It’s funny that IS was the one drama I was looking forward the most for the longest time and all the other ones were supposed to be fillers while waiting or watching.
But turns out the « outsider’s « are now my favorite ( Love like the Galaxy, Dream of Splendor etc…) and IS the one I watch between episodes.

Same here. I was so shocked when I watched the first episode in all its crappy CGI glory. I'm also watching Love like the Galaxy with its beautiful cinematography and the contrast is jarring. It doesn't even look as good as Ashes of Love. I dropped Ancient Love Poetry because it was not my cup of tea but the production value was great and it was lovely to watch. I was hoping for the same from Immortal Samsara but alas.
I do think Yang Zi still looks very beautiful though.
But I just can't take the drama seriously with its cheap-looking sets and costumes. And I'm not very hopeful for the story since it has been chopped down from 80 episodes to merely 56 apparently. The pacing is quite jarring already so I fear the worst for the rest of the drama.
It had so much potential. Youku is not to be trusted and I will never ever get my hopes up for one of their dramas again.
I'm still watching because I hope something will be salvaged out of this mess but I'm bailing if it goes downhill.
I so wish we could have a Xianxia drama with outstanding production value like we can sometimes see in historical dramas like Love like the Galaxy, Rise of Phoenixes etc...
Yeah I believe its true that LLTG has not attracted the big bucks from advertisers. Unemployment among age 16-24…
I find it a very very risky strategy to hold back on dramas because of the lack of sufficient ads. There have been so many C-ent stars cancellations in the past couple of years and so many dramas that have been shelved because of it. Look at what happened to The Golden Hairpin. They had the license to air it but were holding back and then the Chris Wu thing happened and it was game over. Things are so fragile in C-Ent that it's a very risky bet to not air a drama that is ready to go. Better to air with less ads than not airing at all.
Do you think there’s any chance it will be picked up by Netflix ? It would be such a great promotion for Asian dramas. Production value is top noch and the story addictive.
Actually he that kind in novel, in his mind only revenge matter for him, and he think he not good for FL. With…
Yes, that's the only logical reason he would change his mind and that's how I interpreted it in my head. But what is easily explained in a book doesn't translate well on-screen if there's no extra explanation. I hope it was just a glitch and that we'll continue getting good continuity from now on.
Is anyone else feeling "What the heck?!?" after LBY's change in behavior? We had that beautiful scene with him overhearing ShaoShang's conversation with Lou Yao in the rain. The way he reacted to her saying she didn't like soldiers with blood on their hands was a beautifully done follow up to the scene where he tries to hide his blood-stained sword from her after executing the rebels. It's made clear that he feels he's not good enough for her and that he will let her be with another, more innocent man even if he'll suffer from unrequited love from afar.
But then, next thing we know he's being all petty towards Lou Yao, trying to separate him from ShaoShang, pushing himself forward by asking her if she's sure she chose the right man. Not to mention the mind-boggling scene with her parents in front of the capital's gates. This is clearly the behavior of a man who is out to get himself noticed in order to win the girl. Or else it's passive aggressive dog in the manger behavior: I won't get the girl but I won't let anyone have her so easily either (which seems pretty out of character)
So what gives? How did we get from A to C without a B moment in which it's made clear he's decided to pursue ShaoShang after all? I'm not saying it's unbelievable he made such a decision. Just that there's something missing in the execution. Kind of like what happened with Game of Thrones Season 8. The plot points were all reasonable but the showrunners didn't spend enough time to get us to those points.
Can I ask where you’re all watching the episodes? I’ve tried the regular websites ( dramacool, kissasian etc.. )but the subs for episodes 11 and 12 are terribly out of synch. It’s unwatchable. Or is it just me?
Does Jin Mi change/transform????????Does she become smart and strong instead of staying naive? And if yes HOW…
It's a process. She starts to wise up during her mortal trial (which starts in episode 19 or 20 IIRC) and completely grows up when tragedy strikes.
I'd argue that she's strong from start to finish. Her naivety is due to the fact she was basically forced to live like a child for 4000 years but she's always had a strong sense of loyalty and justice and will do anything for her friends.
But she's not and never will be a fighting machine like the heroine of Princess Agent for example. She has her own kind of strength but physical combat is not one of them (although she does hold her own once her powers are unlocked).
Lots of historicals on your list. They're my favorites as well :) I've watched and loved most of the dramas on…
You can watch Rop at all the usual sites, I don't think mydramalist allows me to post direct links though. But you find the drama with a quick Google search. And it is the uncut version that is being uploaded, no worries.
Chuno's ending? The ML willingly dies trying to protect the woman he loves and entrusts her to the 2nd ML (with whom she had fallen in love with during the course of the drama). Can't remember what happens to the ML's 2 besties but I think they survive. The main bad guy bites the dust and his son-in-law (whom he had forced to chase after the heroes) comes home a broken man but alive.
You can't really say he got off scot freed though: Although the drama focuses on Xu Feng's grief, Jin Mi's death…
it takes some serious ruthlessness to rule over millions of gods and fairies so moon immortal wouldn't have been suited to the position, in addition to having 0 interest (there's a reason his brother didn't kill him the way he thought he had killed his elder brother)

We’ll see how the story develops

Did it work for you?
I would like to cast it on my TV ( I have an app) but the subs won’t show so I’m stuck watching the drama on my tablet.
Has anyone successfully cast that website on their tv with subs by any chance?
Legend of Fuyao
Rebel Princess
Battle of Changsha
