Bro joking? It's almost all set perfectly. Every force is strong in its own way, and people don't lack in common…
I say about a decade for me with mainland/cdramas but I started with hk dramas as a young kid since my family is Chinese. Then ventured to Taiwanese dramas with eng subs. And slowly I was proficient enough with Mandarin that I don't need eng subs anymore. watching dramas definitely heloedbwuth my Chinese language since reading Chinese subtitles helped a lot too.
Can someone spoil it for me and tell me does all of xfn's siblings die or alive in the novel. I know the youngest brother's destiny. But what about the sisters.
Well that sucks, I had hoped maybe he would live after the great battle with Xian later. I'm going to cry bullocks in s2. I have to be mentally ready myself since at least half the characters will die.
As I am nearing to the end, Every scene gets me sentimental. When Sword Master accepted the letter form Zhao Kai, I was disappointed, but understood, the meaning behind it. But seeing how Sword God told the truth to xfn, it was a big sigh of relief, and then seeing the other girl letting xfn also. I always thought she can't be 100% trusted, I'm not surprised if she betrays but seeing that she's so flexible in life haha.
I do not speak Chinese so whether he has accent or not it doesn't bother me. I am glad that they used his real…
You are lucky you don't understand/speak Chinese so it doesn't bother you. I know he's a good actor, that I have no critiques on, it's just makes me very disengage whenever he speaks. I read a comment that the original novel, ml is from Guangdong so I guess it's a valid explanation. Though the director really should've done better in letting the audience know that background of ml. Also, younger version of ml speaks Mandarin fluently and then suddenly adult version cant? Would've been better in having younger version speak somewhat broken Mandarin as well. I think these details the director could've done better.
in other sites, it's explained that Nie Yusheng is supposed to have come from a place with Wallace's accent that…
I read a comment about this on yt, the person explained that in the novel ml was from Guangdong. Ok, I'll give him that, but director should've put in more detail or effort in letting audience know this information. Not everyone read the novel. Also, younger version can speak fluently but older version ml can't? That's not congruent
Do we have to wait for 300yrs for the season 2 to air just like “Princess agents and tribes and empires: storm…
Well, princess agents isn't going to happen since fans only want original cast and zly isn't willing or doesn't want to film it. Kenny said he has no say in this since it has to be up to zly's nod. I don't think s2 of sss will take too long. Most likely will happen within 3 years?? I'm basing this on Jol2 since jol2 will begin filming this year and air next year
WTH? Xuanyuan jingcheng wife jump into the unknown?
Yea, I was kinda mad about that. What right does she have to do that. She wasn't a good wife and it doesn't seem like a good mother either. She just sulked the whole time and kissing her boo boo. Idk if she was forced into the marriage but her husband respected her decisions and never forced her to do what she didn't like. She's a depressing character and so done and tired with life. She was probably ready to end it just for herself.
as a foreigner, we rarely see chinese dramas with this type of story... we just get idol romance and some historics/wuxia
Actually, that's not entirely correct. There are other genres like military/war, republican/japanese invasion/propaganda, lifestyle, medical, mystery/cops. It's just that we tend to not venture to these types bc it doesn't interest us. I guess I can't speak for everyone but for me. I don't tend to venture to these bc I like romance more. I have zero intersts in war and politics. I like romance and fantasy more, but as I mature, I've gotten sick of those nonsense idol dramas and leaning towards those with more quality acting and script that has more substances. But the trend in cdrama has changed in retrospect. I rmb I watched a lot of royal harem drama a decade ago. Now, there's parely any.
Bro joking? It's almost all set perfectly. Every force is strong in its own way, and people don't lack in common…
As a person that has watched cdrama over a decade now, this type of ml character and plot is so refreshing. I'm sick of the same stagnet ml that's a goodie two shoe. Xfn's journey is long bc he just started...he went from 0 to starting martial arts. He saved himself many years since this master transfered his essence to him. Many higher elite levels/phases of masters are 100yrs old and their journey to where they are now are long and hard. You think getting powers and status to their level is quick and easy? It makes sense that xfn's journey would be long and turbulant.
