The story definitely feels rushed but I have decided to accept it and just enjoy the main leads' dynamic. It might not be the best show I've seen but at least it's entertaining.
I haven’t gotten around to watching the original Cherry Magic yet, so I’m confused why people don’t like…
I guess it's because a lot of people (including me) love the original series and the original actors and we are scared that this version won't be as good. Also, imo the type of comedy used in the original drama is one of Japan's specialties and the plot is something only Japan can do. GMM is gonna have a really hard time trying to imitate the essence of the original version.
Prince Gyeseong has my heart. It's nice seeing characters with genderqueer identities being represented in dramas, especially historical dramas. The end of episode 3 made me cry.
The point of the show is this "unsettling" relationship. As an audience member, we are meant to sympathize and…
I agree with what you've said. This show is very complex and every viewer is free of agreeing or disagreeing with the characters and their choices / behavior. But my issue with '180 Degrees' is that I don't care about the characters. Therefore, there's no reason for me to analyze the story. And because of that, I'm unable to enjoy this drama.
I'm definitely in the minority. No matter how much I try, I feel nothing when I watch each episode. The cinematography and acting are amazing, the characters are complex, and I do agree that the dialogue is good. But despite all that, I don't really care about the characters and I honestly find In and Wang's relationship "unsettling" for several reasons: 1) In has known Wang since he was a baby, 2) In used to be in love with Wang's dad, and 3) Wang has been obsessed / "in love" with In even before meeting him. Maybe it's the nature of their relationship what has made it impossible for me to enjoy this drama because I usually really enjoy slow-paced, character-driven, and dialogue-heavy dramas. The same happened to me when I watched I Told Sunset About You. Production-wise, everything was so well crafted, but unfortunately, I couldn't really care about the characters and the story. It's a shame I'm not able to enjoy these dramas or call them "masterpieces" like most viewers. I feel like the odd one out. Now that there's only one episode left for this drama, I'm intrigued about how it's going to end despite not being fond of the story. I feel it's either going to have a bittersweet or ambiguous ending.
