I couldn't care less about the final

Every time Joonyoung PD made a new variety show, there's a big probability that I will like it (I really love The Great Escape in fact). The first season of Devil's Plan is good, so that's why I give this one a watch. Out of 12 episode, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗱. Consequentially, when it comes to the finale, I couldn't care less about the last two players.

As a character, Hyun-gyu is really a strong opponent. Manipulative and nonchalant. He asked and he shall receive. He asked Sohee and Kyuhyun to side with him, and they did. He wanted to make it to the final with Sohee by keeping her #2, she just did without questioning why she should be kept in check by being #2. He just... have his ways. You can see this especially in the Halloween Monster game.

Sohee, on the other hand... oh she pissed me off but not as bad as Hyun-gyu. Simply because she can't ever stand her ground and so emotionally affected.

But that doesn't mean it's a good TV.

Sorry, I have to put out my hot take. It just so boring that we knew right away who the winner will be. Then again, it's a reality TV game show. So, he earned it.

Gameplay wise, comparing to the first season, I don't like how the prison thing is being set up. In S1, you only have 2 people in prison and yeah true that it didn't really affect things in the main game about the alliance and whatnot, but somebody that just out of prison could make a secret alliance in the main living room as they told them about the secret in the prison room.

Here in S2, it's so clear that the gameplay is all about underdogs vs topdogs. Ha... what a waste. As you can see, the change in underdogs vs topdogs dynamics only just begin halfway through the show and honestly, it's not a big change either that will give a good twist like riot or dramatic betrayal or whatever.

If there's ever S3, I hope it starts with alliance-based games, then a mix of team & solo games in the middle, and finishes strong with solo battles.
