Oh I see. That's why I couldn't tolerate this drama. My silly little brian was dead the whole time .. :-(
Hey Ayahuasca! Sorry if my comment made it seem that way though nowhere did I say that is the sole reason for others not liking the drama haha. I simply gave my own opinion on this drama based on my experience with it and other dramas I've watched in the past. A lot of them were sufficient at allowing me to watch without working too much (mentally) on keeping up with the story. The same appears for many other drama watchers based on comments and reviews I've read in the past.

If you don't like this drama despite understanding what's going on, that's perfectly alright! Obviously not everyone has to enjoy it or, as you say, "tolerate it". But I've seen a lot of more negative comments here about people not understanding the story and that the screenwriter did a bad job, etc. when the answers to their confusion is literally explained haha.

Have a great day!

Beautiful in-depth description of this drama. I totally love it and it is not a drama for the faint of heart.…
Thanks for the reply back! I totally agree with you!

I also wonder the same about Doom, but we have three episodes to learn more. I'm hoping we learn more about him because I feeling like we don't know as much as we probably could and should know. But maybe that's just me haha.

Title Doom at Your Service Spoiler
I just finished today's episode and the amount of times I teared up was ridiculous. This was one of the most beautiful episodes ever!!! It was sooooo emotional and heartbreaking from start to end. The moments where I nearly lost it were when TDK had her hair curled for "the last time" before asking the stylists to shave her hair; her dream where Doom was crying hard at her funeral; when Doom lowkey recreated their earlier encounters as pieces of his memory with her flashed by; the scene when TDK officially remembered everything as well as Doom when his garden came back to life! That ending nearly got me bawling!

But it does lead me to the question of, what was the point of them losing their memories of each other?? Was it to make them realize that there's no changing their fates? I'm only guessing this from tomorrow's episode preview. So far, this drama has been good about making sense of past actions (if the watcher pays close attention anyway) so I'm holding hope for a logical reason to this huge amnesia troupe that was taken to the next level so late in the game. Also, did the deity officially die again? Where is she now as she's always coming back? What about the flower in the pot? Where that is, so is the deity. What is she going to do about this? What \can\ she do?

Can I also just say TEAM JOO IK ALL THE WAY?! I know he has his flaws and has yet to properly apologize to Ji Na for the way he behaved towards her in the past, but good Lord I'm all for them! The way he is so forward and honest with her now (no holding back), I actually dig it! I am so glad Ji Na is telling Lee Hyun where her feelings stand so he can finally let her go (and vice versa). They both loved each other's past selves. While he wants to "go back to the start", she realizes there's nothing good in that. That Joo Ik has taken the place Lee Hyun once filled.
I also want to add that TDK's brother in this episode was hilarious! Especially when he found out that his boss was Wanted-to-kill #1 and went "Oh no boss". I was literally laughing out loud!

But on a serious note, this episode literally messed with my head and heart. It was sooo emotional and I was legit holding my breath towards the end of it. I couldn't move or look away. I was taking in every detail. Truly spectacular! I especially loved how, in Doom's subconsciousness after he kissed TDK, all their moments prior to the memory loss came flooding back, starting with her smiles and ending with their hand holding from episode 1/2 when she "signed" the contract with him. I almost cried and repeated "wow" over and over again. One of the most beautiful scenes I've ever watched.
And the way Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young acted...whew-wee! I was mesmerized. Especially Seo In Guk when he called her after their memories were restored. His acting was ON POINT! Good Lord! I can go on and on about it but I will spare you all the details haha.

I can honestly understand how this drama isn't everyone's cup of tea. I really do because this drama isn't one to watch if you want to shut your brain off. I've said it before and I'll say it again- this drama is one that makes you think without a narrow mind. It's a very thought-provoking drama that requires your full attention. But because of that, I'm loving every single second of it. Even the second leads' love triangle that I thought was utterly pointless is becoming meaningful to me. I honest to God cannot wait to see what the final 3 episodes bring us. Based on the preview for tomorrow's episode, we are possibly going to see Doom sacrificing himself so TDK can live. But will the deity allow it? Will TDK really live? The deity even said in the previous episode that her [TDK] fate was to die. I'm curious to see what will happen and how the screenwriter will tie everything up. Fingers crossed for a satisfactory ending, be it happy, sad, or bittersweet! I just hope it'll do the whole drama justice.

