In the ending of season 1, Kim Hee-woo breaks down everything about Cho Tae-seop. Cho Tae-seop disguised himself as a suicide and escaped, but was eventually killed by Hee-woo in China. And Hee-woo donates all his assets to society and leaves the political world and lives normally with his wife.

In season 2, Hee-woo returns as a lawyer to investigate the death of a lawyer who was a friend and becomes a member of the National Assembly to break down another big shot, which is a bit more political than season 1.

According to one staff posted on his IG several days ago, they are still halfway filming. Considering they start filming since August 2022 I guess they still need at least 5-6 months to finish. And they use many green screens. Lots of green screens means lots of cgi to do that's why the air date is still unannounced and in later half of the year

When first casting news out in April 2022 its understandable, the shock and disappointment. But almost a year since first casting news. SJK and KJW already move on and have their own projects now but their fans still trapped in the past. I dont want to say this but how arrogant of them to think only SJK and KJW can play the role while no comparison yet.

the reason for long wait because of covid, not because they want to replace SJK and KJW. learn your fact first. They already planned for season 2 since 2019. Unfortunately when they can continue, the original actors unable to continue and decided to dropped out from drama.

Even after almost a year, old AC1 fans still throwing tantrum and I believe that's the reason SD keep their mouth shut now. Almost no info about AC2 at all...and in today's swoon's post no mention about AC2 in their 2023 lineup.

The hate new casts get for being replacement for old casts who left already too much. I can understand why so little info about season 2 until now from SD, always the same hate and curse from old fans everytime any news about season 2 out. Anyway, season 2 will pick up from animated epilog at the end of season 1, big war between Ago and Arth. The reason they chose KKS as new director and (maybe) the reason they chose LJG as replacement, we know he does his own action scenes and excel in martial arts.

Of course you will expect the upgrade version for the latest release of similar theme drama right? While this drama sure not a masterpiece but i love it for explored JG action skills ability lol.

An article (2022/11/23) reports that Arthdal Chronicles, the MMORPG Game, is set to release in the second half of next year in line with the premiere of the drama’s Season 2.

In presscon and script reading video director and actors already explained that this drama is melo in the nutshell, with 80% melodrama/romance 20% thriller and love story is the core of this show. for those who expect pure thriller might not gonna enjoy it.

There is no accountant for taste.

Just because they chose to follow original novel and you dislike it doesn't mean they made wrong choice.
The fact is only several international kdrama watchers dislike the ending and the reason mostly because its different from webtoon ( while webtoon itself also adaption from novel 🤪). Korean watchers in general like it and wish for season 2.

Declined, dropped out, weren't available are the same thing. because they can't do season 2 they decided to drop out and/or decline the offer.

Before webtoon and drama, the original source of this drama was web novel. And the drama following the ending of novel ( webtoon has different ending and omitted romance). Novel has season 2, and those new villains at the end of this drama were the villain in season 2 novel. Since none translated the novel yet and most international fans only familiar with webtoon version, not wonder they complained with the ending while korean viewers in general satisfied with it. Also at the end of novel (season 1), heewoo and heeah got married and waited for their first child.

This drama like JG said himself is a popcorn drama, not heavy, satisfying and doesn't required to think much with straightforward story plus many entertaining action scenes. I didn't watch RR so I can't give comment but I understand if they prefer RR than AML, makjang-ish drama usually more popular than other kind of drama.
Also those who complained about AML mostly compared AML with the masterpiece Flower of Evil😂

I like both FOE and AML but same as you I like the lighthearted and satisfaction feeling AML gave me and for sure will rewatch it if I want some light entertainment.
