SAAAMMEEE! I haven't chased a drama since 2024. I was watching immortal ascension but I wasn't this in to it as this drama. I'm not even a particular fan of Aurthur, yet this drama he did well.

Honestly, her reaction would be mine. She's from the modern world, and killing people is not an everyday thing that anyone is trained to do or see irl. Watching movies with murder plots is different than actually killing someone or even an animal. I rmb I was freaked out seeing a truck full of dead pigs hanging when I was walking down Chinatown. Sima's environment was and is surrounded by survival of the fittest, death is simple and common, and honestly no one bats an eye bc it's a cultivation world. She came in to this fantasy world hoping to just take a vacation from real life, If she was of that world and acts how she is then yea I would be annoyed

I am sick to my stomach, these horrible selfish cultivators forcing people to consummate to bear offsprings for power, doesn't matter if they are siblings are not just to harvest their blood and essence. No different than modern human trafficking for organ harvesting.

I feel so bad for Sima, his whole life is tortured by this and he is a product of this, yet he can't save his clan or himself. His only resolution is to kill everyone and himself so no one can benefit.

I think the producers or director wasn't just looking for an actress that just fits the physical aspects, but also the temperament and personality of XiangLan. I agree ss isn't the beauty queen like reba, but she's soothing to the eye, and comfortable to look. Her actual personality is actually very mature, thoughtful, and introverted too. And XiangLan is introverted and solemnly speaks.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. I've read the book and whether she rebirth/reincarnates it won't affect or change her personality or story line. Why? bc she's not rebirthed or reincarnated to the same timeline or year, but it's at least a decade later after what happened to her family. Some stories happen where characters are rebirthed a decade or x amount of years to w/e event that happened and they try to prevent it. But, for this novel, things already happened and there's no way to change it. She will just continue her life with memories of her past, it's like reincarnation but she didn't drink the memory loss soup when crossing the bridge kinda thing. There's no way to revenge bc her family was just unlucky to be caught up with politics and there were just sacrificial lambs. The main reason for her rebirth is of her still retaining her education, mannerism, personalty and characteristics, skills etc as a noble lady and that transfers her as a maid. So in the drama even if she just takes a different identity, it's still fine.

There could possibly be part 2. It's quite common for cdramas to have part 1 and part 2 now since govt made a rule to fit 40eps. I rmb back in the days a drama can have 60-70 eps