Completely agree! I haven't watched the newest episode yet either, but it looks like a lot is going on! I was actually in the same boat as those commenters about the whole memory reset. It was a troupe I didn't think necessary either in this drama, but depending how it pans out in the following episodes, it might make sense. Only one way to find out haha.

And agreed about the theory but all evidence is pointing to being human haha.

JOJO! I literally gasped at your theory! But let me address the other parts of your comment real quick haha.

Okay, so I agree that the moments between MM and TDK were sweet enough to give anyone diabetes. It was slow, I'll admit, but oh so important if you take into account the theme of this drama and the dilemma and characteristics of our main leads. I found TDK talking to him about her life and family and friends really important because she's officially letting him into her heart. Seeing her smiling, laughing, reminiscing about the good old days to him was literally the cutest! And him watching her, and I quote you "as if she's the only thing that matters", was so spot on! The smile, the hint of sadness in his eyes...I literally kept sighing and swooning and whimpering. There was one scene where he said "I'm no longer alone" while staring at her, and I literally went "No!" because I had a funny suspicion of something going wrong for him! And in comes the preview for episode 12 where I literally punched my pillow!

Speaking of that preview, I really don't get why the deity would do that! What is the point?? I know she's all for humans and literally lives and dies for them, but what is the reason for getting involved with TDK that way? Is it because she's the change for Doom? I can kind of see why TDK would agree to that offer since it's what she wanted, but at the same time, why would see agree? All these people, Doom especially, love her and support her despite what is happening (AND VICE VERSA!!) and she's going to accept?? Whyyyyy? We all know they'll still end up together with memories restored, so why put us through the anguish! Grrr! But honestly, I'm not going to jump to conclusions and I'm hoping there will be a valid reason for this other than to move the story along. DAYS has been good at that, so we'll see.

Going back to your theory, HOLY SHOOT! Like I said in the beginning of this comment, I literally gasped at the possibility of it! That would be a twist. But I lowkey don't think that will happen. The deity seems to have been the same since the beginning, and the way she talks to Doom about his role makes me think he is the current Doom from a line of them. Him loving and having pity on humans now might be more in line with his humane side coming out. Wanting to live and die together with TDK sounds more human rather than deity-ish, ya know?

But overall, I'm still excited to see how this is going to pick up! I think we needed the slow paced episodes we've been having to really settle in with the characters and the situation they're facing. I'll admit, I've started getting interested in the second leads lately and can't wait to see what happens with them. Though this episode really made me go "what the heck!" xD

Hi Foxyjo! The actual murderer was Lee Man Ho who acted on the orders of Assemblyman Ko, so you're not really wrong about the assemblyman. But the reason for Lee Man Ho doing it was because the assemblyman had knowledge of his son's whereabouts and promised to let him know (which was a lie). And Assemblyman Ko wanted Joon Hwi's uncle killed because he was going to admit to the hit-and-run accident which would have exposed Ko as an accomplice or the person who was actually at fault (as shown in the last couple episodes or so). That would hinder his advancement as the president.

Hope that clears up some confusion!

Thank you for your comment! DAYS really does have a mix of all types of comments, be it positive, negative, or more indifference. A wide range of people are here and that is actually good. But at the same time, I feel like it's important for more unbiased comments (like what I tried to do) to give incoming and/or hesitant watchers a chance to prepare themselves. This drama really isn't like other dramas out there that usually have a villain or created to shut their minds off. Quite contrary, this makes us think, theorize, and try to figure out what the meaning is behind a certain dialogue, thought, or action. It's thought provoking and requires our full attention otherwise we might miss something key to future episodes.

I also agree about what to do once this drama ends :'( This was the only reason for me looking forward to Mondays LOL! But we still got about 3 weeks to go so let us enjoy it to the fullest haha!

