Title The Double
Does anyone know where I can find Chen Le’s “Live and Love” song on Spotify which plays at the end of each episode? For some reason it’s not in any of the Double OSTs.
On The Atypical Family Jun 20, 2024
There’s now, before and after. It sort of reminds of the question what comes first, the chicken or the egg. LOL. If you don’t try to analyze it too much it is an enjoyable kdrama. I also enjoyed the OST since it was very different and almost had a French vibe.

I’m on episode 12 and I’m starting to think I must be heartless. There is absolutely no storyline that works for me where a mother or father deserts their child but can be forgiven because of the reasons they left or how they now live their lives with guilt and shame. I understand that closure is needed for the child who has now grown to be an adult who has many scars but I cannot stand those stories where a child has basically grown up by themselves, sometimes with abusers, struggling and somehow achieves a somewhat normal life to all of a sudden be confronted by their deserter parent wanting to rekindle a relationship. Somehow they think it can all be washed clean and they can start fresh because they want it. By the way, I don’t mean this to include adoption which I consider an act of sacrifice and love for the child. Am I wrong?

And then to compare a poor parent who could not react fast enough to save her child in an accident due to shock vs her mother who deserted her because was afraid of dying from abuse is not an accurate comparison.

Title Twenty Five Twenty One Spoiler
You should watch dramas without reading spoilers first.... you are feeling depressed at ep 2 because you did that.…
Actually I started reading spoilers after I started it. The first few episodes were pretty sad on their own with the ml’s family issues of bankruptcy and having to live apart, people picking on him and his brother, him getting rejected from every job interview. This is not a fun and hilarious side of life. I finished this kdrama and yes, there were parts along the way that were funny but a lot of the drama was terribly sad, and I’m not even talking about the ending. Was it a good story? Yes but I did a good bit of crying throughout.

I’m only finishing up episode 2 and I’m finding it to be very depressing. Definitely not an 1988 vibe. Please tell me there is more to this kdrama than sadness. I also don’t get the controversy about their age difference. Four years is no big deal and it starts out with her being 18. So it is not like he is an adult taking advantage of a child. The funny thing is that in real life the fl is 4 years older than the ml.

Enjoyed this kdrama very much although some parts were frustrating. I also had a hard time believing that Jung Woo could be so forgiving towards his close friend, Kang Joon Hyuk, who betrayed him , his wife and and his daughter. It was unrealistic.

It was cute and really funny in certain parts. The grandmother was wonderful and the parts with her were so tender. The ML was pretty perfect. Overall an enjoyable kdrama. The best of the best? No!

Ah yes in 2023 she reads about the third incident and when she goes back in time it has not happened yet. Got it! A lot of back and forth lol.

The first time is at the reservoir and she is hit by the car and thrown into the water. The second time is also at the reservoir and she is more prepared and is saved by the ml and the cop. then she returns to the present and sees the witness report about it being in the building near her neighborhood. Just does not make sense. Maybe it will get clearer since I’m only on episode 9. Thanks though for trying to help. lol.

The 1st time in my life that i finished a 70 episodes drama. I probably will never do that again unless it's something…
I agree. I prefer the 16-24 and a rare 40.
On Lovely Runner Jun 1, 2024
I’m confused.Did he save her from the reservoir or that building? Two different scenarios. Did he try to kidnap her in the past twice?
On Story of Yanxi Palace May 30, 2024
I cannot believe that I actually watched 70 episodes of this historical Chinese drama and absolutely loved it. There were portions that were a bit melodramatic but it somehow worked. I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode and then the next and before I knew it I was on episode 70. Really a wonderful drama!

I enjoyed it overall BUT I found part of the ending unrealistic, especially the part about Ling Xiao‘s mother. She was abusive throughout. One suicide note and suicide attempt and whallah…all is forgiven. I just can’t buy it. I think a rating of 8.9 is a bit high. For me it was a solid 8. Like many others, I found the first episodes wonderful and very tender. The romance portion was okay and enough to keep my attention but not as good as the first episodes.

I’m starting episode 5 and there is a lot more story for me to watch. Many dramas out there depict fathers or men as terrible people. Let’s face the fact that there are bad mothers and women out there too.
On The Story of Ming Lan May 17, 2024
Just finished this Cdrama and gave it a rare 10 but I have to say that the last episode towards the end with the stepmother was so over the top and reminded me of the wicked witch of the west(or was it East’s) from the Wizard of Oz. The writing was superb throughout 72 episodes but not so much for episode 73.
On The Story of Ming Lan May 13, 2024
Episode 28 was such an amazing episode in so many ways. The acting by the actors playing Yuan Ruo and Ming Lan were outstanding. It was terribly sad and many of the issues they were facing then are still relevant to all of us today. It was emotional and I actually cried for both these characters. I never thought I would be so invested in a Chinese drama like this, especially one with so many episodes. I have always been wary of those saying something was a masterpiece but so far that is how I feel about the drama. I hope it lives up to that name throughout the rest of this story.
