- high tension/thriller; though the terror live has more outside entities involved (the government) while hijack 1971 focuses on the crew, the hijacker, and the passengers

- both stories are based off of real-life events
- emphasis on the politics surrounding these events; for 1971, it was north/south korea relations and 1987 was based off the gwangju uprising leading to the june democracy movement
- heartbreaking. you will need tissues
- character-driven stories. the writer and director cleverly rely on the people and their decisions, who are the highlight of these events

- completely different stories BUT, if you love the "team-based" dramas, designated survivor is like that too. emphasis on team, because these dramas have two of some of my favorite teams assembled out of everything i've watched

- both are built around a terrorist attack
- political, action-packed thriller
- overall, i got pretty similar feelings and vibes while watching this. both are 10/10 in my books, especially if you enjoy genres like these
- one of the actors (lee moosaeng) also played a major part in both series. if you like him, that's a plus

surprised no one has recommended this yet; but both are very action-packed, the roles are kind of reversed (both has to do with "revenge" and a niece/nephew).
