to be honest, men do most of the heinous crimes by a large margin in the world. but they are also by a large margin are the protectors when needed.
Just look at Ukraine war, I don't see any women rights activists demanding equal front line duty for Ukrainian women. The most by a significant margin fighting in front are men. The most dying are men and the most losing their limbs are men. The women have run off to other countries and found other men.
in domestic scenario, while men do get flack, deservedly so, for abuse. Women on other hand don't. There are many cases of women birthing another man's child & the husband blowing his brains out after finding about it decades later.
Ep 11 has to be one of the best episodes in Kdramas ever.
Every second counted and the senior actors are killing it. I liked the last 4 episodes more than the first 7. The acting, the story line and execution is off the charts.
i also think kanghoon move the plot bc he is the more complex character out of the 3 youngsters imo so his scenes…
the younger 2ML knows who is, he is in control of his powers, but you also know there is something waiting to go off in him, positively or negatively.
While the FL and ML are taking their strides, this guy is already there ready but has nothing to do....it's that quiet boredom or impatience that comes off him.
Out of all characters, he is the one that is not concentrated on. What is his background, what is his motivation etc etc....Hopefully it is good when ever the drama decides to focus on him.
Characters are nicely built, even ones with limited time, like the barber lady, the book store owner etc leave great impression.
While the two youngsters form the core of the plot & the actors do very good job, it's the older generation that moves this show from very good -> great.
Each character's journey makes sense. There is no kdrama jolts in characterization or are they out of place. They are in the middle of a journey, both the older and younger generation.
Best thing about this drama is that there are no unnecessary scenes. Even when the younger FL is saved by the 2ML, it is used as plot device for the younger ML to explain to his mom his insecurities etc. It did not come out jealousy as we first think. It was nicely done.
The villains are well done. Inserting their back stories is a good thing.
Best thing about the drama is not just the ML and FL getting nice screen time but also the bad guy getting lot of screen time. Both the male leads nailed their roles and the script has enough juice in it for these 2 to go to town with their roles.
can they atleast be realistic with weight classes? the first fight of her vs the foreign boxer would never happen.…
or not call the drama as sports.
fiction or fantasy drama would have suited better.
Anyone who has played professional sports would tell you how fake that whole thing looked like. Even in non contact sports, there is a reason why men and women have separate categories.
Serena Williams probably has one of the finest tennis technique in the world but a 500+ ranked male would smoke her. Not because he plays better tennis but because of everything else.
in boxing, weight category matters. It matters tremendously. 2-3 weight class difference, the smaller one would have almost zero chance. here, the FL looked 4-5 weight categories lower, she might as well be throwing pillows at the guy. In reality a high school boxer smaller than her would have knocked her out under a minute.

The idea that we are guests may be true but that does not excuse the crap they pass on in these dramas. Met thousands of Chinese men and women in my life. Chinese men are just like any other man from any other country. These dramas disgrace Chinese men and turn them into weird one dimensional cartoons.
Let's not shy away from voicing when we see something crappy. It just normalizes that crappy thing.
Last thought. Humans are surviving because evolution has made men chase after women. It's the most basic fundamental truth of human survival. Marriage, raising children are by-products of the desperate need to procreate. For that men go to great lengths.
There are some who claim all men are not like that, they are just lying to themselves. All men are like that. Each and every one of them, to the last one. Bill Gates who we all though was a nerdy gentlemen, turned out to be a pervert who was visiting islands throwing group "parties". That is the reality of men.
For Chinese dramas to remove that basic trait of a man completely in most of their dramas is disturbing.
Why should ML end up with a woman who likes some other guy?

10/10 ..that was perfect, the actor, the delivery, the surroundings...just perfect.
A little romance, they are decent.
Romance centric Cdramas, 9 out of 10 times are yuck kind.
this disease is spreading to Kdrama romances as well.
5 out 10 romance Kdramas are now in yuck category.
but, non-romance Kdramas are remarkably superior to Cdramas.
Fantasy Cdramas blow fantasy kdramas by a mile.
