Many cut scenes the story was so long and interesting it needed much more episodes it's a pity we had this rushed…
I agree. I really enjoyed the fl and ml relationship and their estrangement did not last very long. The teacher was such a bad character and so many people died unnecessarily because of him and his wife. He deserved to be truly humiliated in front of everyone and not just die an easy death. Really a shame it ended with such a weak ending.
What a shame this was so so good until the last few episodes. I loved the ML and FL sm they were so adorable.…
I agree. The ending was so disappointing. I expected teacher to be totally humiliated at court but that never happened. It was a solid 9 for me until the end…and then it was an 8 only because I really loved the ml.
This cdrama was good (episodes 1-39) but the ending (episode 40) was pretty bad. There were so many options for the ending and this was the best they could do?
Just because something is a fiction doesn't mean it doesn't have to be accurate. They put the past in the 21st…
Why would a writer explain why they did or did not change something so the fanbase would be satisfied it was factual? They have literary license to write anything they want and you the fan have the right to watch it, find fault with it and even not like it. They indicated it was a work of fiction so what else would the writer have to say that would satisfy the fans? It’s fiction, especially the coronation? There is definitely a sensitivity here because of the history between China and Korea but I just don’t know if this justifies the attack on the drama. I saw some of your other comments and there was a lot about this drama you did not like besides the lack of factual accuracy. Was it the best drama I ever saw? No and I really did not expect it to be. Now on to my search for a special drama. I’m always open to recommendations.

It perhaps means more to you than me. I’m not Korean and I watch these dramas for pure entertainment. Unless it specifically says it is a historical drama or a fictional drama based on real events I don’t take them to be completely factual and totally accurate. Even nonfiction can get things wrong sometimes.

“Fiction does not have to be strictly accurate. Because fiction is a product of the imagination. Authors have the freedom to invent characters, settings and events. “ The drama started each episode saying it was a work of fiction. They apologized to quiet the ruckus. As for IU apologizing or crying, take it up with her fan base who is distorting all the facts. Finally, you need to calm down. It is a kdrama, not real life.
Fiction means fiction. It is not fiction based on factual events. It just seems to be a lot about nothing. The performances were enjoyable so I cannot understand why there is all this controversy and the actor was confronted to the point where she apologized and cried. Lighten up everyone.
On episode 18 and the hardest part for me is that the fl just graduated college and all of a sudden she’s taking an active role in these cases and seems to be an expert all of a sudden.
Honestly, I'm only in the beginning of the 2nd episode and I'm already pretty sure I'll be dropping this drama…
I watched it until the end since there was not much to choose from lately and their relationship did change and she did mature somewhat. I found her friend also very annoying and very clingy to his love interest, the second lead female. I ended up rating it an 8 because I felt the ml’s character development was decent. The one thing I really dislike about Chinese dramas though is that many are dubbed and have voice actors, sometimes for the leads. This one did and I wonder how they really can be considered great actors if they have others speak for them, kiss for them. So it was okay but not worth struggling over it.
There are so many annoying characters in this cdrama that I’m limping through it trying to get to the end. Yang Yue is a wimp and he doesn’t know when to give up. Xie Xiao is so immature and self absorbed and makes one mistake after another. Shanggian Xi doesn’t seem to get the fact that Xie Xiao will never love her and pines for him. And Yuan Jin Xia keeps saying Sir Sir Sir a thousand times. The only character that is truly interesting is Lu Yi. He’s smart and steady in nature. I keep debating whether I should stay with it since I have already invested so much of my time watching it already or just drop it and move on.
I know that I am only on episode 4 but I keep coming back to the reviews here and noticing how so many really liked it and loved the acting. I am enjoying it except for the female lead who is really annoying to me. She is really obnoxious and immature and I hope that there is a lot of character development for her throughout this cdrama. She acts overly cute and really does not know her place in the scheme of things so far.
Thank you. I need to remind myself to not even begin any more cdramas exclusively thru iQIYI. I already pay for Netflix, Amazon prime and Viki. And many on Amazon prime are only free with a trial through another application.
I have tried several times to try to find the entire series on YouTube with engsub without any luck. Many are just bits and pieces. Anyone know where I might be able to watch it in its entirety?
On episode 28 and I can’t believe how annoyed I am by a total work of fiction lol. The marquis trusted her when she needed him the most and yet she can’t seem to do the same for him. She actually took Scissors to her own throat to protect the sml and causes her husband to get badly injured. Now she’s crying like a baby and says she has mistreated him. No kidding!
