Is ep 16 gonna air immediately after ep 15 or is there gonna be a break in between of a few hours? I wanna watch it in one sitting but also as soon as possible ( /o_o) /
I know based off the pre-released character descriptions that Soo Ho's actual name is supposedly Rim (Lim?) Tae San, but has that been mentioned in the show yet? I've heard his "dad" call him Soo-hyeok so I'm wondering if they've mentioned him being Tae-San yet and if I just missed it.
Can we at least get "One Way Ticket" in the final ep? There's no way we'd get 3 references towards the beginning of the show to just then forget about the iconic song. 😭
all the comments are hating but i actually still am really into the show and love most of the characters.....…
I'm really loving the show still. I didn't come here for the romance, I came here cause it was NK/SK conflicts, director-screenwriter pair, and the historical fiction (the cast and romance is a bonus, although not gonna lie I love Hae-in's acting). This drama to me is as real as it gets because it shows that nothing is really easy. Sure it may seem repetitive to some, but what were they gonna do, be superheroes and save everyone in an unrealistic way? It's only right to display the characters how they are, their actions, the situation, etc.
I hope the Soo Ho recorded tape is not a sad version, but funny like they did in SITR when Jun Hee plays the recorded…
I think it might be a sad ending, too.
As much as they say everything is fictitious in this drama, I do believe it's inspired by some real event to some extent (i.e Hosu University is apparently based off of Ehwa Women's University... even the setting is in the mountain).
So it brings this to my attention :"Adapted from the handwritten notes of a man who escaped from a political prison camp in North Korea"
If he doesn't die, maybe he ends up in a political prison camp
He never had any choice, if he wanted to complete his mission and keep himself, his comrades, and their families…
I remember reading the character descriptions/backgrounds released before the drama aired (and it was a rough translation to English so bear with me, I'm marking this as a spoiler)...
Apparently SooHo's parents had separated due to hardships or something and the parent that he was with got him to become a soldier and train, kind of like forcing their ideology onto their son? I think? Again rough translation and I'm trying to remember off the top of my head, and how in depth will we go into his parents, I guess we have yet to see that since we have only been introduced to his "father", whether it's his biological or step father.
I feel like the sacrifice though would be poor screenwriting cause that would be an expected "redemption."I'm…
True, I agree. I didn't say that his goal was to go back to the North, but to complete the mission by rendezvousing at the boat to successfully take back Professor Han (which he found out that didn't work out), but he's too deep to casually back out of this whole thing.
I've seen quite a good amount of dramas with him in it and this character was different from what he usually plays as! Because This Is My First Life and So I Married an Anti Fan are a couple of his works
Hae In is a good actor no doubt but I seriously dislike Soo Ho as a character. I mean here's a guy who pointed…

I'm not a screenwriter so I can't say what's right or wrong, or what's best or not, but they have portrayed Soo Ho's character really well and I actually like him. It shows that he's dedicated to his country and loyal to it, wanting to complete his mission and get it over with. He likes Youngro (he gave his necklace to her when we know how precious it is to him), but probably wasn't expecting things to play out like this. He also probably wasn't expecting the hostage situation to last long and only be like a one day thing since they had to rendezvous on the boat, hence it was easier for him to put up this cold front and neglect the fact he likes Youngro.
However, as days pass now with the whole situation, he's starting to feel bad about the ordeal (hostage situation wasn't even in their plan to begin with, he's human after all). So it's obvious it's gonna hurt him more seeing Youngro like that as days go by (as Gangmu said, it's not wrong to love someone who saved you).
Redemption could be either flipping sides or working hand-in-hand with Gangmu... idk we'll see but I don't think killing him off as a sacrifice would be a suitable ending.
The best plot twist rn would be that Hyunseung wanted to take Jia to Paradise not only because he knows her, but BECAUSE he knows her, he'll have someone to talk to about Yeawon.
That probably isn't the case, but the guy looked so in love after talking with Yeawon that he couldn't even have a proper conversation with Soyeon to the point that his eyes were fixed on her and also he kept saying how Yeawon's pretty and charming to Soyeon. There really wasn't any chemistry between Jia and Hyunseung on the yacht date so....
I have so much to say for the latest episode. Istg I’m going to sue these people for marketing this as a “Romance”…
To be fair though, I knew the drama was gonna be more of a melodrama political thriller (the whole tension and hostage situation to me is a thriller) based on the trailers and teasers. The first couple of teasers started off cute then each progressively started adding an element alluding to what we're seeing now (one showing Sooho listening to Youngro's tape looking distraught and tense, and the other showing Youngro holding a gun to Sooho saying "you don't know who I am" if irc).
Then we finally got the last trailer and highlight trailer, both showing a lot less romance and more thriller action scenes (pretty much clips mainly related to the entire hostage ordeal). Hence I feel like the trailer did progressively portray what we are to expect. I would be lying if I said that I didn't expect more romance before we got to this whole hostage situation and thought these scenes would come much later in the drama, but I do really like how everything is progressing thus far.
Yeah the story was also different, the first synopsis was 'Its about a man who escapes North Korea and finds shelter…
I also remember the first synopsis and that's what made me want to watch it (besides the stellar cast of course). Regardless, I'm still going to watch it because maybe that point of the story is still included in the drama? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
it's not one anonymous friend but multiple, from both sides too (KSH's and his Ex's)
Yeah I agree with you on that, it may seem that way when only backers from one side show up.