I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
I'm sorry but I had to make it that extensive in order to properly address your comment LOL! But I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Regarding the love triangle team, it really does seem like Ji Na isn't aware of how she's being treated. I wouldn't go as far as saying she's being manipulated by the two guys, but she most certainly isn't being given the space she needs. Maybe physically she did, but mentally and emotionally she's been invested in these two guys for nine years. She never got the closer she probably needed, especially a lack of answer from the cafe owner who wasn't mature enough to talk things out with her and just ran. It didn't help that the team leader had to step in. So overall, I would like for her to pass on both of them and settle down with someone new, but only after she gets the closure she needs.

As for your theory, I agree! When Joo Ik asked the question of "Do you think I'm human?", bells went off in my head, but again, he did nothing so far that displays a supernatural element. He does everything, thus far shown, as a human would, but my question is, doesn't the deity too? Wait. Holy shoot. I just had a thought that ties into the theory/analysis you sent me. What if, a HUGE WHAT IF, he's tied into one of the three main gods from the Hindu mythology the author mentioned? What if he's like Vishnu "the preserver"? Wasn't he trying to preserve Ji Na's peace and sense of mind when it came to his "brother"? What about TDK? Wasn't he trying to preserve her at work when he helped her during moments she couldn't work??? So we have Brahma 'The creator" - deity in the hospital; Shiva 'the destroyer' - Doom; and possibly Vishnu now?? My mind is utterly blown right now at the possibility. Wow. Anyway, moving on lol!

I also don't understand how people are saying they don't see or feel the chemistry though that is perfectly okay too. Personally, I literally felt it between our main leads since the beginning to be honest, and it keeps getting stronger. People also say they don't understand when they "fell in love" exactly, but isn't that in reality too? People often ask the person they're dating, "When did you fall in love with me?"
The answer is usually "I don't know" or "along the way" I suppose. There isn't always a definite answer.
With Doom and TDK, it was steady but explosive because of their unique nature and fate with each other. They literally are two puzzle pieces that fit together. It would be unnatural, in my humble opinion, if they took time to confess or act on their feelings for each other. Not to mention there's a time limit on both of their lives right now.
But going onto that ramen scene, YESSSS! I literally screamed and had this baffled smile on my face because I couldn't believe Doom said that. Though, knowing his character, it was completely something he'd do! So it was both a shock but not really. I just didn't think he'd be so frank about it lol!

As for my take on TDK, I'm so glad I gave you a fresh perspective of the whole ending of episode 10! My girl really did come a long way, and it was all thanks to Doom. Who knew destruction can help with reconstruction? LOL! But I agree. I'm so glad Doom is by her side and actively pushing her (without crossing a line) to be more honest not only with him, but herself honestly. When you bottle everything up inside, you tend to lie to yourself that everything is okay when in reality, it isn't (speaking from experience here lol). So I'm very glad he didn't leave her alone for long and went to her again. She needed that to finally let the tears flow.
I also love your comparison of DAYS and TFIOS because it does resemble each other in this aspect. To have "forever in a number of days". Truly hauntingly beautiful. I really can't wait to see if he actually will save her though and if it might happen with his sacrifice as others have been speculating.
I'm also glad my take on the deity provided a way for you to better understand her actions, especially when it comes to Doom. I could very well be wrong, but at the same time, I don't think so? I mean, when it's with scenes of just her, she's all for the relationship between Doom and TDK.

Thank you for your sweet words! I also love having these discussions with you. It really does make watching this drama more fun! Let's do that and we can also continue these discussions in private messages if you want lol!

Thank you as well! I'm so glad we're seeing eye to eye on these things. Sometimes, in life, there really isn't a villain trying to mess everything up. Sometimes it really is the uncontrollable. The deity in this show isn't a villain. I feel like she is still this huge question mark on where she stands, but being someone who lives for humans, she cannot be biased and choose her favorites. She's telling TDK to love Doom and live, probably because TDK is the reason for Doom's change. The deity appears to want Doom to grow and "fully bloom" based on the scenes we get of her, but at the same time, she challenges Doom. She makes him question his thoughts, feelings, decisions, etc. But isn't that what brought him to TDK eventually? I feel like her pushing him makes him resolved in his decisions after simmering the thoughts. Idk. That's my opinion.

