Hmm, if my memory serves me right, A'Sun and Changge were pretty relaxed around each other early on and didn't…
I watch on Viki and they all translated their dialogue to "vous" which bothers me a lot. Yes for "Sun" is because with google translation, it translates the first name Sun as if it were the word "sun" which in French means "soleil". That's why if I watch on youtube, I watch with English subtitles. Because the French version on youtube is not a real translation but an automatic translation which creates a lot of nonsense and mistakes.
Indeed, the drama is so good that even if the translation is sometimes uneven, it's still great.

I see, thank you for your explanation! ^_^ I'm French and the translation puts "vous" in each of their conversation while I had the impression that from their alcoholic night in episode 5, they were talking familiarly, so "tu". But at the same time the fact that he called her Shisi Lang disturbed me.
They are totally not at all formal with each other throughout the show. They were guarded about their identities…
So in Mandarin, in the first 10 episodes, they use familiar language to address each other, right? They don't use formal language? My language translated it into a formal language, that's why I was wondering.

Yes they were pretty relaxed around each other but they still had greetings and attitudes that seemed to indicate that, even though they were friends, there was some formality between them (like when she calls him "boss"). In my language, formal and familiar are very distinctive and the subtitles make them speak formally to each other throughout (16 episodes with subtitles for the moment). So I was wondering what it was like in the Chinese language. But thank you for your response x)
A quick question of translation for those who understand Mandarin: Do Sun and Changge use familiar language to talk to each other? If so, when do they start using this language and stop being formal? Same question about Hao Du and Changge. Thanks in advance!
so how is the romance in this on? Is it a slow burn with less than 3 kiss scenes? Just want to make sure zhat…
I love romances and can be very picky. This one is surely one of the best there is. However, don't expect too much kiss scenes, that's not how this drama is. But the relationship between lovers, hugs, looks, statements and more are amazing!
I also noticed the ratings going down there. All those you are unsatisfied by the ending should just come here…
Yes. The drama has gone from 9.5 to 9.4 today and I'm sure that's the cause. That someone did not like the drama and gave a low rating in all objectivity, I have nothing against. Each his own. But for people to allow themselves to drag this drama down because they are waiting for the subtitles because they haven't started the drama yet or because they haven't understood the ending is annoying.

On Viki, a lot of bad ratings are caused by people waiting for the drama's subtitles in their language and, instead of waiting quietly, rating with 1 star to complain about the lack of subtitles. I also saw several that put 1 star because they start the drama and will review later but never correct their rating! One put 2 stars and then edited saying she was in episode 20 and loved the drama. I wanted to shout at her: "then change the rating" !!
I can't believe how people are. Just saw, on Viki, someone rated the drama 5 out of 10 stars because, while they LOVED the drama, he/she simply didn't understand the end. It's amazing to devalue the whole drama just because of that.
Mimi is a character that I like. But.... Spoiler Ep45 below
...she made me furious in episode 45! I understand the horror of her situation but, from the start, Changge helps her find solutions. She should have gone to see her! Besides, the plan this time was to stop Yicheng for good. Once in prison, with her own son detained, how could she have threatened Mimi's brother and man? The reasoning of the latter disappointed me enormously. She had an incredible chance to fix everything but instead of grabbing it, she condemned her friend, Ashile Sun and all the tribes of the great desert. She also didn't actually save the people she wanted to save as they remain at Yicheng's mercy. It's maddening ....
In the first part of the drama, Ashile Sun explains that his father loved him very much as a child. Then, suddenly,…
In fact, it is implied but I am waiting to see the last episodes with subtitles to see if there are more details.
It is clearly stated that the Khan swore to his sister-in-law to avenge her (implying that he admired her), that she murdered his brothers without his knowing, in order to put him in power and that from then on he despised her.
It is then easy to understand, as his paranoia attitude began when he rose to power, that it was the murder of his brothers that made him suspicious of everyone, caused him to isolate the children from Khatun's nefarious influence and to doubt his son, to whom he was not related by blood.

It is not said as clearly as I said. But before episode 40, it is said that Khatun killed the Khan's brothers to put him in power because he had promised revenge for her. From this, it is easy to understand why the Khan forbade She'er to see his mother and suddenly changed his attitude towards his son and towards his newly wife.
This drama is really great because even characters that annoyed me and that I did not expect anything are able…
In the first part of the drama, Ashile Sun explains that his father loved him very much as a child. Then, suddenly, his attitude had changed. He even told him to break up with his best friend. Throughout the drama we see the Great Khan oscillating between extreme mistrust and sincere love and admiration for his son. I didn't understand it.
Until the end of the drama when everything lights up.
The Great Khan admired the beautiful Khatun, his sister-in-law. To impress her and out of love, he swore to her that he would avenge the Sui Dynasty. By doing this, unknowingly, he sentenced his brothers to death whom Khatun will poison so that she can marry Khan and put him in power. Betrayed and disgusted by the woman he loved, Grand Khan will become suspicious and paranoia. He is going to take She Er away from his mother so that she will not have a bad influence on him. He will push the two brothers to become enemies because he is afraid that She Er will trust Ashile Sun too much who could end up betraying him. And he will move away and be wary of his son because, despite his love for him, he is afraid that the absence of blood connection will make Sun betray him one day.
Khatun is the cause of all this family drama.
When the story begins, we pity her a little when seeing Grand Khan mistreated her and get annoyed when she makes a sad face. But in reality, he knew she was faking it and that's what pissed him off. He knew the monster in that innocent face and was terrified and disgusted by her.
This drama is really great because even characters that annoyed me and that I did not expect anything are able to be understood by the end of the drama. I think in particular of the Great Khan. Spoilers below.
