This movie is very violent compared to what I thought it would be like but very well done. I started watching this movie for Toma and fell more in love with him after it. He's such a great actor. You can see how versatile he is if you compare this movie to "Hanazakari no Kimitachie" (J-drama) because he has a comical role there. He's able to pull of perfect acting no matter what role he's thrown into. One of the best J-actors you'll see in J-cinema! <3

My favourite scene was when Toma had to take his shirt off for the physical exam! XD

Reading all the comments here, I guess I'm not the only one who has become disappointed as the show progressed. From about ep 9 or so I kept telling my friend this is getting wayyyyy tooo complicated and the writers won't be able to undo all the knots they are tying. Sadly... she didn't believe me. This drama started off as a 10/10 but with so many complications, unresolved portions of the show or underdeveloped parts of the story, this has dropped to an 8/10 for me. I wonder what my final verdict will be after ep 16 airs next week.

The only character that seems to understand us viewers and is able to express our feelings to the characters is Park Min Soo - the lead surgeon, aka Yeon Joo's boss! XDDDD
On Okaasan, Ore wa Daijoubu Sep 9, 2016
I've watched "Kyo no Hi wa Sayonara" and "Boku no Ita Jikan." All three story lines are similar in that the main character (a young man in all three cases) is dying and you see how the character, their family, and their friends come together to help the character through this difficult time. In all three stories it's pretty obvious right from the start that the main character is about to die.
However, I feel like something major is missing in the storyline of "Okaasan, Ore wa Daijoubu." I can't put my finger on it.. but something is missing. The lack of character development, the overly perfect family, and the somewhat poor acting on Yamada Ryosuke's part didn't help. I've seen Ryosuke pull off better acting in other shows than he did in this movie. In some scenes it was so obvious he was actually able to move his leg but was "acting" like he was struggling.

I think Ohno and Miura Haruma pulled off their roles as "dying" characters a lot better. I cried so much watching "Boku no Ita Jikan" and "Kyo no Hi wa Sayonara," but didn't cry even once during this movie.

Not bad but there were some very long speeches during some parts. Just skip those speeches and you'll enjoy it.
On a side note, for all those comparing the drama Liar Game to this, the drama was much better than this movie.

I have a feeling that if you've never seen the Japanese one, you'd think this is great. But for anybody who HAS…
I agree with you about the second half of your comment - about the disparity between standards. But I personally think this drama was just about as good as the Japanese version, both dramas are well written. I think the only character that was written poorly was Nam Da Jung - and she was a key part of the show so that's why I took some points off my rating.
In response to the second part of your comment, I find that most people start off watching Kdramas and have a bias towards them. They prefer Kdramas and Korean actors/actresses over the Japanese ones. The problem is, most of these viewers haven't watched dramas over a period of time (say 2005 - present) so they don't understand the Jdrama humor or how far Taiwanese dramas have come. I've seen many comments on Jdramas about how much people "hate" or "dislike" the "over dramatic acting" or "over reacting" to various events that take place in a given Jdrama. But that's what I LOVE about Jdramas. And in terms of Tdramas, audiences find that Tdramas are very "long" and "uselessly over dramatic." Try the older dramas then... the older Tdramas were much longer. I really enjoy some of the newer Tdramas and see how far they've come along.
The ratings on all shows are thrown off by such viewers and it's sad to see how some oldies are given poor ratings.

Or save the files as offline data. But.. I don't think he knew the data would get deleted.

Overall I liked it, initially I gave it a rating of 8/10 but I just re-watched the last two episodes and I dropped my rating to a 7.5. I didn't like how everything unfolded in the last few episodes. However, it is really well written up to ep 15/16.

Honestly, this show is very uneven. It starts out really good. Acting is superb, script is amazing, production…
@Andre: Your comment is just pure bashing without any CLEAR explanation about each of the faults you bring up. In what ways does he become a caricature? That's an open and vague opinion of yours that you shouldn't present like a fact. What layers do you see in Hanazawa that aren't developed? If you see a layered character, that shows how much effort was put into developing the character. To add to that, I think all his "layers" thoroughly come through as the show progresses. You see him develop and improve not only his own life but faulty things within the system (to the best of his ability). Anyone who watched the show from start to finish without skipping parts would notice that.
Your comment lacks critical thought and just goes to show you either lack the ability to write a proper review or this show wasn't a genre you enjoyed and you just watched it because of the high ratings. If it's the latter, you shouldn't have watched this show to begin with - even if it has high ratings. Bashing a show just because it wasn't a genre you enjoy is ridiculous... In addition, comparing it to Hana Yori Dango - a show from a completely different genre - makes your comment come across as lacking competence.

Miura Haruma is WONDERFUL in this show! He's such a great actor and such a role really puts an actor to test. To limit one's ability to use certain parts of his/her body deliberately (for acting out a role) and moving one's body in awkward ways due to the limitations, is really challenging. Not only was he able to successfully pull off his role physically, but emotionally too. He really brought the character "Takuto" to life in the expressive way he said his lines.
The other actors and actresses were good but of course, none come close to how well Miura Haruma portrayed "Takuto." The only weak one was Tabe Mikako. It took a while for her to get into her role as "Megumi." I feel like she was quite detached from the role. She started getting more into it as the show progressed, but it's pretty obvious that she's disconnected and not embodying the character "Megumi" well in the first few eps.

Very simple movie. There wasn't much of a plot - so if you're looking for something with a complex story line, you won't enjoy this much. The movie is meant to show you the beauty of living off the land - an agricultural lifestyle. The scenery is stunning and every shot is highly artistic. Just beautiful cinematography! ❤ Loved every bit of this movie! ❤

This was a great movie! I really enjoyed the storyline and I think the cast did a wonderful job playing their roles. The only aspect I didn't like was how unwilling the teacher seemed initially to actually help the student. I know he wasn't doing well in school, but the fact that he was showing up to class, was a pretty big deal. The teacher should have been teaching him from the start.

For me it's the acting... I can see myself doing what you did if the poor acting continues and the story does not pick up. I just finished watching Signal (2015). If you haven't watched it, it seems like you will enjoy that one MUCH MORE! That one is a stellar 9.5/10. The knots aren't all tied up at the end so I gave it a 9.5. But most people have given it a 10.

I just on ep 1 and not liking the lead actress or some of the supporting cast. She's pretty bad at acting and it's taking away from the show. Her expressions seem forced, not genuine so I don't feel like I'm actually drawn into the show. I'm hoping this changes as I continue watching...
Why is Chun Hee a supporting actor AGAIN? (ㅠ__ㅠ) He's actually the only one making me laugh and enjoy the show so far... I wish he'd take on the lead role more often.

I think you're right about them not needing a second season but some closure is needed. This show was left pretty open ended. They need a movie or something short to close off all the loose ends. Or even an hour long "special" or something. Anything to tie it all up because most viewers seem confused about at least one aspect or two about the ending. The special can be about how Jaehan marries Soohyun or something like that (a side story). But it should prevent the viewers from feeling like they were left hanging at the end.

Not disappointing to watch it's great but there's something missing in the end i really really want to see Haeyoung…
I completely agree! The build up to Soohyun meeting Jaehan was quite intense. To not even air a bit of that at the end of the show, and leave it all implied, really leaves the viewer hanging