But yes, I think TDK needed to have that break up scene in order for her to really realize how far the people around her are willing to go for her. I mean, Doom came after her and told her the words she probably wanted to hear for the longest of times! And then she finally broke down and admitted to her desire of living. The ending really broke my heart of today's episode because of how raw and realistic it was. Next week's episode looks like it'll be heart shattering as well, but it's better to get things out in the open rather than bottling it up inside (speaking from personal experience here).

I’m going to start with the love triangle. I don’t think the café owner is a bad guy. However, I find him…
OMG there's so many words rushing through my mind right now in response to your post so what I need to do is take a deep breath and dissect it according to your sections LOL! Here we go!

Love triangle (Romantic aspect):
I agree that the cafe owner is not a bad guy. And neither is Team Leader if I'm being honest. There's so much hate going on for these two men, it's almost sickening. But it's not also really without reason. Like you said, cafe owner is not a bad dude, but he's just very selfish and thinks he can do whatever he wants without concerns of how other people are affected or feel in the matter. Didn't the writer chick comment on that a few times too? The fact that he decided to run away without talking to her, expect things to stay the same, and then to jump back in a relationship with her because "he liked her first"...it's all very wrong and he obviously hadn't matured during the past nine years. Just saying.
Regarding Team Leader, we can see he's interested in the writer though he hasn't been vocal about it one bit. However, actions do speak louder than words, and his actions, while with her best interest in his mind to a certain extent, have also been intrusive and decisive when they have no relationship at all other than professional at this time. Kissing her to distract her from cafe owner and not being apologetic is a pretty d*ck move. But even so, he's more honest with her (during this episode), and he laid his cards down in front of her. This, in my book, makes him a better candidate for her if she were to choose out of the two romantically. If there is an option for neither, I say go with neither because she deserves someone who will really love and cherish her and not mess with her head, heart, and emotions.

Love triangle (relationship with main leads):
I love your theory regarding this part of the love triangle's seemingly separate story from the main leads. The love triangle team are indeed ill-fated and have been since the beginning of their story. This part just opened up a whole theory for me (regarding current Doom dying and a possibility of a new one being born). Here it is:
A lot of people are already saying Team Leader might not be a human but rather someone like Doom (supernatural). It makes me wonder if the writer will end up choosing the cafe owner and Team Leader will become the next Doom? I mean, in the beginning of episode 7 (was it?) when Doom was standing on a rooftop in a white shirt overlooking a city? I had a funny feeling it was him prior to his doom days and he may have committed suicide? I don't know. This is my speculation. Not saying Team Leader would do anything drastic like that. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to take that step. However, the possibility that if the writer chooses the cafe owner might open up a door for Team Leader to accept the position of doom has been on my mind. I could be waaaaay off and probably am, but theorizing it is fun lol.

