Just finished rewatching this after 6 years. I remember having a Second-Male-Lead syndrome back then. But now I prefer the ML. He has a secure attachment style and his relationship with his bodyguard and the FL is very healthy.
I'm on episode 4 and I must say that this is SO EASY to watch. The episodes fly by so fast that each episode doesn't feel like it's 40-minutes long. I can't believe I let this one sit in my Plan-to-Watch list for so long. But then again, I was intimidated by the comments about business rivalry that I thought this would be too heavy and serious for me. I'm loving it so far and I'm so glad I have finally decided to watch it.
I totally understand you, but I think the public isn't ready for the other ending, esp for a mainstream drama…
Yeah.. That's why I'm sad about it. BTW, kindly mark your comment as spoiler so as not to give the future viewers an idea about the ending. Let's give them a surprise that they might be sad about.
I rarely comment but... I'm really hesitant to watch any historical drama but I'm so glad I changed my mind. Perfect…
Please put your comment about the ending in the "Happy or Sad Ending For You?" forum so that it doesn't get lost in the thread and so that people could still read it years from now. :)

"I have in mind the emptiness that Cheol Jong certainly feels (he loved the personality of Bong Hwan, and as he is gone the queen is not the same) and Bong Hwan's longing for the king (he def had some sort of feeling for him)."
I'm so glad to come across more people like you who understand this. Thank you for writing this comment.
I enjoyed this drama but the fact that in the last episode the king said that something was missing is making…
Say it again louder for the people in the back! T_T They had to end it that way because (I believe) Korea is still not ready for a BL kind of love. It's pretty obvious that Bong Hwan was not totally happy to be back in the modern world because (I believe that) he already learned to accept his role as the Queen and developed feelings for the King and the baby. People are saying that they have developed a deep friendship that's why Bong Hwan didn't want to leave the King at a critical state and why the King felt something was missing. But it's obviously more than that! Plus, if the King could truly love the real Queen, he would already have--long before Bong Hwan's spirit entered her body.
the ending is perfect He goes back to his own life and the queen goes back to her king
Please mark this as spoiler. The King did not fall in love with the OG Queen; he fell in love with Mr. Queen (a.k.a Jang Bong Hwan's spirit and personality inside the Queen's body). The King would not even give the Queen the time of day before she jumped into the lake. But the moment Jang Bong Hwan occupied her body, the King got intrigued by Mr. Queen and developed feelings for Mr. Queen. So it is sad to see that the King did not end up with the one he fell in love with.
Also, Jang Bong Hwan was beginning to get comfortable in a female's body and he seemed to have started accepting his role as a woman in that lifetime. So him leaving the people he learned to love in Joseon to go back to the future is pretty disappointing.
The absolute fluffiest, sweetest show to come back to always!! Be warned you will feel empty once its over tho…
For real. I watched this in 2016 and I still remember crying myself to sleep after watching this drama. Then when I woke up, I cried again. I basically cried the entire day after finishing WFKBJ. :'(
Yea, I prefer Mr. Queen, it is much more engaging and much better production.Go Princess Go is obviously low budget,…
Thank you for leaving this comment here. I dropped this drama a long time ago and was thinking of picking it up again after finishing Mr. Queen. But I guess I would have to look for other series to watch. Thank you for helping me save a lot of time!
typical korean drama nowdays....lack in giving a great ending.
I'm still sad about the ending, to be honest. I'm grieving the death of a good story. I can't say that I regret watching it because I definitely had a lot of fun. But I definitely regret watching past the first 20 minutes of the last episode.
By all means, watch it. It's very fun and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it up until the first 20 minutes of the last episode. After that, everything just felt empty and sad.

I see there is a debate if it has a happy or sad ending. That alone is enough for me to not watch it. i only like…
Sad ending, for me. The King felt and even verbally said "something is missing" after Bong Hwan returned to the future. He is still in love with the Queen but he could sense that something is different with her. The Queen is happy that the King is in love with her. But to me, she seems like an imposter who is benefiting from the love that the King has developed for Mr. Queen and his personality. If Jang Bong Hwan's spirit didn't enter Kim So Yong's body, there's NO way the King would fall in love with the Queen. AT ALL.

I'm a little disappointed as well, but it was the only way to end it, otherwise it would have been very complicated...
He was in a vegetative state so it wouldn't be surprising if he actually died and stayed in Joseon with the King. Cheoljong fell in love with Bong Hwan's character, not with So Yong's. So it really is a sad ending.
Technically a happy ending, but it was not the ending that I wanted to see. I completely lost interest 20 minutes into the final episode. Everything was fun and interesting until then. I caught myself shedding a tear (of sadness) towards the end because of how empty I felt. It's a sad ending for me.
I'm on episode 4. At first, the idea of a man in a queen's body was fascinating and hilarious to me. But now that I see more scenes of the king and the queen together, I'm starting to wish that Mr. Queen is actually a woman (on the inside).
so did u try this drama out and find ur perspective for it?
I did not. I still think it's a waste of time. I do watch some clips that pop up on my social media every now and then. But I cannot commit 11 hours of my life to this--at least not at this moment.
