I don't actually agree with this take. I do agree that jing is a bit to sympathetic for my liking but everyone acts differently. But when it came to his brother he could'nt have just went back to the family and accuse his brother of almost killing him and boom TH would get kicked out. I don't think it works so also when they finally caught TH in the act he left the decision to the elders and i dont think he has the heart to kill him but the way the elders decided on the punishment was great imo. Jing nephew still had both parents alive it just that they were too ambitious and easily manipulated but if we can all agree on something i do believe jing could have saved alot of heartache and lives such as TH wife if he acted quickly

The scene with CX and CFL where CX was bad talking Jing and calling him weak and incompetent when he has been helping CFL all along made me laugh lol wonder how he would feel knowing this

When CX said to the great emperor can you really entrust XY to a weak man like Jing i was like 😮 then when the great emperor said back as a man with great power and wealth, revenge is easy but restraint is difficult and to top it off said maybe you can't understand i was like oopp shots thrown.

I'm I the only one who is both team TSJ and XL. Like i can go either way and be hella satisfied with either ending up with XY. Anyone except CX lol he does so much that hurts XY and he does it INTENTIONALLY.

You are 100% correct but I said XY doesn't want those things but you mentioned XL. Yes he doesnt want those things but he is already entangled with power and glory which are some attributes an army and a genreal as that would like to have.

Just like the great emperor said "She isn't like the women in the palace she doesn't want wealth, fame or power, all she wants is a man who is devoted to her and will spend the rest of their life with her." or something so. It just sets up that Jing is the only one who fits the requirments for this. I 100% believe that if XL dropped everything for her just like she asked him to when he asked her to roam the world together she would go with him.

I just feel that people are letting their favoritism come in the way of understanding the complexity of all thw characters just as I said in a previous comment. All the main characters have either gone through some heavy trauma or have huge responsibilities or have both which influences the way the act and the choices they choose to make. For example if you look at the way Jing behaves like he is lifeless without any emotion unless he is with XY is just a result of the trauma he went through with his brother we also have CX who wants nothing but power due to being held as a hostage all his life and belittled. Xingyue is hungry for power as well since she was literally raised to aid her family even in a certain scene I think where XY asks her if this is really what she wants just the way she replies tells you what you need to know. I don't even want to get into XY. Me personally I just don't like when people say this character is this and that when the barely understand the character as it is but not everyone goes in depth with them some just look on the surface so I understand

You are right you wouldn't want someone to die after you but I thought we were saying to die for you woman like sacrificing yourselve, getting revenge uk I'm not speaking of suicide lol. Although their are some people who would rather die than be in a world without their loved one, some people also go into drug addictoon, depression ect so either way no one is living a happy life after but you are right peope have their own views and tastes

For people who say Jing is a loser and has no passion and they dont see his love for XY is crazy to me because how can you not see the complexity of his character. All the Charcters in this drama are so different it just baffles me how people will let their favoritism get in the way of them seeing things as it is. Like there is not one of the Male leads who doesn't love XY so its just crazy how someone can say this person loves her but this person doesn't. Not because you don't like how someone expresses their love it isn't love. Like people hate that Jing would give up everything including his life for XY and people will say he is a wimp and is at XY feet like come on. XL loves her but has responsibilities and is stuck in a hard place because he doesn't want to choose between his love and responsibilities unlike Jing who doesn't care even if XL responsibilities is a bit higher. There is no right or wrong stance both men love XY including CX but lets not get into him. But to end my rant lol all the male leads love XY and have different ways of showing it and acting on it. XY will choose the love tthat resonates with her the most as a person and what she wants in life.

I actually think they opposite I love a man who would die for his woman and not care about any responsibilities unless they have a kid together. I don't hate men who have a sense of responsibility its just that if you aren't willing to die, cause havoc or end the world for your woman then sorry i don't like you guys as a couple
