I’m on episode 36 and just checked to see if this kdrama won any awards the year it came out. I was shocked to see that Han Ji Min won for actress but Lee Seo Jin was only nominated. I mean the first 36 episodes she barely spoke except exclaiming “Your highness”. She was good in the role but the ml was phenomenal. Makes you really wonder about all awards.

The politics is intriguing and extremely intelligent. I’m glad it is not just about romance. It makes you realize the extreme complexities of the palace. If you are looking for more of a romance story this is not it.

I thought it was lovely and I think many of us could use a lovely story these days.

Now on episode 21 and I continue to think she is a piece of work. She’s the one with major issues, not the ml. Totally heartless. I don’t really understand why he is pursuing her when he really did nothing wrong. She basically made him grovel. Eh ending.

I think what upsets me the most is that her friends come first and she never once apologizes to him throughout the cdrama. She really does not treat him well. Meanwhile he bends over backwards for her, apologizes when he loses his temper.

I completely agree with you. I just wrote a comment that I really felt sorry for the ml. If my sons were dating a woman like her I would tell them to run, run fast away from her. Lol.

I am on episode 11 and I have read many comments about this drama so my take on this so far will not go down well lol. I actually feel sorry for the ml. For someone as immature as the fl she certainly knows how to push and pull here. She’s the one with red flags, not him lol.

Just a beautiful cdrama. I wish I could give it a 15. Not only was the cinematography beautiful to watch but I learned so much about China’s diversity. I could watch it again and again and again!

You are only listing the negatives of condo living. I live in one and there are advantages too like everything else. You need to do your due diligence in checking out important info about the association, like how much is in the reserves, before purchasing it.

I really liked this cdrama. I normally steer away from more “contemporary” Chinese dramas because many are riddled with propaganda but I found this to be a more realistic depiction of that time, no matter how bad or good it was.

I’m on episode 16 and just how far does Feng Lin have to go against the female lead for the male lead to finally tell everyone her secret? It’s frustrating.

Yes. It’s ok to move forward even when you are missing and remembering those who you loved that have passed. I thought it was the perfect ending. Full circle.

Yes, you are right. It is a job but if any awards are given out for performances they should get half of the award. Acting is not only what you see but also what you hear.

I’m more against the use of voice actors. If someone else is talking for them then half the acting is really being done by others. I understand it is due to China wanting a certain dialect but perhaps the actor/actree should learn the dialect to perform in a drama.

It’s been awhile that a drama has deserved a score of 10 from me and this one got it. So many are really good in most of the episodes and then fall off at the end. Not this drama. The ending was absolutely perfect and beautifully done.