I don't agree with your view that ml should be righteous. Why should he be righteous all the time, it's stupid and tiring for veiwers to see that in a male character. xfn is intelligent, he doesn't do things that aren't benificial to him (that's how his father taught him) if he does then he can put Northern Liang in jepeordy. There's a time and place for everything, including saving or helping others. He adapts and integrate to his environment to survive. Pretty smart to me. It shows he's can be rightous but not anal about it when time comes. He's flexible which is an important social skill. I like his character which is a little naughty, pompous and egotistical (with reason giving his background, I mean he is heir to the world's largest army that everyone fears. Heck I think he's pretty humble about it and doesn't sploit the power he or his dad has), but also empathetic, stubborn, and understanding. He's able to put himself in other people's shoes. I think this kind of character, not all white or black but inbetween. I don't like ml where he is good all the way through, there's no character development. This is a world where everyone can die, especially the weak. Death is so common in that world since most know martial arts and everyone seems to like to battle each other. So people have to get used to death coming their way and to the people around them.
His sevants are there to fight for him, life or death. They must protect him at all cost bc the death of xfn will cause chaos in the world. xfn knows what his life is worth so why would he risk himself? He knows what's happening and if things go bad there's the Sword God to help. He's not strong enough to battle, he only has the essence but doesn't know to retract it and use it. It's thx to Sword God's teaching that he's slowly learning some techniques. So I don't think xfn should be in a place to put himself in danger when he has help. Also. he's supposed to be aloof and weak to the world (again survival of the fittest).
I don't think it's savage at all to save the beast's babies. His servant grandpa said the beast is dieing and can't be saved, he even suggested to skin the scales of the beast to use as armor (that was a bit cruel to me, but given the situation it's pretty practical). xfn said no to the armor and to let the beast die in one piece. If he didn't cut open her stomach her babies would suffocate and die, and the beast fought hard to protect her babies. Beast basically begged him to take her babies. Did you not see the part where the grandpa mentioned that baby beasts will acknowledge the first person/beast they see as parent, inferring that once baby beasts open their eyes and see xfn first then they will become his pets. But xfn didn't want that, he wanted the babies to see their mom first but the mom beast told him to take that chance instead. Hypotheically, if a human pregnanet mom gets into a car crash and is dieing, but her baby is still alive, shouldn't doctors open her up to save the baby?? would you call these doctors cruel?? So should the doctor just let both mom and baby die?
Perhaps you weren't really watching this drama and just watching it superficially. I actually see that a lot from foreigners bc of the language barrier. Even with subs, you and others lack the underlying or multiple meanings of one action or dialogue. I feel like you would enjoy more happy idol romance dramas, they are more straightforward and parallel. Everyone has preferences, and this type of genre maybe isn't yours which is perfectly fine.
I hope they would improve choreography part better, everything else is fine but essence of wuxia is focused on…
this isn't a wuxia, it's actually a xuanhuan. An example is Journey of the Flower, that's xuanhuan. Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre is a wuxia. I at first was complaining about the fighting choreography, but it's not too bad now.
agree, he's very cocky and a know it all. he gets a little bit better at the end, but still...
Survival of the fittest. In the very beginning, he's at a disadvantage so he's just adapting and integrating to his environment to survive. Pretty smart to me. It shows he's can be rightous but not anal about it when time comes. He's flexible which is an important social skill. I am sorry to heart that, what are you looking forward from this drama? Maybe I can try to help you enjoy this…
You can give Reset a try. I'm currently enjoying it. A mystery, suspence thriller. Sure the plot and concept isnt anything new, Hollywood has a bunch, but it's a first in cdrama. I think it's done quite well.
Very enjoyable drama. Love the plotting and scheming. Wish the fight scenes were less "magic" and more actual…
That's the difference between xuanhuan and wuxia. I at first thought this was wuxia until I saw people mentioning it's actually xuanhuan, which is a world inbetween xianxa (gods, diety, heaven gods) and wuxia (sectors, martial arts world). A popular example is Journey to the Flower. This xuanhuan, SSS, is definitely different in that the main character isn't from any sector but from a non sector/royalty. Usually xuanhuan focuses heavily on one sector and have the fl/ml venture out to the world to gain insight, experience, love, friends etc.
as long as they don't change the actors/actress, screen writer and director. nothing can go wrong
I heard rumors that JiangNi's actress will change bc internet isn't happy with the current actress. Also, Qing Niao might change too, which most aren't happy about it so Idk why they are changing it. I quite like the actress for QingNiao. Also Teresa is growing on me, sure she isn't the best choice for JiangNi, but it feels weird to change fl. it would feel like a different drama.
