Sigh, comparing them can be fun but it’s a slippery slope when it turns into fan wars. Each drama is unique, created with its own storyline, aesthetic and style that appeal to different kinds of viewers. When we start fighting as if one has to be “better” than the other, we are missing out on what makes them special.

Both dramas involve teams of hardworking writers, directors, actors and crew members who put their hearts into creating something meaningful for us. Pitting them against each other reduces all their work to a battle of numbers or popularity. And when we tear down one show or actress to boost another, we are feeding into a culture of competition that doesn’t benefit anyone. It actually ends up hurting the people we claim to support.

It’s especially unfair to the actresses involved. They are real people with their own journeys, ambitions and challenges. Seeing fans turn them into rivals over something as subjective as a TV show disregards the efforts they put in. Imagine being constantly compared to a peer and knowing that no matter what you do, people will still pick you apart. Nobody deserves that.

At the end of the day, fandom should be about positivity, appreciation, and community. It’s not about tearing people down or making someone else “lose” so we feel like our favorite is “winning.”

Instead of fighting over which drama or actress is better, we can support both by celebrating what they bring to our screens. Every story speaks to us in a different way and everyone’s allowed to have a favorite without turning it into a rivalry.

Episode 15 thoughts- Spoilers ahead

I love watching these characters scramble for power, it leaves me with so many thoughts about loyalty, control, and the way everyone seems to be caught in their own schemes. Duanwu is a total mastermind (as always) The way she tricks Lao Yue into thinking he needs an “antidote” to make him obey her was pretty genius. She’s not strong physically, but she uses her mind like a weapon and I admire her sm.

NGL I did not think Yan Zijing would drink the poisoned wine, it’s a huge risk but he does it because he’s desperate to gain trust, he’s really pushing his limits to keep his power intact. It reminded me of those old tales about ancient generals who’d risk their lives to prove their loyalty but here, Yan Zijing is doing it to survive in this ruthless game where everyone’s out for themselves. You can see how the constant need to one-up everyone else is weighing on him and it makes me wonder: Is it really worth it? His character gives this whole vibe of being trapped by his own ambition, like the more power he chases, the more it controls him.

An other thing that took me by surprise was Cui Ba’s whole scheme of faking unconsciousness while plotting behind everyone’s backs lmaooo. That old hag really locked everyone up but either ways Duanwu was still keeping her cool and planning her next move. She is literally unstoppable idc.

Right! Ive been joking about how they’re boyfriends but on a serious note i love how Shin said they were only…
Not going to lie, the amount of time Saint asked what they are in this episode had me screaming on my screen 😭 but yes I agree, it's a process that shouldn't be rushed and the show is doing great at making sure that the forgiveness is earned
On High School Frenemy Nov 5, 2024
I truly appreciate how they took their time with the forgiveness arc, it’s so much more meaningful that way. Saint’s actions were verging on unforgivable so it wouldn’t have felt right for him to simply show up, look remorseful and expect everything to be magically fixed. Shin’s refusal to yield right away shows real strength, setting a boundary that Saint couldn’t just sidestep with an apology and sad eyes, I love shin for that.

Saint’s willingness to sacrifice his own future and education as a way of showing his sincerity and devotion was a turning point and it was exactly the kind of meaningful gesture that could begin to soften Shin’s heart. It’s beautiful really that this moment only happened after Saint demonstrated he was ready to truly risk something important. It allowed Shin to open up, not because he felt pressured but because he saw that Saint’s regret went beyond words, he was willing to back it up with action. This kind of slow, earned forgiveness feels so much more genuine than if it were to be rushed in the first few episodes.

I totally agree! The subtitles can be a bit off at times, mostly because some words and phrases in Chinese don’t have an exact match in English. They’re usually rounded up to something close, but the meaning doesn’t always come through perfectly. I got a bit confused by the prince's too! I think the translators are doing their best to capture the feeling but sometimes there’s just no perfect way to translate certain words or expressions.

