for someone who survived on a whole island by herself for 15 years (which would be eve more mature, tough, fearless and wary version of her past self). Instead, she is giving mannerisms of Woo Yeon Woo, how?
Just to compare, Ki Ho now and as a kid are really similar, the way they talk, facial expressions, he truly seems like a matured version of himself.
I just wish to see the same in FL, because it’s making it hard for me to connect her to her past self :(

Guys I can’t watch the episode today but reading the sad comments and going crazy. Can anyone please reply me with a spoiler tag - what happened in ep 15 ending - is it 100% confirmed in the future or there is still hope that things will turn out not as bad as we feared.

This might go down as the most underrated drama in history imo 🤣

I’ve seen him in at least three dramas before over the years but I fell in LOVE after Behind Your Touch. I realize it’s because of the character he portrayed and that made me think - damn, he is so versatile, never the same in his dramas - up to tone of his voice, his mannerisms, his laugh, his eyes!! Such a good actor ❤️

It’s not a slow burn romance, but a slow burn relationship - as they go from disliking each other to completely relying on each other, and understanding without words.
ML softens towards the FL a lot, recognizing he has feelings for her towards end of drama, but never expresses them to her directly because he is A. Awkward, B. Thinks she has a crush on someone else, C. Too overwhelmed with the crime solving. He does show care for her but always covers it up with an excuse as he has reservations.
FL does not show any signs of romantic attraction to ML until end of last episode. Which makes sense as she couldn’t view him in this light during the series because she is A. Thinks he is emotionless, cold and basically cannot talk to a woman :), B. Has a crush on 2ML (but if you ask me, it seemed just as distraction among all the chaos, and 2ML was the only good looking AND nice guy around), C. Too busy with crime solving and constant chase with the ML.
Once all the murder plot is solved and main leads had time to reflect, romantic feelings naturally start coming out to surface. Departure of ML triggers the realization in FL as in her heart there is definitely a gap without him around that can’t be filled with anyone else. When ML sees that, he drops his own reservations as well. This is what we see in the last episode.
I absolutely adore this development between them and wouldn’t have it any other way. But it will be great to have season 2 with them solving crimes while also being in a relationship. It would be so fun :)

The ratings here are SO not representative of the drama (judging on MDL scale) , it easily deserves more like 8.5+. Or maybe I am biased, since I loved it so much. Idk, does anyone else agree?

Last episode combined everything I loved about this show - the crime solving duo dynamic, the justice served, Detective Moon thuggish detective scenes, the animal stories, and the romance for all couples ❤️ I want seasons 2 so badly, they have a potential!

Before the drama finishes this week, can I say that this was a wild ride, all the weekly discussions, crazy theories had me hooked. After ep14 we still have no idea who the murderer is and I don’t trust the obvious assumptions anymore because these writers are honestly crazy. Expecting the unexpected.
Despite even all frustrations I’ve had, to me the writers are brilliant! They do what it takes to raise the suspense levels to the max regarding everything - relationships and investigation.
I never ask this on here but please rate the drama based on your opinion, I know so many people are invested in this and wish to see mdl ratings reflecting it ❤️

Yes I understand what you mean. In classic time travel it is the body of the person that is traveling to another timeline. In that case you can easily meed younger/older version of you. In this drama, only their souls are traveling to the posses bodies. So meeting another version of them is possible only because there are two bodies - theirs and the lookalike. For example, Jun hee in Min ju could easily meed an 11 year version of herself when she was back 1998. Because there are two bodies existing in parallel until one of the body dies.

This was a good drama, actors were phenomenal and looked great together. I admit I was crying so hard when I watched the original - the ost and atmosphere were real tear jerker. This time I did not feel much of emotional connection but tbh I think it’s because I was waiting for them to change something in a storyline and surprise me but 90% of scenes were almost exactly the same. Nevertheless, I mostly recommend it to those who have not seen the original

My feeling is that this drama deserves a higher rating - this might be subjective but I can see from reviews that overwhelming majority of viewers enjoy it a lot and agree that it keeps getting better and better. This drama perfectly balances suspense and comedy, has great acting and music. The chemistry between leads is amazing, their relationship is developing very organically. As someone who picks their dramas based on mdl ratings, I’d be sad to miss out on this one. Glad that I started watching it accidentally on Netflix! :)

No break ups :) their relationship only gets stronger

No break ups. Misunderstandings are tiny and don’t affect their relationship. The couple gets progressively stronger from beginning to the end without set backs.
