I had started this awhile ago and even dropped it and said uninterested but I just finished 49 Days and Queen of Tears and really wanted a highly rated drama. It seems many liked this one although long so I thought I would give it another try. I’m enjoying it now although I have to keep going back to understand who is who and what is what. LOL. Some of the dramas out there these days are full of fluff. I also just finished Meet Yourself and loved it, which is surprising. I usually love kdramas and stay away from Chinese contemporary dramas

I’m relieved to read that I am not the only one that is confused over characters in the beginning. I look forward to being enlightened soon. It is not just their given names but the titles are driving me crazy.

This kdrama that was pretty good but then went south at the end. Really awful ending. Yes, I understood what they were trying to say but what a lousy way to show it.

Yucky ending.

I’m trying so hard to enjoy this kdrama but the FL is soooooooooooo dumb and soooooooooo obvious it is driving me crazy. Please someone tell me she smartens up throughout the story!

It was ok but very predictable. I did not find a lot of the characters endearing so I’m surprised it is first in viewership to CLOY. I still can’t figure why the ML loved her so darn much lol.

Can anyone answer this question for me? In an earlier episode Eun Seung says he is use to loss, that he lost a son. I’m on episode 14 and wonder if this is explained by the end? Did this happen in college?

Yes, I agree. It shows a different side of China. I am enjoying the slower pace and really love the male lead. I watched him in Squid Game and enjoyed his role in that one too.

Thank you. I decided to continue to watch it and am now watching episode 25. I agree that there is some but it is subtle compared to some others I have watched. Love is Full of Jiudaowan was the worst. 40 episodes and the last few were all Chinese propaganda and I felt like I had wasted my time watching it. This one is an enjoyable watch so far. Thanks again!

I’m starting episode 10 and enjoying this Chinese drama but I would like to know in advance if there will be a lot of Chinese propaganda throughout the remaining episodes? I don’t want to waste my time on a total of 40 episodes if they will be riddled with tons of propaganda like so many other Chinese dramas. Thank you in advance for updating me on this.

I wanted to like this kdrama. The first two episodes were so confusing. I rewatched them twice and thought that would help but nope it was still confusing. It then started to get interesting and some scenes were really beautiful. At this point I could not understand the low ratings and negative comments. And then episode 14-16 happened and the low ratings and negative comments became clear. Here are two positives throughout…Woo Do Hwan and Kim Kyung Nam. They were great in their roles.

I agree. I’m a big fan of sci-fi and think I have a good head on my shoulders. I usually figure out who did the crime in the middle of most dramas. I’m only on episode 2 and already looking up explanations online, lol. Hard to follow. I’ll keep watching to see if things clear up or it just becomes messier.

I’m enjoying this kdrama but I’m only on episode 14 and wondering how I’m going to get to episode 81! I am also having a hard time with the lack of communication between the characters. Jumong knows the evil deeds of his step brothers but never tells the King. It’s kind of frustrating. In the earlier episodes Jumong tells his mother about an interesting prisoner who has been enslaved for 20 years and is blind…the camera pans to the mother’s face and it looks like a lightbulb goes off…. Could it be her love? Yet, she never goes to check. I think this kdrama could have been cut in half without all this.

Episode 16 was disappointing for me. The kdrama was a solid 8.5 for me until then.

Am I the only one who can’t figure out Han Joo and Jae Hoon? I understand that they cared for one another and it’s okay it was not in a romantic sense but the weird part was when they were at the bar drinking bourbon and he asked her honestly how she felt and she basically said it was his fault his relationship with his ex failed because he tried to make her something she was not. I mean his ex was a violent, obnoxious drunk who ended up sleeping with someone else, so how was their breakup his fault? And why would he ever want to try again with her? Definitely weird for me.

I was just about to post a comment about that as well. It was hilarious. I love Hwang Han Joo. I find her to be the funniest and most relateable. I could not stop laughing.

I’m sulrprised by some of the negative comments here, especially about episodes 11-16. I found this kdrama to be quite good and the later episodes were an important part of the storyline. My only real issue with it was the fact they were doctors and highly educated and yet they actually drank, quite a bit, while taking medication for depression. That is a major no-no.
