I don't know the singer, I guess that they will only release 1 song, and the rest later. Since Sa DingDing is in the cast, I think she will have one song.
Hey guys, the OST will be released next week, so there is a high chance that Huxin can be broadcast on the 12th next month after Starry ends ( I'm dancing in my mind )
- Is Tian Yao a demon? No, he’s not a demon by original or nature. He is a thousand years old dragon. He was…
Okey, so I literally check the English trans, it’s not so bad. There are good paragraph, also there are some not well translate, but overall, it’s enough. It was translated few years back, so if they do it again, they will have a better version. As I said, can’t expect a perfection for Chinese English translation. I personally think they even need to use more English term to make it sound smoother, and leave a detailed note beside. Years ago, I hardly see foreigner care for Chinese drama/novel, but now it’s quite popular. In the future there will be more novel is translated and there will be better translation version. Participate to bring a part of China’s beautiful cultural to the world is already good, even if it’s not perfect. I will stop here, cause this thread is already way too long. You two pls stop arguing. Let's wait the drama air together. We both love it, right ?. Don't let little things ruin our enjoyment.

People can choose whatever they like to begin. Because they must really like these original works to spend time and effort to translate them. A novel that can be read in a week, yet it take months to years to be completely translated. So much works !!! May be it's hard to understand, but they try with all their passionate. Don't discredit them, every master used to be a beginner.
Also, those translation version is not intended for Chinese speaker, it’s for English speaker, therefore need to use the English term, wherever you like it or not, it doesn’t matter, the goal is to other pp who do not know Chinese to understand. You can not just expect people to understand everything you say in your way, you need to explain it in their way so they can understand you. Or else we will just run in a circle because nobody understands anybody. And that’s exactly the problem here. And it’s not just translation, but also business, relationship whatsoever, when a foreign company do business in another country, they also need to change to adapt with the new enviroment.
Actually, it’s really much easier to find the Chinese version on the internet so I really curious why you need to read those English version while you can simply just read them in Chinese. I don’t find a Chinese version of the English novel to read either. Isn’t that so weird? :/
I've read some portion of the novel specially ending side.... Atleast there is happy ending.
I stop reading the novel, because I don't want to get too much spoiler. But those kind of drama/novel usually have good ending. I've never seen one has bad ending :) ( or may be I haven't watche'ded enough :D )
- Is Tian Yao a demon? No, he’s not a demon by original or nature. He is a thousand years old dragon. He was…
Don’t be too hard on those amateur translators. While I admit that there is a lot of bad translation out there, I find that almost time, official channel like Youku or Mango TV are the one who had a lot of ridiculous errors. Fans translation is not perfect but is good enough to understand the story. To have courage to learn a totally different language, then good enough to translate it to another language is really admirable. They tried their best ( in their limit ) and also open to correction and improvement too.
Translate Chinese to English is really hard, not saying translate xianxa novel. Can’t demande for 100% correct , because they are written in a special way. There are a lot of ancient terms, idioms, metaphors, references to other pieces of literature, and sometimes is written in a very poetic way (which is really hard to fully understand). Not saying foreigner, some paragraph even hard for native to understand too, especially for people who did not familiar with the genre. The same as when we translate Shakespeare to Chinese (spoiler: it’s hilarious).
Must say that Chinese language is a language that (for a lot of times), what people say doesn’t the get along with what people mean, you need to find their meaning base on their tone, the context, who talk to whom, their social level,.. etc.. But English is a much more straightforward language. Sometimes, if you translate too close to the original (which you may think it’s good ) but for English speaker, they will not understand, they may find that it sounds unatural or unfamiliar. So, find a similar term to express is the better choice even it’s not the same as the original. When I read Chinese, there are things, I clearly understand in my mind, yes, not that I don’t understand it, but I was unable to express them in English in just few words and vice versa. So if the translation is close 70% to the original, even there are missing parts, I can call it a success.
For non-Chinese speaker, found a translation version is definitely better than none. I don’t see Chinese-English bilingual speaker spend time and effort to translate so, can’t blame another pp if you do not do the job to help others pp.
