I completely agree with you and it would be lovely if it were always possible to just sit back and enjoy a production. However, delivery matters. To be clear, I'm an audience member experienced in watching and old enough to discern what I enjoy and dont. What you call nit picking, I call quality discernment. Its all about perspective.
