I thought the drama was all about school bully, corporal punishment and action entertainment but it actually offered more than that. Issues surrounding students, teachers, parents and the education system were well covered with a balanced POV. I also like the way the Education Protection team educated the abusers by placing them in the same situation as victims and forcing them to experience the pain.
Overall the drama was well-paced, with good depth and entertainment value. Performance of actors in each case were good. 9/10 for me.
Problem is the AI content used in this drama was not integrated seamlessly into the storyline, instead its obvious and distracting.. When the outcome is not very satisfying, I'd rather they use AI merely as a lower-cost alternative to CGI/ animation than using it to create full length AI content.
Ju Gang Chan was not well written in latest episodes. Its not a good idea making him the ultimate villain. A chaebol shouldn't possess such immense power, controlling everything, including both the South Korean and North Korean parties. It doesn't make sense for him to betray the entire nation just to take revenge on a man who had forgiven him.
I know its not a political drama where the Korean peninsula conflict was just served as a backdrop, but some political negotiation scenes were just nonsense. Like how could Ju Gang Chan freely talk to the NK representative for cooperation without being noticed by the SK president who was in the same ball room? it didn't make sense at all.
It's a good idea to reinterpret a historical "villainous woman" through reincarnation into the modern era, but unfortunately the story relied too heavily on familiar kdrama tropes and wasted the potential for a fresh and original story. At the end nothing new was offered tho the acting and chemistry were good. It would be more interesting if it's a coming-of-age drama focusing on the female protagonist's growth/ transformation in the new world, with the romance as subplot, and ditch all the boring stuff like the succession war, chaebol dynamics and forced marriage.
The drama is a realistic take on this genre, where the real focus is not about the reveal of culprit but the systematic corruption and incompetency within the authorities. 'Scarecrow' here has multiple meanings than just the serial killer. Tone of the drama is dark and stressful, viewers expecting a satisfying ending and redemption arc may find it difficult to watch. But overall it's very well written, produced and acted.
The concept is refreshing, a potential banger if the script lives up to the idea. Don't end up being a mess like the writer's previous work LND.. No makjang, no cancer/ amnesia plot ok?

A masterpiece imo. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys unique premise and complex characters. The pacing was slow at the beginning, but once the treasure dig kicked in (around EP5), it kept me hooked until the end..
The drama peaked at episode 6 - good pacing, engaging audit cases and well-developed relationship between the main leads. The 2nd half felt like a different drama, no more interesting case but instead having unnecessary love square and cliched succession war which was like something I've watched many times. The chemistry of main couple was good tho, very natural despite the age/ corporate status gap.
Just found out the actor playing Jang Beol Gu [Mokpo gangster leader] was TVXQ's Yunho. Haven't paid much attention to 1st gen K-pop groups before, so he's a complete new discovery for me. His performance in the drama was fantastic.
Overall the drama was well-paced, with good depth and entertainment value. Performance of actors in each case were good. 9/10 for me.
