I'm sorry, but is anyone else sick of articles about OSTs? MDL writers really can't think of anything else to write? Why not write something actually noteworthy? Hopefully this contest will stop the "____'s favorite OSTs" articles. Just make a thread for it if so many people feel the need to share their favorites. I don't know why I bother to read the articles here anymore. DB more than satisfies by drama addiction--in an intellectual way.
Well, I suppose I'm not really this site's target demographic.
The irony of this is that Japanese and Taiwanese (and some Chinese) dramas were all the rage not so long ago !
Tell me about it! Japanese and Taiwanese dramas were all the rage in the early-to-mid-2000s. This was also the period of time when J-pop was much more popular than K-pop. Fads and trends change over time, I guess...
From my experience, people who strictly only watch dramas from one country and claim to dislike every other country's dramas either has some sort of weird nationalistic pride for a country they don't even live in or judge an entire country's drama industry based on just a couple dramas they have seen.
Every country has good dramas. Every country has bad dramas. If you can't see that, then... well, too bad for you. You're missing out on a lot of dramas you would probably like if you were a bit more open-minded. ;)
This is doing absolutely poor ratings (only 6%) , it won't be a surprise if it is canceled, or reduce the episodes…
While this drama certainley isn't getting the level of popularity it deserves in Korea (I just don't understand Korean taste in dramas...) the other Mon/Tue shows aren't faring much better. Punch came in 1st last night with just 9-10% while Healer was at 8% or so. Pride and Prejudice was between them. Also, Mon/Tue dramas overall haven't been doing too hot. Not sure why. Hopefully Healer's great reception from those that ARE watching it will get around so ratings rise.
All in all, I don't think they're doing so badly that they'd get cancelled or shortened. Not at all.
The drama hasn't finished yet, but Healer's OST (so far) really deserves a shout out! Eternal Love by Michael Learns To Rock as well as ~the~ instrumental track. If you watch Healer you know what I'm talking about! The entire OST so far is great and the songs are so expertly placed throughout the episodes.
Dear God this drama is good. The fantastic writing, the incredible depth of the characters and the overwhelming talent of the entire cast... the way they express their characters emotions is just amazing. I'm so glad I picked this up while it is still airing. Finally, a drama that deserves the fan frenzy! The comment section on the DB recaps is filled with so much fun and insight
Burn Out's a good one, as is "I Miss You So I Cry" by Shin Bora from the Ghost OST. However, my favorite songs from the City Hunter soundtrack were Girl's Day's "Cupid" and Rainbow's "You & I" (as well as Suddenly).
I love Minho, but the only thing I've seen him in is TTBY and it was abysmal. Really bad. It didn't really make me excited to watch another drama he stars in. I think I'll stick to following his SHINee activities instead.
Also, Sherlock is definitely my top SHINee song. Simply awesome.
YEEES. This songs are all so good, especially the HYD ones, PEACH, Prisoner of Love, Okaeri, and Sit! Stay! Wait! Down! and Love Story (Namie is a goddess).
Okaeri makes me cry every time I listen to it. I've never seen Zettai Kareshi, but ayaka is definitely one of the best singers in all of Asia.
For 1 Litre of Tears, I actually prefer the Remioromen songs used in it (Konayuki and 3/9)
I agree with you for all the dramas I've seen on this list. Logically, my ratings would be a lot lower for a lot…
I totally get that. All the dramas that I rate as 10s are ones where I am visibly being sucked into the drama and people who are watching me watch it can tell what my feelings are. I'm literally on the edge of my seat, or I'm close to sobbing, or I'm laughing hysterically, or I'm yelling things at the screen (unless I'm yelling because I think the drama is so stupid--that happens, too). But for me, they have to be well-written to some extent, too, or I have to REALLY love one of the characters, in order for it to get a 9-10. This was the case for HYD--I love Makino Tsukushi more than any other drama character ever.
And then some dramas I consider so stupid that I can't feel a single emotion from them because I'm rolling my eyes the entire time, haha.
I'm thinking of applying as an editor. This site is wonderful and the articles are interesting, but some of the grammar is atrocious! Which is understandable when coming from non-native speakers. I'd be happy to make articles a bit more readable.
Gain for me was total BAD mv...Sorry if i anger someone by my comment but these are my feelings. I don't really…
Fxxk U isn't SUPPOSED to be easy to watch. It isn't about "sex sells", it's about portraying violence in relationships, a very real problem that often is ignored and considered taboo to talk about.
Anyone who thinks the MV is supposed to be sexy is totally missing the point. It's supposed to be upsetting. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable. It's about sexual/domestic abuse. She says "Don't want it now" and "I don't want to do it like this" and he says "That's not how I feel" and "Why not? We love each other". Those lines alone tell the whole story.
But I can't imagine a K-Drama ever being as daring as that MV. K-Dramas don't tend to touch on societal issues and neither does K-Pop. That's nice sometimes, but I'd also like some more "real" stuff in K-Dramas. Ignoring problems doesn't mean they don't exist.
The poster below (Ladybritaky) makes a good point. We're likely to wait in vain & pain before we see any significant…
I really don't understand fast forwarding through dramas. If you hate it so much that you wanna fast forward then STOP WATCHING. And this is coming from someone who never drops dramas.
To be honest, even though highly rated (in my mind, 8.0+) dramas here aren't always great, I've started to watch basically only dramas with good ratings on MDL. I won't even touch anything below 7.0 anymore (unless it's a camp AKB drama, of course).
I'm also not someone who watches currently airing dramas, so maybe that's why I don't seem to have the problems so many of you seem to have. That and the fact that, for someone who has been watching dramas for 6 years, I haven't watched a ton. I guess that's because I don't binge watch like some people on here. I don't get how people have the time to watch so many dramas. I'm a college student who doesn't have time to watch dramas every day! So I think that's prevented me from getting burnt out.
I haven't seen the original, but I look forward to anything with Joo Won. I don't know whether I should give this a shot with an open mind and without bias for the original or if I should watch the original first. Hmmm.

She has very soft features and seems like she has a very nice/gentle disposition.
