I thought the romance would feel forced since it only has four episodes, but I was wrong. Everything is flowing so naturally that it feels like time doesn’t even pass while I’m watching. SeaKeen are the best!!
So far there haven't been any explicit scenes in TNP so whatever the ratings it's not based on that. It will be…
Yes, you're right. Even though the pilot had a certain erotic tone, there's nothing explicit so far. I didn’t mean to compare TNP with any other NC series, but rather to point out that (unfortunately) there are many people who only watch BL for the more explicit scenes.
It's frustrating to know that many viewers simply ignore the entire production and only care about the intimate scenes, which sometimes makes the ratings a bit unfair.
One does not exclude the other. You can have nicely done NC scene and still a very good plot so comparing ratings…
You're right, I expressed myself poorly. My intention was never to compare these series, but rather to emphasize that there's no reason to direct unmet expectations at the actors, you know? Nunew is being judged for his acting, and the same goes for Zee.
Anyway , it seems you misunderstood my comment. I apologize. Unfortunately, a large part of the audience watches BL purely out of fetish. That was the point. Ratings here on MDL are sometimes unfair because of that (I'm not generalizing, just pointing out that this really happens).
Once again, I apologize for the misunderstanding. Comparing series with different scripts and purposes doesn't make any sense.
I would argue it's the setting of the plot rather than the plot itself, because while the story so far seems a…
I agree with you on that point. I've always liked stories with deeper themes, sensitive topics, and so on. One example (in my opinion) is "High School Frenemy". Lots of suffering, lots of misunderstandings, but definitely a SUPER well-written script.
Well, I didn’t start watching TNP because of the plot, you know? It’s definitely one of those series where I make an exception to fully enjoy the scenery and the songs. I’ve always been obsessed with royalty themes—TNP feels like a dream come true for me
I came here just to check the rating for TNP and I’m a bit impressed…Ironically, the most highly rated BLs this year are the ones with the spiciest scenes. Sometimes I wonder if a large part of the audience wants a good story with an insanely high-budget production, or just steamy kisses and more explicit scenes.
I’ve been waiting for The Next Prince since 2022, and so far, my expectations have been more than met. It’s frustrating to see some people even criticizing the cast’s acting. Or rather, everything has a limit—criticize whatever you want, but NOT the soundtrack or the production itself (cinematography, costumes, setting, etc). It’s spectacular.
