Just like the great emperor said "She isn't like the women in the palace she doesn't want wealth, fame or power, all she wants is a man who is devoted to her and will spend the rest of their life with her." or something so. It just sets up that Jing is the only one who fits the requirments for this. I 100% believe that if XL dropped everything for her just like she asked him to when he asked her to roam the world together she would go with him.

I just feel that people are letting their favoritism come in the way of understanding the complexity of all thw characters just as I said in a previous comment. All the main characters have either gone through some heavy trauma or have huge responsibilities or have both which influences the way the act and the choices they choose to make. For example if you look at the way Jing behaves like he is lifeless without any emotion unless he is with XY is just a result of the trauma he went through with his brother we also have CX who wants nothing but power due to being held as a hostage all his life and belittled. Xingyue is hungry for power as well since she was literally raised to aid her family even in a certain scene I think where XY asks her if this is really what she wants just the way she replies tells you what you need to know. I don't even want to get into XY. Me personally I just don't like when people say this character is this and that when the barely understand the character as it is but not everyone goes in depth with them some just look on the surface so I understand

You are right you wouldn't want someone to die after you but I thought we were saying to die for you woman like sacrificing yourselve, getting revenge uk I'm not speaking of suicide lol. For people who say Jing is a loser and has no passion and they dont see his love for XY is crazy to me because how can you not see the complexity of his character. All the Charcters in this drama are so different it just baffles me how people will let their favoritism get in the way of them seeing things as it is. Like there is not one of the Male leads who doesn't love XY so its just crazy how someone can say this person loves her but this person doesn't. Not because you don't like how someone expresses their love it isn't love. Like people hate that Jing would give up everything including his life for XY and people will say he is a wimp and is at XY feet like come on. XL loves her but has responsibilities and is stuck in a hard place because he doesn't want to choose between his love and responsibilities unlike Jing who doesn't care even if XL responsibilities is a bit higher. There is no right or wrong stance both men love XY including CX but lets not get into him. But to end my rant lol all the male leads love XY and have different ways of showing it and acting on it. XY will choose the love tthat resonates with her the most as a person and what she wants in life.

I actually think they opposite I love a man who would die for his woman and not care about any responsibilities unless they have a kid together. Uhm why are people comparing this to the double? Cuz they are no way alike like at all and are both different in just the feel of the drama. The double is serious and dark whiles TRP is a bit more lighhearted. Some people make no sense
