This is what I've been trying to say for a long time. But this drama is a direct adaptation of 枕上书? Does…
Yeah, for Chinese fans, it's most probably that case. Unless they've never read the novels or don't know anything about the books - just super casual fans?? Haha, idk how likely that is though.
I think it can be so. Especially gauging from my sensing of what people seem to know (or don't) about the canon novels.
If anyone wants to start reading the Pillow Books, you may read them here: https://hamster428.wordpress.com/2017/02/03/3l3w-pillow-book-ebooks/However,…
This is what I've been trying to say for a long time.
But this drama is a direct adaptation of 枕上书? Does it make sense that they're playing the same characters but in two different stories? That seems like it's gonna be confusing. I was hoping to get a sequel from Eternal Love actually.
And our dear Wang Kai is in most of them. ♥♥♥ That guy know perfectly to choose his roles. ;)Thanks for…
Daylight used to be Wang Kai's agency until they stopped managing actors/actresses, which explains why many of these dramas have largely similar recurring actor casting, like Wang Kai, Jin Dong, Liu Yi Jun. Surely he'll be cast in his company's productions very often. ^^
But of course, Daylight's casting is almost always really good - because of their persistence in quality work - so that says a lot about anyone who's with them. :)
From what I have hear, the book is real and it focuses on Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. It wasn't just as popular as…
Yeah, I know that. I think we're having a communication breakdown here...? I said I doubt that the Vengo and Dilraba casting is true. I wasn't doubting the existence of the Pillow Book novel at all lol :')
I'm 200% for Vengo's Dong Hua and Dilraba's Feng Jiu whenever and always, but I hiiiiighly doubt this casting is true. And I think this drama is more of an adaptation of the novel than a sequel to the TMoPB adaptation which already has their own interpretation of Dong Feng.
Hello! I'm here to see the gems you were talking about. Not a lot of kdramas but the only one I saw is Marriage…
Hi there. Calling them "gems" was definitely sort of an exaggeration lol. Because I hardly can find kdramas I thoroughly enjoy, so the ones I am able to enjoy would easily be considered as *precious* to me. So forgive me for the inaccuracy. Either way, just take my opinions with a pinch of salt since we all have differing tastes and preferences. :)
I haven't watched many in the first place. This is all I can offer. But I will definitely keep a look out for more.
LOL, your opening words! I've been dabbling in lakorns for some time now, and pretty much into it now, but I'm still quite strictly staying away from slap/kiss dramas. Tbh, you can still find some gems which doesn't have anything to do with rape or toxic r/s - despite the most commonly perceived image of lakorn being ridiculous and melodramatic.
Full House is definitely THE beginner lakorn imo, because it was my own one - and I'm still trying to sell it to some of my friends. Hahaha. And I happen to be watching Padiwaradda now - it has been such a pleasant surprise - I'm loving it! As you said, it really has some depth regarding the idea of marriage etc more than your usual lakorn.
To value-add to my comment, some of my own recommendations which may be good as beginner-friendly lakorns as well (apart from Full House):
I would totally urge anyone to watch Tawipob because it's a GREAT drama - I think it would be a good beginner-friendly lakorn as well for anyone who had been familiar with time travel romances anyway. I can't imagine how freaking underrated it is that it makes me wanna cry sometimes. Because I just love it SO MUCH.
I largely enjoyed Dao Kiang Duen - the middle part can be a bit unbearable but WATCH TILL THE END - you will not regret it. I think this one is also kinda underrated. And maybe Paen Rai Long Tai Wa Rak too - was still overall enjoyable.
This is a nice article to have, anyway. Good job for writing it! :)
Love the variety in this article! Thank you for writing it :)
I've had Phoenix Warriors in my PTW for some time until recently, all because I am fond of Claudia Wang and Joe Cheng - but say what- ALIENS - what??? I didn't even realise it until now! LOL. I'm seriously curiously how that drama would work out, but apparently the reception with the Chinese audience doesn't seem to be positive.
haha don't really dig the male lead too much but he's a new actor signed under ZLY. Jin Han is that…
I enjoyed the novel, and is pretty fond of the male lead's character.
Like you, I'm not digging the actor cast for the male lead. I'm extra disappointed because I don't think his aura/looks don't seem suitable for the character. I'm just hoping he would prove us all wrong somehow when the drama is out. :'(
The aesthetics of the poster really reminds me of Once Upon A Time. I wonder if it's the same production company. (Not that I'm that interested. :P)

It's really indeed a surprise sooooo !!
I'm really too happy I'm almost in tears !!!!! Never even in my dreams would I think we can see Vengo and Dilraba reprise their roles (ugly sobbing)

Gosh, I know right? It's really pretentious that way because Jing Ke was also around but he only ever cared about GSL.
