I am relieved to know that there is someone else who feels the way I do about this series. Was it perfect? No…
I hear you. I actually looked forward to this one every week and I always felt like I was hanging on the edge of my seat at the end of each episode "what's going to happen next??" I was here for the shenanigans these two created for each other and the other pairings were entertaining to me too. Honestly, no drama series is perfect and a series will never please every single person (nor should it; I see it as art). Let's just find what we like and enjoy it and not worry about everyone else's opinions lol.
I did like it. But honestly I think I get with these reviews is it's often down to personal preferences. I absolutely hated some BL dramas that are rated 7.5 or 8 and higher and have dropped them.
This one isn't rated very highly but I really enjoyed it; I loved the action sequences and there was enough of a thread throughout that I wasn't totally confused about what was going on or why (for the most part). Dynamic scenes kinda made up for some weaker plot points in my opinion.
I also did not find this drama boring in any way and I've watched some REALLY boring BL dramas recently. Day and Itt are so reactive and dramatic about everything so I laughed quite a bit throughout.
I also liked the last episode because honestly, I needed some more joy from this. Everything felt very dramatic and heavy and I left the last episode feeling good.
I found Love Syndrome entertaining overall and with people saying how it's showing unhealthy relationships – honestly I don't take any drama series relationships into consideration when it comes to modelling relationships I would want to have in my own life obviously. Dramas are entertainment pure and simple.
I have such a push-pull (do I like it? do I hate it?) feeling with this show. I find it really slow tbh and while some of it is good, I'm not sure about continuing to watch at this point. I get the point of the build up, but there's a lot about this show I can't be bothered to wade through.
I found it rather confusing. The spicy BL scenes were lovely. Maybe it was the version I found, but some of the scenes felt really rushed and I'm still not sure how Gitae got involved in the mob to begin with and why Chisoo was his mission or any of that. Overall tho, I enjoy this kind of genre where they have cool action and fighting sequences and there aren't tons of them like there are in the school genre so I appreciated this for that reason too.
I hadn't watched this til yesterday. It was really really good. Not perfect but Mos and Bank were so good – good acting and chemistry. I cried every time Bank's character cried.
This was excellent but also very angsty in places. I loved episode 9 and episode 10 also was pretty satisfying. The whole story really took me for an emotional roller coaster ride and we got a happily ever after (thank god, I genuinely worry about that with BL K-dramas!).
I loved the acting of the two main leads overall. They had great chemistry in my opinion. Gooooood kiss scenes! The supporting characters were good too.
Eun Ji was hella annoying but she added to the tension of the story and the actress played her part well.
I’m sorry but I can’t believe the guy who got mad at Pat for calling out Ying for making him do her job. He…
I agree. Her self-entitlement and manipulative behaviour to get Pat to do everything for her is hella cringe. I think Pat would probably stand up for himself if he wasn't still looking for some form of approval from her though.
Listening to Jeng give Pat advice, I don't think he was being unreasonable at all. That's what it's like when you work for a company, same with the gossip mill that evolves from those kinds of environments. Not everyone's cut out for a work culture like that.
I can see Pat's point of view though because it IS overwhelming when you're fresh out of school and learning how to adapt to such a critical work environment. If I were Pat, I'd probably reassess if this kind of job was for me and also talk to a therapist or coach (not while drinking though lol).
There's a lot of things Pat could do that would help but of course that's another thing that happens when you're young; you think you can handle it all and you feel like you have to prove yourself rather than get the support you need to navigate your life better and take constructive criticism without making it personal.
I did watch through them but it just felt sooo incomplete. They had their hot night and then I guess they met up (implied by the passport) but I wish there had been a proper scene of them reconnecting done not just exposition.
So cute! Already one episode in and I love the main leads but omg Ying is sooo annoying and relatable (I think everyone has known someone who's like that at work or school lol).
I'm enjoying this a lot! It's so different to a lot of BL dramas and kinda runs in a similar vain to KinnPorshe in terms of action, violence, suspense, and a bit of mystery. The music is really fun and exciting too. I really appreciate that there's another BL drama in a suspense/action/thriller sort of genre.
It was a cute one. I didn't love the loose ends left kind of dangling – there's definitely potential to pick up some of those. It was really fluffy and sweet. I loved both Ai's and Nhai's families. Jaonan and Sib's relationship was kind of adorable. I watched the series with this lightness of not expecting too much and I enjoyed it. Oh and the special episode was enjoyable.