Main leads:
I was seriously eating up EVERY. SINGLE. SCENE with the two of them in today's episode. I swear, they are the second couple I practically have non-stop cheesing and laughing moments from how utterly ADORABLE they are! (the first couple is from a c-drama called "Moonlight"!) The chemistry between Doom and TDK is literally no joke. Now that Doom officially accepted his feelings for TDK, he's so straight forward while TDK is now shy. I was cackling at those scenes! Example was when she went to his house, held the pot, and he backed her into a wall. Kyaaa! Also, when the ramen scene happened, I practically screamed. But what did make me scream was when Doom made the comment "You would be in trouble if I was serious" with that...that LOOK (idk how to really describe it) on his face. I couldn't believe my eyes and literally had to rewind it to make sure I didn't imagine it! Naughty Doom indeed! Also, cherry on top was his jealous moments when guys got near TDK and held onto her. I cackled like a witch when he tried tripping the young author in the restaurant because he held TDK's hand (despite doing that to sign an autograph on her palm LOL)! Doom is literally the definition of "cute".
But towards the middle/end of the episode, their interactions took a more melodrama turn purely because the glaring truth of TDK's situation was catching up to her. And Doom, who has become so perspective of her, was able to see just what she was thinking and feeling by observing her. Not just the incoming doom (no pun intended) on her life, but even on Myeol Mung's life too. The way I actually see his "unraveling" so to speak, is kind of like Man Wol from Hotel del Luna once she started having feelings for Chan Sung. The tree blossoming signaled the end of her days on earth just like the sprouting flower in the deity's pot is signaling Doom's changing heart and therefore, the possible end of his days on earth too (or it could be just his supernatural position).
But the dialogue between them really is special and does take a considerable amount of time to really grasp what is trying to be said. I had to rewind quite a few times during this episode to see what the character was trying to say with their cryptic and seemingly superficial words. But they aren't superficial. The characters themselves are very complex, so how can their words be easy?
As for the miscommunication that happened in today's episode, I really couldn't blame anyone for it, especially TDK. For years she swallowed her tears and hid her pain so the people around her that she loved wouldn't suffer even more. As someone who doesn't easily share my inner thoughts and feelings either, I could really relate to it, especially if was highly practiced for years. That cannot be fixed just because you "love" someone. It takes time, patience, and the constant support and understanding from loved ones to finally feel okay talking it out. I'm not saying I experienced anything remotely close to what TDK did, but I had my own experiences that prevented me from being more open and vocal of my thoughts and emotions. My mindset is, "I can take care of this myself. I don't want to burden anyone with it since they have their own problems to deal with". It's probably what TDK was thinking this whole time! So saying "let's break up", "never see you again", is her way of saving both herself and them the heartache though it's too late for that.
As for Doom, I feel he's very similar to TDK in the aspect of not being very open about his darker thoughts. We as viewers saw hints of his past from his earlier Doom days, but we still don't know enough about him if you ask me. But unlike TDK, he does give hints of certain things happening in his life such as him dying and disappearing and wanting to do that with her. My question is, (it just occurred now), what if him saying he'll save her is not really meant as actually "saving her"? What if he means he'll save her metaphorically and where she won't die alone but they really do die together? I'm probably jumping off the bandwagon with this theory, but I don't know. Writing all this and recalling certain events in the show really makes me wonder now lol.
But the quotes you shared are really spectacular and I think really encompasses these two characters and their "fate" with each other.

Story:
I also really love this drama (it's the first one I'm really getting involved with online tbh), and cannot wait to see how it progresses now that there are 6 episodes left to go. I would love to have this as a book as well since I think it can really stress the details and make more sense, but this drama is doing great so far!

Next episode:
We are most certainly going to be in for a rollercoaster ride in this upcoming episode. The deity is still this huge question mark on where she stands, but being someone who lives for humans, she cannot be biased and choose her favorites. Either way, I also cannot wait to see how the story continues to unfold!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I always love seeing your comments because I feel we're on the same page and can really see things in a similar lens and share our own take on the show.

I freaking love your comment! It is so accurate! It kind of ties in with a comment I made yesterday regarding no actual villain being present in this show. It is literally "fate" that befalls our characters and how it affects them individually as well as their relationship with people around them. This drama isn't the typical one where there is a definite answer to problems or someone/something to blame. No. This one is more personal, more thought evoking, and, like you said, more feeling based. The push and pull, the spur of the moment decisions even though to us viewers it looks pathetic because we know it's not possible, it is all so relatable if we try to put ourselves in the characters' shoes.

I mean, in today's episode, we got the overused "let's break up" troupe a lot of dramas pull. Let me add that I absolutely loathe this troupe because "what's the point if you're going to end up together again?" is what I ask myself. HOWEVER, DAYS literally had me nodding along with it despite feeling frustrated. I KNEW where TDK was coming from and why she was doing it despite also knowing it won't work the way she hoped. It's also why I was rooting for Doom to hurry and get to her side to make sure she doesn't try to carry the weight on her own anymore. When she finally broke down before him after YEARS of bottling everything up, I nearly bawled my eyes out too. My heart felt so heavy for her and her desperate cry of "wanting to live with everyone". I believe that step (saying they should break up) was necessary for her to finally realize how sincere Doom is for her. We saw he finally accepted his feelings for TDK and wouldn't leave her alone, but now she needs to take that next step too.
