Does anyone know what kuafah means? I know tongfah means sky.
hiii kuafah ขั้วฟ้า is a juntion of the words kua ขั้ว and fah ฟ้า. As the other comment said, Fah ฟ้า means sky. Kuafah ขั้วฟ้า together actually means something akin to Celestial pole which, as wikipedia says, means that "The north and south celestial poles are the two points in the sky where Earth's axis of rotation, indefinitely extended, intersects the celestial sphere. The north and south celestial poles appear permanently directly overhead to observers at Earth's North Pole and South Pole, respectively. As Earth spins on its axis, the two celestial poles remain fixed in the sky, and all other celestial points appear to rotate around them, completing one circuit per day (strictly, per sidereal day)." However, I don't think most people, including ordinary thai people, actually know the exact meaning of Kuafah ขั้วฟ้า . Some people maybe think about the north and the south poles ( kualokenux ขั้วโลกเหนือ and kualokti ขั้วโลกใต้, respectively), some people think it's an unkown place far away, while others just don't give it much importance and focus it only on Fah ฟ้า and the meaning of Sky. For us international audience it does make more sense to focus on Fah ฟ้า, which means Sky, since the english name for the show is Sky In Your Heart. [romanization of some thai words might be wrong in terms of spelling so I included the characters]

not dropping this show for Syn and Syn only.
.I'll just skip Yi and Diao scenes from now on - I can't with them anymore; I'm so sorry but their scenes are so cringe and badly acted.I also don't like the show's logic regarding Kuea and Lian's relationship. Not because of the toxicity or anything like that, there are toxic relationships out there and most of you are exaggerating a tiny bit. BUT regarding Kuea's character. He was initially introduced to as a problem solver, a mechanic engineering student whose hobby is racing. So you tell me a guy like that keeps pretending to be this cringe "love me Lian pls" puppy whenever he's in front of Lian even after they moved in together? It just became his personality 24/7. When Lian told him he didn't love him and Kuea decided to break off the engagement - didn't he say he would stop behaving that way and would be his true self? That was amazing! But where did that go? Where's that Kuea? Now, whenever Kuea isn't being that polished fake self, he resorts to being a whiny kid who does nothing but complain instead of finding solutions. He was introduced as a mechanic engineering student, as a practical problem solver, how come he can't do anything to save his life but complain in these last few eps????
It just lost all logic. So much potential this show had, so much bad acting and writing being aired now :(

didn't have high expectations for this but wow episode 1 was really good!!! Looking forward to what will come…
I gotta point out that the acting was really smooth this episode! I was reticent due to the trailers but in today's ep everything flowed really well, every single character. It made me smile a lot with the friendship dynamics too. Really promising start!!

I'm curious as to why Winnie the Pooh was banned. I know...Google is my friend.
political reasons :( people started comparing china's president to Winnie The Pooh and it went quite far so he banned it from chinese media :| It's not 100% banned since China does still manufacter Winnie The Pooh products but it has been banned from national media, including social media.

Thank u so much for this tho!

Just to let you all know ^^ this drama isn't the usual Chinese censored BL as it is a web series which wasn't/isn't being aired in China. It's a China made BL meant for a more international audience. The marketing for the show and everything it includes is done by international partners and the actual promotions in China must be done very carefully and under the radar as it did not undergo censorship. It follows an entirely different route compared to tv censored bl dramas. This is why you see a depiction of the relationship between the two main characters as a romance and not as a platonic friendship (which we can sometimes see the romance from but yeah) and see details such as the appearance of a Winnie The Pooh, a character who has been forbidden in Chinese media. This series was a very bold move and could be the beginning of more of its kind so give it a try and support it ~

EDIT!!! There's some faults in this statement of mine, please check the replies for a full understanding.

P.S.: If any of you manages to find the novel this show was based in pls let me know 😭 (even if it isn't translated yet, it's okay) - EDIT!! The author/director has replied to me on twitter saying that since it is being serialized it is going to be published little by little - he says he'll keep updating on twitter regarding the novel's situation

