Korean dramas are a huge disappointment when it comes to converting original material into Dramas.
The biggest problem is propping up the FL into this cool, modern day, kick ass female.
The FL in the Manhua was a darling and had a quiet dignity about her. the one in the drama was in your face, a bit loud mary Sue.
The second biggest problem is neutering ML. The ML is pretty much a guest role in the drama to the only main lead, i.e the FL.

The main lead actors made it bearable.

That psycho deer got me.
Just for that this drama deserves a 10/10.

Damn, the whole scene where she catches the cheat who is having affair with the maid is funny.

First, I have not turned blind eye to any actions of two males leads in the drama. You should read my posts all over again.

Third, through out the drama, the FL has her own thing going on the side with 2ML. It;s a constant theme of the drama.
It was not brotherly love at any point. The ML had to literally kidnap her and set the story straight at the end.
Reminiscing childhood memories and brotherly love! Well, I would be mortified if my brothers are giving me that kind of attention at that age. Your analysis is good but that's not what the drama showed.
It was always intended to be romantic.

It's not just this Cdrama, almost all of them have FL's have these kind of dodgy relationships with me in their dramas...
Do you ever see ML in these Cdramas have such questionable interactions and relationships with other women?

Did the FL stab and her boyfriend and then tried to settle down with his brother? YES she did.

That is basically a trash, a garbage.
Have no idea why a ML who is a king would accept such garbage into his life.

Almost all Cdrama and few Kdrama ML's are disgusting.

10 mins into the first episode, you know they are completely fake.
it's impossible to relate to them at any level. That's how far these ML's are from being men.

these dramas should invent a new gender instead of calling them as 'male lead'

Another same Cdrama in this genre.
The same FL with multiple men close to her
The same ML who won't breathe the same air as other women except FL.

Fun drama but very predictable.

It's funny how cdrama FL's even in period dramas are modern in their behavior
but the ML's even in modern dramas are very shy and reserved.

the 2ML follows here and fakes being her childhood friend. Then they have a cute montage with FL ready confess her love.
The simp ML then interjects and keeps the trash for himself.

It was a decent adaptation.

The Kdrama industry tried it's best to screw it up by inserting their own tropes in it.
Fortunately the leads pull it off and save the drama.

The core story more or less stays true.

The character inconsistencies though are killer.

For starters, the elephant in the room.
The FL gets her memories back when she reaches certain age. Neither the webtoon or the drama never say the FL gets her skills back along with her memories. This is so bad that the FL comes across as a massive fake though out the drama.

In these types of romances Characters can either make or break the drama.
Unfortunately for this one, the changes made to both FL and ML from the webtoon killed it.

I wonder why film makers across the word butcher the source material? I have seen this happen to books and webtoons repeatedly. Why even touch those books and toons when you are NOT being true to the core?
I tried watching 'Wheel of time', it was so unbelievably bad. The characters in that series are not in the books. It got me wondering..why even try to make these books into tv shows? Just write your own original crap and make it instead...

Kingdom is a great zombie horror drama because it has zero romance. Nothing got cringy, the show concentrated on exactly what was needed.

on other hand, 'All of us are dead' suffers because of the romance. It slows the plot, causes character inconsistencies and gets cringy at times. It was a drama I wished the FL did not exist, the 2FL and 3Fl were fantastic though. The FL was a wasted space, existed for love triangle and romance.

Some dramas don't need romance at all.

Except for few most Kdrama romances have been very very crappy in last couple of years.

in fact Kdramas shine when they have zero romance.

The FL is so dumb that her character turns the whole drama into a comedy mid way.
There is dumb and then there is the FL of the drama.

ML is not a supporting character to the story. He is right there at the center of it.
in fact more than the FL, it is the ML who is the emotional core of this story. Here is an young boy who lost his mother and then loses he girl he loved very dearly. It is devastating.
ML does not meet the sister of FL because she reminds him of her a lot. That is explained in 10 seconds in the drama. Very superficial.

My point was that the drama took a central character of the story, i.e the ML and turned him into a supporting one.
They should have added an episode or two and concentrated a bit more on fleshing out the ML and his relationships.

The drama is mixed bag for me at least.
After watching the disaster of another webtoon-drama by Kdrama makers, I thought this would be a similar disaster.
While it does suffer the usual mandatory usual kdrama tropes, the emotional highs are very well done. Both the leads are tremendous actors and they are pretty much negating the butchery done by drama makers.

regarding resolving emotional trauma of ML being resolved poorly, I agree with you to some extent.
I think this has more to do with the drama being just 12 episodes long and focus of the drama is much more on the FL than the ML.

Frankly, the ML is a supporting character to the FL.
The makers of the drama chose to make FL central point of the drama and she has the most screen time.
That leaves ML with less screen time to concentrate on his trauma and bring it to satisfactory conclusion.

This is one of those dramas where the FL is the only main character and everyone else is supporting.

Imagine if FL had a sister and ML gets it on with both them.

Even when ML has not done anything as sick as FL, he is still the bad guy.
Sorry but any person looking at sibling of their lover as a backup is absolute sick person.
Just because she is the FL does not mean she gets a pass.

one does not look at siblings of their partner as potential lovers. Not even in dreams.
That's just sick.

ML has character flaws and can be worked on and corrected.
the FL though is straight up a sick pervert.

FL's are always interesting in Cdramas. This one gave the FL character a lot of fun to play with.
ML's are bland and boring.

Almost all historical Cdramas have free spirited FL and extremely shy ML.
