Okay! I'll watch the first half, then. Thank you for the tip! ^^ I'm happy to know that the aunt in this version is likeable because the one in the Thai version was annoying.

Wow. So it's really That bad. :(
That's sad. I saw a lot of clips on Instagram showing their sweet moments so I thought I would watch those. Could you tell me which episodes show their best moments? I'm thinking of watching the first half and then drop it before things start to go downhill. Compared to the Thai version, this one shows quite a bit of lovey-dovey moments between the main leads -- or at least that's how it seems to me based on those Instagram clips. I'm interested in watching those. :)

You know how it is when you rewatch a movie that you've seen when you were younger and notice things that you haven't noticed before? That's how it was for me when I rewatched this movie today. The story hit different but it still managed to serve enough nostalgic feels to keep me happy. However, I could not shake off the feeling that the FL's age made the ML look like a pedophile-- well, at least in the beginning--since the FL is a 15-year-old kid.

But I'm still happy that I rewatched this movie. Old movies from this era give me a warm, comforting vibe.

OMG!! The main couple are making a comeback here after The Eternal Love 1 & 2!!!! I know The Eternal Love 3 is lined up but I'm tempted to watch this while waiting for it --- despite the negative comments. I have seen the Thai version of this drama and compared to it, the trailer of this version seems more promising. I don't know. I could just be biased and too happy to see the FL and ML in one show. ^^

Interesting. Thank you for the recommendations. :)

Oh, I see. This is the only version of this drama that I have seen so I have nothing else to compare it to. But out of all the versions that you have seen, which one did you like best?

Could you explain why? I don't remember hating the FL's family. It's been a year since I've seen this so I may have forgotten the annoying parts.

I'm already in Ep. 5 and although I like the storyline of this drama, I find the character of the ML boring. Anyone,…
To be honest, if my memory serves me right, I could only count in one hand the times that the ML showed real, satisfying emotions throughout the entire show.

Ho Rang and Won Seok's relationship was my biggest issue with the show. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the screamy…
I agree. Ho Rang kept "grooming" Won Seok to be the man she wanted him to be. That didn't look like a healthy partnership at all. But, I have to admit that I enjoyed watching some of their adorable scenes together.
On Because This Is My First Life Sep 20, 2020
That was beautiful.

To be honest, I initially thought this was just a regular rom-com that's fun and easy to watch. I even expected to get an SLS mainly because the male lead did not look physically attractive to me. But, surprisingly, he grew on me. I started seeing him differently towards the end of episode 11.

All three pairs are adorable and their relationships and values are relatable. I just wish I got to see more sweet moments between the main couple. Sixteen episodes were not enough. This drama could use four extra episodes to show us more lovey-dovey moments between Ji Ho and Se Hee.

I honestly planned to rate this 7.5 after episode one. The first few episodes seemed like a typical contract-relationship story to me. However, something changed along the way that left me feeling like I was reading a good book in vivid colors. The writer deviated from the usual story line, plus the script and the way it was narrated and executed (especially the second half) made this drama feel like a "good read" to me -- if that makes sense.

I usually rate dramas based on how they made me feel. However, this one didn't make me feel a lot -- it made me THINK a lot. It offered valuable and relatable insights on love, relationships, and marriage. Although I rarely re-watch dramas, there's a high possibility that I would watch this again.

So, if you are 30 years old or older, I recommend you watch this. Who knows? You might learn a thing or two about life, love, and marriage.

Enjoy. :)

This drama was a huge letdown for me, to be honest. But I love Kim Nam Gil so much that I stuck with it--and I'm glad I did. The second half made up for the huge disappointment that was the first half. I loved the ending and especially enjoyed episodes 37 to 40.

"나쁘지 않다 (not bad)"
Just finished episode 1 and I'm hooked! Love the pacing. The story is light and easy to follow and the concept is relatable. I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy this ride. *fingers crossed"

I feel you. Trust me, I have been there. Even my love for Kim Nam Gil was almost not enough to keep me from wanting…
Useless scenes, right? Thinking about those pointless moments angers me. It's a COMPLETE waste of air time and a COMPLETE waste of Kim Nam Gil's talent and his character's true potential. I mean, given Father Kim's background, it doesn't make sense to have him act like a stupid, naive, incompetent person. It's NOT funny to see him do unproductive things when we know for a fact that he is more-than-capable of solving them all by himself. Ugh. The first half is seriously a waste of time. But, it is going to get better. Wait until the 12th episode. I wasn't hooked until the end of episode 24 of 40. So, push yourself until then and decide if it's worth watching until the end.

Episodes 1 to 19 : 2/10 (or lower)Episodes 20 to 22 : 5/10Episodes 23 to 36 : 8/10Episodes 37 to 38 : 9/10Episode…
It's a HARD-WATCH, to be honest. The struggle was SO REAL that clicking the next episode didn't make me happy AT ALL. I had to force myself to go through it until episode 23 came around. That's when the fun started for me. So the second half of this drama is probably the basis for those awards. Once you get sucked in, you'd completely forget about the nonsensical first half that you had to watch.

I have seen 4 episodes and I'm struggling....So far I have laughed only once and the timing of jokes is so bad…
I feel you. Trust me, I have been there. Even my love for Kim Nam Gil was almost not enough to keep me from wanting to drop this drama. But I trusted the others who said that it will get better -- and it sure did.

I would say you would hate it for at least 19 to 22 episodes (out of 40) and would find no reason to keep going. . NONE AT ALL. But things will start getting fun and exciting by episode 23.

So if you are willing to waste your time (I'm just being honest) on the first 19 to 22 episodes, then you will be rewarded with really funny moments and touching serious moments. And if you're like me who came here to see Kim Nam Gil looking and acting super cool (not like the incompetent priest that they've been portraying him to be), you would definitely get that, too. :)

Episodes 1 to 19 : 2/10 (or lower)
Episodes 20 to 22 : 5/10
Episodes 23 to 36 : 8/10
Episodes 37 to 38 : 9/10
Episode 39 : 10/10
Episode 40 : 11/10

Can I rate it like this? Hehe.
Seriously, though, I NEVER thought this drama would grow on me. To be honest, after episode 23, I started feeling like I was watching a totally different drama with the same characters and the same story line. I came to love all of the characters, too--even the main villains. Overall, I enjoyed the second half SO MUCH that I would re-watch it from episode 23 onward. The drama provides enough flashbacks that I don't need to watch the first 22 episodes again.

Also, if there's one thing that this drama had taught me, it's the fact that life is not always eventful and that it takes time and patience to solve its mysteries. I was exactly like how Father Kim was -- always ranting and complaining about why things weren't going the way I wanted them to go in this drama. But I'm glad I didn't drop it no matter how BORED and FRUSTRATED I was because I got to see the cool version of Father Kim that I had been dying to watch from the very start.

I'm also glad that Kim Nam Gil is the male lead because if it wasn't for him, I would have dropped this drama like a hot potato after 2 episodes and never looked back.

Title The Fiery Priest Spoiler
End of Episode 38:
I've been waiting for him to be THAT triggered, THAT smart and THAT competent since the day Father Lee died. I guess priesthood made him forget how to think and act like a real special agent.

I found out this show has used many parodies and if any wants they can look in to it 1)the matrix parody scene…
I noticed the Mr. Sunshine reference, too, although I was irked that he played along with her and not realizing what she was doing.
