Yup, confirming that romance pretty much screwed another promising Kdrama.

This is just another run of the mill shitty repetitive characters we have seen in almost all Kdrama, the tropes, the characterization, the journey. There is no surprise and the romance genre absolutely massacres the story and characters.
You can't even look at the ML and think, why is this guy with so much happening in his life even cares for a woman who was with another guy? It simply does not make sense and does not add up to the character ark.

His mom just died few hours back. If people don't grasp & give that level of shitty writing where he is jumping in joy, a pass....well, we get shitty Kdramas.

Forget losing his mother, if a man loses his dog, he won't be jumping in joy few hours later, no matter what happens.

People giving a pass to this level of shitty character ark for ML's is exactly why most Kdramas now a days are absolute drivel.
You look at the ML and go...'yuck, that is no man you can relate to'.

Kdramas has a huge ML problem, especially in drama where there is romance.
With romance centered Kdramas this would work to some extent where the central plot is romance & the main character is the FL and ML is a support character there to make the FL happy. i.e, the female audience happy.
Even if the ML in romance genre is a one dimensional character whose existence is to be a support character, it woks for female audiences, because it caters to their fantasy of having to end up with this perfect pure man, even though the FL is very flawed.

BUT

in other genres, for example, the current drama, adding romance with ML as we see in this drama is absolutely destroying the drama.
The ML has so many things happening in his life & the way he jumps for a woman makes zero sense. It's the character inconsistency that kills the drama. How do you reconcile with with the background story of the ML & how the character behaves with FL?

A lot of wonderful Kdramas got screwed by injecting romance into it.

The worst drama with the fatality was 'All of us are dead'.
ML running in ecstasy to his death cause the FL gave him a kiss was literally the worst character assassination in a Kdrama.
ML mother in this drama dies the day before. ML watches his mother dead, turned into a zombie and few hours later he is shown as extremely happy running to his death cause he got a kiss from a girl.
someone make sense of this shit.
It was not just cringe. Every ne who watched that scene would be thinking 'dude, your mom just died few hours earlier and you are running in joy cause you got a kiss from a girl who liked another man'.....

Kdramas in their desire to make every ML simp for FL in every drama forget a simple fact......Every man's special lady in his life is his mother.

This drama would have been a million times better if there was zero romance.

The romance is not just a distraction but is having a major impact, negatively on the main characters.
The ML without his simpy wimpy attitude towards FL would have come across as much more genuine. Now, he is just a fake.

The current trend in Kdramas is that the ML is in love but for the FL it's all about business.
This pathetic trope has killed romance in Kdramas.
It is also killing regular dramas with this kind of romance set up as secondary story line.

the script and the drama covers this in each and every episode.

From episode 1, we see FL and the man she was shagging, the 2ML for every episode.
What we don't see is a mention of ML ever liking any woman except FL.

So, take it up with the writers for writing such crap.

I am only sharing what the drama is showing.

If you have a problem with pure virgin ML
or
with FL shagging other men,
take up your complaints with the writers of the drama, not with the messenger.

ML is a wimpy simpy pure virgin chasing after a women who shagged other men & does not give a flying F about him.

If the ML was shown similar to FL where he shagged other women & is as casual about FL as she is about him, it would have been fine.

but, all Kdrama romances last few years have this loser simpy wimpy pure virgin ML who liked FL for a long time, while the FL would be shagging lot of other men and finally ending with the pure virgin ML who makes her happy...
we have seen this loser ML and FL with other men in almost every Kdrama now a days.

I was talking about how Kdramas pretty much make ML a clown with no backbone.
This is done through the FL in 2 ways.
1. FL's in kdramas slap ML. An insulting slap that pretty much says sit the f down
2. Fl's in kdramas use filthy words to abuse ML. words like b@stard, Ahole are very commonly used.

Both these methods are used by FL's to pretty much cuck the ML in these dramas.

MY POINT WAS, you don't see ML slapping the FL or calling them as wh0res or K*unts. It never happens.
I am not asking for ML to abuse or thrash the FL's.
I am only pointing to the disgusting trend in Kdramas where they use FL to pretty much dehumanize the ML's

Another Kdrama with good potential getting neutered by romance.

Sorry but the 2 male leads are just unwatchable.
Their simping is just...yuck.
Worse, they don't resemble men in real world.
Not sure which planet these male leads belong to, it's definitely not earth.

These Kdrama romances should stop projecting the Male lead as 'main lead'.
These men are just supporting characters the only main lead in these dramas, the FL.

The male leads in these dramas are just dildos with no background, character growth and has nothing going on for them.

in every Kdrama romance the only thing a ML does is be in love with FL and just wait for her get tired of shagging other men come back to him.

Another Cdrama and another Spineless wimpy simpy clown of a ML.

delivers what it promises.
Excellent action pieces with ample gore.

Just the right amount of episodes as well, it did not overstay it's welcome, stuck to the plot and delivered it without the usual shit a lot of other Kdrama shove in to prolong the run time and episodes.

1. Potato Lab
2. My Dearest Nemesis

Both dramas show FL using absolutely filthy abuses on ML, b@stard and A**hole used repeatedly.
In fact in Potato Lab, the abuses are even by FL's female friends.

There is a difference between violence as part of story, it is fine & abuse, which is NOT fine.
Slapping, punching and abuses are NOT part of story especially when they are one way street from FL to ML in kdramas.

There are dramas where FL's do a lot worse but slapping and calling someone a b@stard has a high level disrespect,
A similar example for FL would be if ML called her a wh0re or slapped her in face in front of all and laughed. That's the kind of stuff I am talking about, stuff which a lot of Kdrama FL's do to ML's in a lot of Kdramas.

There is a difference between killing vs Slapping FL across the face or calling her a wh0re or Kunt.
I am not talking about treating each other badly. FL's do far worse to the ML including this drama where the FL treats the ML like a bug,

I am talking thrashing, like slapping across the face, punching them until they bleed or abusing them using words like wh0re or kunt.
FL's do this all the time to ML's in many Kdramas.
This is basically to show dominance, insulting, demeaning and show ML as a wimp.

in Korea Odyssey, the ML is never mean to FL. It was something he had to do until he realizes there is another way

in none of these dramas does the ML thrash or abuse the FL.
And I have watched most of them.
