I dont rmb which era but i believe either Song or Tang where society was much more open. I think one of the royal concubines or queen was divorced and remarried. So with that example or case i think it's lesser looked down upon on divorced females. I mean the females can be entrepreneurs in this drama( tho they arent of noble or aristocratically born). But like compared to other eras, like maybe qing, where divorce is a dead end for the ladies. They would rather die than divroce.

I heard this is Korean remake of Jane the Virgin, which is purposely made into a Hispanic (americanized) soap opera. So now im intrigued. Haven't watched yet

This is Song dynasty I think? So divorce and remarriage for girls aren't seen as a sin? Since San niang and yinzhang are both divorced but it doesn't seem too much of a bothered for them in the eyes of society.

I was skeptical of this drama and didn't expect myself to like it but I do. This drama oozes elegance, I think it has to do with lyf from the way she talks and the way she walks and dances. So far, this drama is soothing to watch. Also in latest ep I can already soo how they leads have their own spoken language. I liked that they didn't have to speak and can use their body language and eyes to converse across the room, I particularly liked that detail portrayed in this drama.

I feel like i've explained jxsy many times already but I'm not sure if I explained to you. It's just the abbreviated name of brocade in chinese. Idk why she and xz don't collab, but if you see all of xz's female costars are usually inferior to him or less popular and more "new" in the acting industry, other than YZ. If it's not of equal or better popularity than xz, then female lead will get overshadowed by xz in the drama. Thus 7 won't collab with xz anytime soon. Also his fans are too protective of him and I feel like if 7 collab with him then his fans will bash on her. There was once a rumor that 7 was going to take the period drama and xz was the ml. But in the end she didn't take it. It's the period drama he just finished filming with that newb girl. It was rumored 7's manager rejected the script (idk why) before it was even given to 7. Then 7 asked for the script back to read and that was it. Later it was said fl was given to another newb. Some suspected maybe bc that newb actress' company paid for her role bc every person wants to be in a xz drama bc they can get recognized since many watch his dramas.

Heard just today. Maybe she will take it if it's true bc she wanted to do spy type of drama. But i feel like she already chose a drama. Bc she chose momo before filming jxsy

minning town aired 2021. I didn't watch but it was also popular in china. It's a rural type of drama about relocating and establishing a town. not those romcom or romance drama. So not my type. I'm not sure if it's propaganda involved or historically. Never watched it. but I believe it won awards or got nominated like best script etc, I obvoiusly sint doing its justice describing the drama since I never watched and only saw one scene where the actress cried and apparently that was the IT scene that got her recognition and applauds...but I didn't see the affect of it

agreed, also everyone thought the winner would be the actress from Mining Town. But nope. so many were bitching at the winner thinking she doesn't deserve

minglan is good. But I found zly's acting somewhat awkward at times. It's definitely the side characters that really carried the drama, or made it amazing. It's one of the few dramas, where all characters did amazing bc they are all veterans. Nothing gold can stay is ok, the fl reminded me of xiaoyianzi in pearl princess. I also thought sunli's acting, at least in the begining for the character, to be too much.

That's how china is, and I find it very superficial. I've read comments that playing jj's character is hard because choosing a young actress to play might not have the experience and skills to play the adult version. More experienced actresses might not be able to play the preteen since they may not look the part and they may not be able to play the innocent mischevious part of a child naturally. So 7 is the best pick. She has the expereince of an actress yet also looks the part of a preteen. I thought she played the an adolescent really well, from the way she walked and how she act reminds me of a child that's carefree and mischevious, one that's raised with love and doted on, as it was in the drama by her fathers and brothers. I think the beginning of the story, especially the characters, set up really well for the latter half. They have already built characteristics and shown their personalities as teens, so we somewhat know who they are in adulthood.

I feel like that big fl role is similar to nothing gold can stay which I wasn't very interested in. But I heard it could be somewhat similar to minlan, so idk. The other period, where it's about fl starting out as a slave or criminal and then becoming the country's first female official also have love interest with the king. I find that maybe a bit more to my style just bc I feel like there's more romance involved. While the other drama is more about fl's growth and her overcoming struggles to save her family.
