OMG ILOVE that they chose two people from different cultures! I love the cross-cultural experiences this TV series showcases. I was reminded of my travel buddy during my university years. I studied abroad and traveled with a Japanese girl around Europe. Neither of us spoke each other's language fluently, but we somehow managed to have a good time together. I loved the yoga activity the most in ep. 3! That was too funny!! Also, I'm making my list guys! I wanna travel to these places once COVID is done. I'd never even heard of some of these places before!
Just stating my opinion with the “hidden gem” part which I’m entitled to. Lol~ And FYI my friends who are into dramas like myself hadn’t heard of it either because we are exposed to stuff on Netflix and mostly Korean dramas as they are more popular. So I’d say it’s a “hidden gem” for those who aren’t exposed to J-dramas as much in their network of friends or what they get exposed to online. Thanks for the recommendation! If you have any other J-drama recommendations, I’m open to finding out more as I don’t come across them easily.
This show was amazing! I honestly think Netflix should put more Japanese dramas like this one. The story line was gripping right from the first episode. Each episode was moving and interesting because the story was well thought out. The 8th episode's story had me crying like a baby... lol! I loved the entire cast and the acting was spectacular. This was one of those hidden gem dramas. Glad I came across it.
I really liked the OST and acting in this drama. I just love Ji Sung so I definitely am biased in that way. I'm so glad they didn't have him along side Hwang Jungeum. Han Jimin's acting is so much better. Overall, I found this drama to be kind of repetitive. I found myself skipping through some of the second part of the story. Hands down my favourite part was the proposal! That was definitely innovative!
I'm so glad this show was wrapped up well. I felt the end was a little rushed and I was worried they would leave us hanging due to the scramble to put the last episode together. I think they could have cut out some stuff from previous episodes so the last one wasn't so rushed.
I had to watch this show after seeing that it beat Signal which has been one my my all time favourite dramas since it came out in 2016. I haven't finished it yet, but as others have said IU is doing a fantastic job of Lee Ji Ahn! I used to really dislike her acting but I guess it was the roles she took on in previous dramas that were problematic. I haven't finished the show, but I find too much screen time is focused on the youngest brother's love story. I really want to see more of Do Joon Young and Park Dong Hoon's past (not them just talking about it, but more like flashbacks to their university years and initial years at the company).
