I personally do not interest reading the novel, adaptation depends on various things and always change to fit with a drama, not necessary always bcs of censor stuffs. filming crew have their own schedule, u do not film it alone, so other crews and actor/actress need to match their schedule for u ? As I said, she is just supporting role, she can get out early, no problem. They can kill off a character for many reasons, not just this case but they also kill off a character which have their schedule cross with the current filming one, anything is possible, just negotiate with the produce/ director
