Nope, the CP orchestrated the execution of prince Duan and conspiring with enemies, he's the reason they lost the war, Duan wanted to retire and get away from the battle for the throne but CP organized the execution. The emperor knows everything but he's powerless because CP has his own elite soldiers and a lot of hidden networks. CP is literally behind EVERYTHING. Novel is much better at explaining.

what bugs me is that we didn't get even an inkling that the person the emperor is deadly afraid of is the crown prince (we only got the barest hint he's involved when ML's dad wanted to stop them from investigating) The holes bug the crap out of me

I think this survived only because the beginning is strong and because of its leads. Yes it's an entertaining watch but you can tell A LOT of stuff was cut. Well hopefully we get s2 and it isn't as choppy.

This is entertaining but has the common pitfalls where it loses steam, gets boring at times and loses sight of ml. Cute if you want to pass the time but nothing impressive.

meh, they could have done without the separation plot, half of their lives wasted. Idk stuff after 18 kinda ruined the story for me because of several reasons. Although I do love everything else