I thought bl is not allowed in china
This bl is a web series, not a tv series and its marketing works in a different way compared to usual china bl censored adaptations. It did not undergo censorship and therefore they have to be careful when promoting it in China. This is a China made BL but it's actually meant for a more international audience ~

the last episode...WOWthe whole show...WOWI love how it plays with usual bl cliches and boils them to create something…
I don't understand some people's take on the last episode as bad due to the family's reaction and why Patpran had to break up if their families were gonna end up accepting it?
I don't think you've seen the same as me T-T
Patpran never broke up. They just made the people who didn't support their relationship believe they did so they could continue being happy without being constantly pressured and guilty.
4 years passed between last episode and this one and I feel like that's why some people didn't quite understand some points - because those 4 years weren't thoroughly explained. They continued their relationship after telling everyone (but Wai, Korn, Pa, Ink) they broke up but, at some point, Pran decided to go abroad to develop his skills, whereas Pat decided to follow his family business - just like they had spoken when they ran away from their families. Their relationship did not end - they kept it long distance. They said Pran's time abroad would be 2 years. When he arrived back in Thailand to go to the school reunion and then went to Pat's apartment - when Patpran were flirting in Pat's apartment, Pran said "It's been a year" - which means he's only been abroad for one year. After that, when they were with Pa, Ink, Wai and Korn at the bar, Pran said he was on vacation and had to go back. WHICH in its turn means that Patpran were in a secret relationship for 3 years before Pran left to Singapore. This is confirmed by them saying it had been hard to hide during the remaining time at college after telling everyone (again, except Wai, Korn, Pa and Ink) that they had broken up.
Now, regarding their families. Don't forget, we had a 4-year time skip. Their families, especially Pat's father and Pran's mother, strongly opposed their relationship when they first found out. That was why Patpran ran away from their families and had to pretend they broke up - to bring them back to their own families and not stay in bad terms with them. During the following 4 years, Patpran kept secretly dating and each of them built their own lives, they were no longer college students, they were working adults who now had their own lives outside of their family homes.
I think this is an important point - they no longer visited their parents as much - Pran was abroad and Pat worked in the family business but he himself said it had been a while since he had visited his family. Previously, they were in college with their parents' money, their dorm apartments were rented with their parents' money, they had no possession of theirs at the time, they had no choice but to follow their families as they were their greatest support.
But 4 years after they are full grown men with their own careers and choices to make. Their relationship remains hidden but there's small hints that their parents knew about it. When Pat brought the liquor Pran had gifted, his parents immediately knew who it was from. Pran's mother returned him his guitar, as if letting him know she could no longer keep him from playing if that's what he wanted because that was, in fact, his own choice to make. Same with what happened after of both parents knowing their children were together and making no move to stop it, instead accepting it.
Not only are Patpran more mature but so are their parents. Despite everything, their parents had always wanted the best for each of them and that can also be seen in these last scenes - when they let go of their children - now independent adults capable of making their own decisions which they no longer feel in the right to stop. That's the message there.
There was no way their families could be accepting of their relationship right away - they had to grow, learn and try to make up for their past mistakes - they had to change their mentalities. And time had them do that - 4 years. If there was a time skip of 1 month - I'd entirely get the frustration. But not like this. I feel like this was a better development than I could've expected.

the last episode...WOW
the whole show...WOW
I love how it plays with usual bl cliches and boils them to create something super unique. Bad Buddy has so many impressive aspects, especially how episodes are constructed and actions are developed - very smart moves from GMM
I love ohm and nanon's acting and I love that they were paired up for this - their chemistry is over the roof. Definitely one of my fav BLs ever - I am really impressed.
GMM BLs aren't often my favs, Tale Of a Thousand Stars was the only one that had received a rating above 8.5 so far (I rated it 9.5) and the second best is Fish Upon The Sky at 8.5, from that onwards all GMM BLs I've watched are under 7.5. I have other GMM shows such as The Blacklist and The Gifted ranked higher but those aren't BLs so ><
For me to rate this BL as high as I will (I'm probably giving it a 9), it shows just how much I enjoyed it.

[developed explanation of ep 12 events to people who think of it as bad or couldn't entirely understand the events and time skip in the reply to this comment marked as spoiled below ^^]

So, I've been thinking more about the production design and I wonder if anyone has any theories about the use…
not sure about all uses of color blue but for example, when Shinwoo used a blue rose to draw Taekyung's attention, the meaning of the blue rose is 'mystery' and 'attaining the impossible' - I think they were going for the second idea. Blue in itself has many meanings but I think the most relevant ones here are those of bravery and determination. Blue changes its meaning across many forms, for example, blue ribbons symbolize the best prize while feeling blue has a bad connotation. It's a wide area to explore.
As to Taekyung's makeup I also think it's a way to visually show his character development; how he goes from being extremely pale (which goes hand in hand with his self-assumed invisibility) to a more life-like shade (this increase is bigger once he starts being the object of affection of our male leads) alludes to his own growth and with those around him.

I just searched and...R.I.P to the victim. hope justice gets served. From what I've seen he hasn't been sentenced but he has admitted to the crime. This whole ordeal makes me sick. hope he gets what he deserves and pays for his actions against the victim.
