lol am i the only one who liked the last 6 episodes? yeah there was a bit of "look at how the other side lives"…
Yes, I enjoyed the last arc too. Showed how much RSB cared and she left her entire tea empire to her sisters (something I think she would only do for LJL) with her dedicating all of her time to him and helping him during his most vulnerable time without forcing him to choose sides (though she dropped massive hints haha).
Such a beautiful story! I'm going to miss looking forward to catching up with daily episodes. Just wanted to share my thoughts on RSB's portrayal of love towards LJL in the last arc, I felt she's loved him deeply in her own way. She is not able to openly love him or show that much affection, partly because of the way she was brought up, her character and the fact that she shoulders such incredible responsibilities as the head of the Rong family. I'm sure she must have figured out in some way that LJL was in trouble in the capital - which is why she made the effort to go in person. She also went to the Duke's mansion to help LJL and never did force him to make any decisions, but rather helped him to let him choose his own path (she did leave the horses in the end which shows she loved him and wanted him to go back with her - but that was his choice to make).
Her life wasn't easy either with all of her suffering from the tyrant granny, all the scheming sisters and being forced to mature at such a young age and losing her mother so early. She's been through so much to get to where she is right now and it's precisely because of all these hardships, she won't give it up for love. Despite the fact that LJL betrayed her, took her 2 most beloved people and left her at the alter on her wedding day, she still went to 'save' him from the Duke's mansion, helped him overcome the difficulties there and didn't force him to decide on anything. She even knew it was the sis in law who was the ultimate mastermind behind his bro's death but decided not to expose it as it was LJL's decision to make.
Side note: LJL's visuals with his long hair in the blue robe was stunning š
Kinda hate RSB when she asked LJL to be honest and tell her everything and he did. while when LJL asked the same…
LJL knew as well that it was the sis in law who was the ultimate murderer. It was hinted during the scene with her giving him a hug from the back and he said, don't say anything and just wanted a hug - so she replied let's be muddle headed together or something. He didn't want to say it out loud as he knew his brother was not a good husband and father - he abused his wife and ignored his kids, but for the sake of his nephew, he does not want this to come to light as the only kin who loves him now is his mother and he cannot bear to let this come to light and ruin the nephew's life. I really love this scene as it is so powerful how RSB understands LJL and is on the same page with him and wants to protect him and what he cares about (his nephew). Plus who doesn't love a back hug from a FL š
Love how LJL tries to scare RSB with diff torture devices (even puts fake blood on them) š so naughty. RSB can see through your little schemes straight away. He even tries to hold on to her hand a bit longer when he takes off her handcuffs haha.. ā¤ļø
I lol-ed at how flustered LJL was when he heard a Rong lady got hurt, he even upset his teacup, then calmly puts the teacup back to it's position after hearing it wasn't RSB. š Unless it's Da Xiao Jie, he doesn't give a crap š
Did the male lead ever tell the Fl that he has regained his memories? If no, then in ep 17, why was he speaking…
He indirectly told the FL he had regained his memories when he staged that whole fiasco with Cousin Wen catching his subordinate sending a message to magistrate Lang (message-in-pastry incident). He told FL that there are lots of eyes on him so he would need her help to send that message to his teacher.
LJL was so smooth to confess that he had already regained his memories in the letter-in-pastry incident and asking RSB to help him. Smooth play man lol.
Lol that hug from RSB to prevent LJL from checking Wan Wan's body, sneaky play RSB š they're also finally holding hands in public towards the end š.
Okay, I'm happy that the sisters have their eyes set on RSB's leftovers, like the fifth sister now has He and…
The scene where RSB offered gold and assets to LJL and he said he wanted more in order to continue to serve her and be loyal, he gave her a meaningful look (the unspoken request was that he wanted to be chosen as the groom). She chased him out of her room, but then behind closed doors she asked him to wait for her outside. I interpreted this as her way of accepting his request so he also joined the other candidates (despite confused looks from other candidates š)
At this stage I'm not sure if he loves her yet, though he does seem to have feelings. I feel like he also has an agenda to be chosen as the groom to climb up the social ladder which would give him more protection (since he remembered he had killed a magistrate and someone was out there to kill him). The fact that RSB picked the Yang dude likely spurred LJL to really up his game and win her back š
Wow I'm totally hooked after the first 4 episodes, such a strong intro with both FL and ML, and great side character introductions, can't keep up with her harem of men š would be interesting to see how ML thinks and acts once he regains his memories.
FY's face after he woke up looked so beautiful š even though he looked so pale and sickly, that visual man!
Anyone else noticed he looked at the peak of health in the red robes that BS picked out for him before he spat out blood (despite him being so sickly just earlier that day while he was sitting and looking at petitions) I wonder if it was due to the mirror being fixed or maybe her first grade elixer didn't actually work. I noticed FL tried to prevent BL from checking her pulse after she spat out the poisonous blood. Very ominous, especially after the promises that FL and CZ made. I feel like it might not bode well for them.
Apparently Neo kept laughing when he was acting out this scene and was super shy in front of Nazha. Poor Neo's ears were bright red š
