Each one has their own job. Almost dramas were made by different production companies and were brought the right to air by the broadcast/distribution company. Good or bad, it's another story, but no one can deny how unprofessional Youku is in term of broadcasting. Of course, others platform also have this kind of problems too sometimes, but Youku has been seriously crazy recently. I've lost count of how many dramas were withdrawn , reschedule at the last minute, suddenly air, suddenly stop ..... with them. If you are the producer or actor/actress, you will feel very injustice. And if it's a good product, then it deserved a right treatment.
Youku is the one who lost the most among streaming platform. Their reputation also lack behind. If you look at their library, you can see a lot of potential drama, but then look at these number :

It's in the first place in the upcoming release list but there is no date fix. I hope there are news this week.

Youku or Iqiyi usually air multiple dramas with different genre at the same time. One or two mordern with a costume drama, but not two costume dramas.

Youku still hasn't a schedule for it , even the month is not written, not sure march or avril, may be even later. They change the order of dramas in the upcoming release everyday.

NPC meeting ( not CCP meeting ) is not from 5th to 15th. It began from 4th and ended in the morning 13rd ( China's time ), Xi already gave his closing speech. And it was scheduled like weeks ahead so we can't say that the broadcast station didn't prepare. Well, it is already over so It can't be use as an excuse for not broadcast anything now. Also as I said above that if it's truly there is any restriction for costume drama then all current airing costume dramas would need to stop and resume after the meeting. Also during the meeting NPC also highlight that costume drama have been very famous international recently, ( which is a good sign, so they do not hold up anything against it ). Sensitive topic, yeah but not all costume drama. If a drama already past the trial then there is no problem, it can be broadcast.
They didn't release any new drama during last week because they never air 2 costume dramas at the same time, that's why we must wait for Starry to end.
The only posibility to explain the relation with the meeting is that the hot search will be very limited during this time ( all the top trending topic is related to the meeting ) and the broadcast station don't want to waste that. But they should at least give a date ahead to warm up and broadcast as soon as possible or else they will lose money.

A sibling？The part "Bai Xiao" in both names is written exactly with the same character in Chinese , not just sound the same. But a shadow demon is a sibling of a fox demon is a little bit weird. But he looks good tho ... may be a love triangle ? hahahaha. I like that idea.

I read ( from other people ) that there is another actor portray Bai Xiao Lu, so Bai Xiao Sheng is a new character. But their name are so alike. Hmn,! It's interesting.

I think they all read comment here and there, to improve their acting, there are funny ones, but there are harsh comment too

I also see new important characters who don't appear in the novel, like Bai Xiao Sheng / the shadow demon (the name sounds kinda cool already :D), people say that he is one of the main villains.

That's a speculation, but I also saw a lot of people deny it because, if NPC's theme clash with costume drama's theme then there will be no costume drama airing at all during this time. Already released or will be released is not a problem. All big station have at least one costume drama airing now. If it's about the time slot then web drama does not affect by NPC's live broadcast , also most drama air in the evening while NPC air during the day. It just the broadcast station decide what to air next after their current drama finish. Still, we never know ...

Youku is being ridiculous now.
Yesterday I told you that they will broadcast "Wu xing shi jia" from 13rd to 23rd at 6pm, right ?. And it's not a rumour. They seriously put date and hour of broadcast in their page, took it to second place of release in their home page. Today, they removed it totally, you need to type the drama's name in the search bar to see its page, now without date and time. Darren Wang fans are getting furious. So, until you can see the first ep of a drama then even Youku announcement is uncertain. And it's not the first time. Few dramas have been withdraw like that recently.
Their half ass way of conducting business is hurting themselves. They just keep changing and mess up things. No planning, no schedule, no no .... at all.

If they respect him, then they should release this drama as soon as possible + a proper promotion. A lot of people feel bad for him, died before his drama can release.
Gift shop already load merchandise, just waiting for an announcement. Youku have paid money to hang Huxin poster in metro station since Feb, the longer Youku hold this drama, the more money they will lose. Advertiser also may pull out their ads.
As for censorship, I scratch my head to think for one reason which can possible lead it to be blocked TT
