i just can't take Zhang Vin's seriously with the dubbing, eyebrow makeup, and his flat expression/glare in this drama.......... why oh why.. and once again a drama about a paranoid, love struck, crazy? king who's gonna have crazy, scheming consorts.. idk how even their "chemistry" can save this drama for 48 episodes honestly..
I just can't watch this drama for some reason, tried 3x alrd... I read the novel a few times and love love love it so maybe it's the high expectations that let me down. I also find Yang mi and March chao so damn awkward for the role, but that's just me lol anyway, i still can't understand where the hype and good rating is from???
uhmm on episode 26 and jesus christ I need to get this off my chest. Everything is good with the storyline and characters. BUT holly shiett Boji is so annoying like she has no character progression at all even after all that she's been through. EVEN after so many deaths in her family, her almost getting raped and being slapped by her brother many times and yet she's still as immature and stubborn as ever. like her level of foolishness is beyond me at this point that I just want to plead the directors to just add a little bit of maturity in her character please T.T
i like this more than i thought i would. the main couple story is quite a mess, and lin yuan doesn't bring ye zhen's character to justice. I actually like her character in the book, but her acting is lacking depth. I also can't stand kevin's blue hair, WHY MUST THEY DO THAT TO HIM. can't really focus on his acting, because i'm so disturbed by the styling of his character. so i would say that if you skip most of the main couple's story, you'll get a great romance story out of this drama
and yes like many others, rong yuan and ying ge's couple is soo touching :'( but i also like son ning's story arc, even though it's extremellyy frustrating and heartbreaking. you feel soooo sory for her character and once again, jiang xin and yuan hong have proven themselves as great actors.
can't believe i finish watching this drama(After skipping so many scenes) :') I really really dont feel anything for the 4 main characters here especially gao yue and JIN TIAN MING. He is such a freaking liability that you just want him dead lol ( I know many others feel that way too )The most interesting characters here are indeed the bad guys, chillian, king of chu, and wei zhuang.
this drama is indeed a pleasant surprise. It has a nice balance of comedy, melancholic elements, and suspense. The acting is good too, considering they are pretty new.

omg me too the struggle is real, i've been picking up and dropping this drama for 5x alrdy. and i completely agree with you about the main girl, something about her irks me so damn much (too much act cute) and honestly Wallace really doesn't suit long hair wuxia haircuts >.<
Just by looking at the cast, the one that can really portray the complexity of bbjx is probably only LJG honestly, and yet I still think he won't be the perfect cast for 4th prince. I love IU, she's really pretty, but not for Ruoxi omg WHY Why can't they cast some more experienced actress for the main lead?!?! like are they trying to get more popularity or higher rating or something? This seems more like an idol drama(boys over flower style) using the name of bbjx and probably will just be a superficial story of all the princes liking Ruoxi. I feel like the chinese bbjx is much more than that..... I just hope they will do it justice....
