I need to gather my thoughts before giving my final review of the show but I actually did like the ending and found it to be one of the most realistic endings in kdramas I’ve watched by far.
Stereotypical happy ever after endings are perfect for fairytales but real life is filled with ups and downs. Things get better and suddenly there are new challenges to face. This show amplified the ups and downs of life everyone faces, uncovered the darker side of humanity that is often hushed down or even denied.
I have my own problems with the show but the ending showing that the path forward is to always get up again no matter how many times you fall down was to me, the most realistic happy ending possible for this show. Especially given that the path is shared by a trusted ally who’s here to support you everytime you fall down.
In its own twisted and unconventional way, this was a “love story” more real and substantial than most romcoms.
Just another shock value pretend to care about the subject matter western style BS drama that has become more…
You have been foaming at mouth ever since it was revealed that the FL is lesbian so it is no wonder you’re pining this to be “shock value western bs”. How do you sleep at night knowing lesbians, sexual crimes and corruption matter in fact does exist in every single country and not only in the west? Obviously you’re going to find taboo topics being represented as shock value when just like I said, it’s most of the time hidden because kdramas traditionally focus on escapism fantasy and morally black and white storytelling. Next time @ me if you’re going to refer to my comment.
In real life a child rapist is a president. Men do not get ripped apart for sexual crimes.
If you think sexual crimes are taken seriously in South Korea you know nothing about South Korea. There are plenty of actor rapists with careers to prove it.
Perfect portrayal of greed and darkest side of human nature. I was utterly disgusted and heartbroken while watching the latest episode. The desire to overpower, subdue, humiliate and violate someone dead or alive is something rarely shown in Korean media this honestly. Albeit I have my own problems with this show’s pace, most of the main characters are wonderfully multilayered and complex in their humanity. I understand why people don’t like this show; it makes them uncomfortable and shows them a shadow side of humanity and life that is usually hidden and overlooked. Yet in reality there is even darker evil than shown on this show and the Epstein files prove it.
I watched the clip from next episode and it’s the exact room used for prostitution previously. Given that yangmi walked in and told BTS this is his last choice I’m inclined to believe maybe her “offer” included him to sleep with her. She has called him handsome before and touched him inappropriately, I wouldn’t be suprised if she pulls something like this.
I always thought that BTS didn’t love his wife and was in it only for convenience but after the last two episodes I’m convinced that he seems to at least like her. He is definitely protective and possessive of her. In his own way he does accept her for who she is I always thought that BTS didn’t love his wife and was in it only for convenience but after the last two episodes I’m convinced that he seems to at least like her. just saw a leaked clip of SA making out with JW for a film sceneseems like she enjoyed it more than the kiss she…
It definitely makes their relationship more interesting because they did make out in 1st ep but stopped. I wonder if BTS has extramarital relationships
I am seeing things I can’t find in another drama and cracking up and having second hand embrassement. lol Things…
It’s very realistic actually. People often project into celebrities and try to seek comfort from them. Kim soohyun’s fans are a good example of celebrity escapist worship gone wrong
Honestly this seems like one of those shows that I’ll either like or hate depending on the ending. By far I’m intrigued and entertained! Yangmi makes a really entertaining “villain” her character and acting is almost comedic at times. “Can I lend your wife for one night” was disgusting, I’m looking forward next week to see his reaction/answer