I didn’t know that since I haven’t read the novel but I can see what you mean, the GMMTV twins would’ve been a good choice however they might’ve been busy with other projects and I think they made the change to include all three pairings and to give each ship their own spotlight. Pairing Perth with anyone besides Santa is probably out of the question since they are strict with their ships in most cases. Plus, they’ve given us the perfect opportunity to meet Juniormark and see how they bring something fresh to the story.

Nani: And there’ll be a little something extra to look forward to, of course. Not just in the series—just wait and see. Spoiler alert!

Sky: What is it?

Nani: Oh, hey…

Admin: Hmmmm…

Nani: Okay, okay, there’s nothing! Just wait and see!

DON'T MAKE ME HYPERVENTILATE 😭 the lineup is on 26th this month, could they be talking about that? Ugh Im delusional 🤡 chances are it's a fanmeet or something 😭

Ohhh my gosh, even though I totally knew the plot and saw this coming, it still hurts so, so much. Shin’s pain is just right there in his eyes and I can see every feeling is spilling over, its soooo heartbreaking to watch. I don’t know if you guys noticed, but there is this soft look he only has when he’s around Saint like no one else sees that side of him. There is something special about that look, something that’s caught right between anger and this deep, deep love that’s so hard for him to hold back. I think he is pulled in two directions, with his mind trying to say he should be angry but his heart just won’t let him feel a single ounce of hate. Nani brings it to life so perfectly with Shin’s inner conflict through his tiny, subtle expressions. The way he looks at Saint is filled with such warmth and hurt at the same time as if he’s torn between wanting to let go and wanting to hold on even tighter.

Why are they doing this? What's the porpuse??
Maybe the extra content couldn't be aired on YouTube or maybe its a strategy to get more people subscribe to Viu

Well it will probably only be available on viu but that is not available in my country and I don't even know if they will have english subtitles included because they didn't give any more details but I will be so frustrated if we don't get the uncut version

I’m so in love with the main couple's dynamic tbh. I know some viewers aren’t fans of this trope especially with the female lead coming across as childlike which can be a bit polarizing. But for me that innocence actually adds a beautiful contrast to Mu Sheng’s guarded and stoic personality.

Spoiler : Episode 8 was really good, I still have yet to watch ep 9 but Mu Sheng’s look of fear and worry when he thought Miaomiao was in danger felt like he was suddenly facing something completely foreign. From my experience with cdramas, male leads like him often have a defining moment when they realize their lives aren’t as closed-off as they thought, and this was it for Mu Sheng. Until now he only had his sister to look after, so caring for someone outside his family circle has never crossed his mind. I really love to see his inner conflict because he is so used to protecting only his sister but now Miaomiao is making her way into his heart.

This show honestly surprised me! When I first watched the trailer, I wasn’t sure if it was my thing, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance because it’s so good! I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much but here I am completely hooked.

I need an objective opinion on this drama from someone who isn’t necessarily a fan of the main leads—and watching…
I'm not too familiar with the main leads but I have to say, this show has really captured my heart so far! Even though there are only a few episodes out, the story feels so fresh and different from other C-dramas I have watched. The plot is genuinely intriguing and it keeps me hooked ngl. It never feels dull or predictable and I’m constantly excited to see what will happen next and there is something so engaging about the way the characters are written. The female lead in particular is soooo lovable. She is going through a journey towards independence and self-growth, and her strength and resilience are just inspiring. She is someone who refuses to give up, no matter the challenges she faces and I already admire her so much. And I find the male lead really intriguing as well. There is a subtle spark between them and although their chemistry hasn’t fully bloomed yet, I can already sense it will be breathtaking when it does in the upcoming episodes. Also the acting is truly impressive tbh. Even though I don’t recall seeing the leads in other dramas, they are absolutely shining in their roles here. You should definitely give it a try! 😊

Yes, you are right, while the broken leg is the main cause, it’s really the aftermath that fueled Shin’s anger/hatred. I’m not sure if they’ll keep the same storyline here tho