PS: I put it under spoiler bcs, jeezz, hard to scroll down :) no hard feeling
- Is Tian Yao a demon? No, he’s not a demon by original or nature. He is a thousand years old dragon. He was…
okie, guys, I think everyone have their own valid reasons. And things may change in the drama too like all other drama-novel adaptation. Whatever, he's a very cute dragon :D Hihi Actually the trending now in drama is that the demon are the good guys, similar as in Cang Lan Jue, immortals now are the evil and hypocrite guys.
Ok, guys. I have read some chapters of the novel in Chinese, and regarding about the demon/spirit problem, here…
- Is Tian Yao a demon? No, he’s not a demon by original or nature. He is a thousand years old dragon. He was immortal (by birth) until was betrayed by his loved one. He doesn’t cultivated the same way as demons do. - So how he was referred as a demon ? Because he was labelled as a monster/ demon by others “evil” immortals. From a victim now be portrayed as a criminal. The Monkey King in the Journey to the West is a high powerful spirit, but some jealously immortals from heaven look down on him, and called him “yao hou“ (Demon Monkey) because they dislike him. What pp called other pp does not mean that they are the real one, the same as when I called my neighbour “that ugly witch” doesn’t mean that she is a real witch :D Also, when Tian Yao referred to himself as a demon. In the context of the story, he talks in a painful, embarrassing tone. Look at myself, that’s what pp labelled me. And look at my state now. I am hiding, have no power …. My life is not so different with other low-level spirit that pp used to call as “demon”. It’s so pity, I’m a demon dragon, a disgraced dragon. That's why Yan Hui feels that he is so mystery, she keeps wondering why such a high respectful dragon, the one who was embroidered on the emperor robe can became to this miserable state.
So, Tian Yao is not a demon but is framed as a“demon” by others evil immortals in the novel. That’s why Chinese news and Minghao use ling /sacred spirit and not yao/demon to talk about Tian Yao, because we do not holding a grudge against him like other evil immortals in the novel, but just called him as his true nature.
Tian Yao is a dragon DEMON, not a god. He cultivated for as millennium so he was powerful AF but then the antagonist…
??? A little bit confused here. Which part you don't agree with me? I said that fans who don't know Chinese may just feel lucky/happy to have subs/trans, and for the detail then they can interpreter by themselves, for example like these are words are not very well translate but pp can get the meaning by put them in context. But seriously, there are some really bad translation out there, inclued official channel. And I realy hope they can get better, not staying with "acceptable" , or " just enough" to understand the story.
I haven't read the novel yet, can't comment on the translation job of whoever pp mention above, or what exactly wrote in the original one. I will read them when the drama finish, cause I don't want too much spoiler.
Tian Yao is a dragon DEMON, not a god. He cultivated for as millennium so he was powerful AF but then the antagonist…
You guys make me wanna read the novel now, especially with all delay, hahaha. Anyway, it's hard to translate Chinese-English tho ..., need a lot of time to find a good, accurate translation, a lot of words and meaning don't have parallel words, and it's also depend on the situation, the same sentences don't necessary have same meaning. But fans who don't know Chinese may just feel lucky/happy to have subs/trans then interpreter detail by themselves. I'm not so nit picking on translation, but read some of them give me a fun ride LOL, especially with MangoTV. I can do a better job than them, hahaha.
Tian Yao is a dragon DEMON, not a god. He cultivated for as millennium so he was powerful AF but then the antagonist…
oh, I need to rewatch it again ... hahaha, yeah, better should be “the end of destiny" , and the next scene, "the beginning of fate" or the destiny ends, the fate begins, sounds more smooth.
Tian Yao is a dragon DEMON, not a god. He cultivated for as millennium so he was powerful AF but then the antagonist…
I agree with you, a lot of bad translation , I've seen these things happend a lot in others novel/ drama/subtitle. I haven't read this novel yet, because I don't want to be spoiler, but in Chinese news they always refer Tianyao as "ling long" / a "sacred" spirit dragon. He has bad behavior so they say he's "evil" in character but not like a demon one. Actually I never ever seen in any drama or even novel, Dragon was referred as demon ( yao ), unlike snake, usually be called "she yao". Dragon is just dragon. They can be bad, or good but not demons.
I've been waiting for this drama like for thousands years , huhu. I don't understand the delay. Don't tell me that there is something fishy behind the scene here ?!
I hope so, really want to see more hihihi, but the original ending is good to me, the rest we all can expect. It's easy to say that Murong gg will not last longer and our coupe will live happy somewhere.
