After watching few Cdramas and Kdramas, I find celebration of drinking culture absolutely revolting. If real life…
No one is talking about pubbing and drinking. That is normal.
And that's not what I am talking about here. - office drinking, pressure to drink until you pass out - Business drinking until you don't remember how you ended up in a dustbin - College parties drinking - Friends drinking until they pass out.
In all the above situations, these dramas depict as if it it's the norm and 'passing out' drinking is not a big deal, where as it is a big deal if you are regularly out of your rockers binging.
Alcohol is absolutely fatal in many ways if excessively consumed. Cdramas and Kdramas practically celebrate drinking culture (not talking about pubbing here) even when people are knocked out of their brains. Worse in these dramas the parents bring hangover soup - instead of having a nice chat about responsible drinking.
As an example, if my boss or business partner, friends or elder forces me to drink, there will be consequences. In these dramas all these situations play out without any real consequences to people in power forcing others to drink.
That is the reason I asked if what is depicted in dramas happens in real life.
After watching few Cdramas and Kdramas, I find celebration of drinking culture absolutely revolting.
If real life drinking culture in these two countries is anywhere near to how they depict in dramas, it is shocking that as a society that kind of a thing is acceptable. Let alone the health hazards, the consequences of passing out at random place and to be relying on random strangers to get home is beyond normal.
What's more shocking is parents, partners, friends and colleagues, instead of intervening encourage more drinking.

There is nothing more satisfying than a man chasing the girl he loves. It ticks all the boxes to make a swoon worthy romance.
In this, the FL is chasing the ML and right off the bat, there is a bit of sadness on how tough the girl has it while chasing the guy she likes. If the situation were reversed, i would be enjoying the chase by ML though. Wonder if we have conditioned to like a man chasing a woman & the reverse is not that appetizing to watch!
I was contemplating if i should start on this drama. Watched some snippets yeah.. decided to give it a go. I m…
In most Cdramas, the ML are exactly how you don't want the FL in this drama to be. ML are clingy, cuckold, will do anything and everything for the FL, while the FL would be having a life outside of ML.
This is probably the first Cdrama where the ML and FL roles have been reversed. the ML even has an ex in this drama. usually it's the FL who would have an ex and a male friend/brother who loved her for years and the ML who would sacrifice everything for her.
Even though some may not like it, I find this drama to be refreshing simply because it is different from most Cdramas where ML is the one chasing FL along with a dozen guys.
Thank goodness I read this because I knew I dropped it for a reason. I watched the first episode and quickly felt…
If Nirvana on Fire is a gem, the current crop of Cdramas are Pile of Crap.
It's rare to find a drama as good as Nirvana on Fire anywhere. It shined because it was NOT a romance drama. I am pretty convinced at this point Cdrama writers are pretty bad at doing romance dramas barring few exceptional dramas here and there.
Most Cdrama romance dramas end up being a cringy crap fest & times it gets so bad that that you might mistake the plot lines being copied from Jerrry Springer show. Had misfortune of watching a drama called Dr Cutie. By the end you could rename the drama as 'My girlfriend stabbed me and ran off with my brother'.
A minor gripe around the whole abortion thing. Not debating the issues the around abortion but dad has the right to know. Finding it later would be a relationship killer for sure.
- FL quickly turns into dumb and stupid - ML turns into Simp
I understand the trope of a girl taming an Alpha male. It is probably sells for female viewers who want to watch a normal girl tame a very successful/powerful/highly educated Alpha male and become his only weakness. These sort of story lines are what most romances are based upon since the target audiences relish these ones.
All Cdramas have Male Lead with some of these characteristics but introduce fatal weaknesses. The Male leads are neutered at the altar to flesh out the FL. The Cdrama Male Leads are never Alphas to begin with & after meeting the FL they turn into Cuckold and simp the FL to the extent you begin to wonder WTF you are watching.
Sorry to say but Kdrama Romances tend to have much better and well rounded characters. If only Cdramas spend more money on stories than repeat the same shitty ML and FL in each and every drama.
How ironic it is, because of someone having prejudice against the FL for not conceding to ML affection, are rating…
I would have liked this drama if the ML and FL did not end up together and ended up with some one else. They had a beautiful friendship and that was enough to make the drama pretty good without the horrendous last few episodes.
Leads don't need to reciprocate feelings for a drama to be good. This drama had bad few episodes at the end in spite of the fact that the leads got together.
must say, FL is a doll, absolutely pretty & is pretty good doing comedy. Need to check her other dramas. ML on other hand is also pretty (not a complement) and looks a bit stiff. not sure if it's the character he is playing or it's his acting chops at this point.
Best thing about this drama is the FL's family. They were absolute hoot and carried the show.
The Worst thing about this drama is FL and ML.
This was no strong FL. People think being an obnoxious princes who does as she pleases repeatedly without thinking of consequences as strong. That is not strong, that's just being an arrogant princes drunk on power who knows she can get away with murder. The ML on the other hand starts off decent and after falling in love turns into complete cuckold. In the second half it was hard watching how simp the ML turns into.
usually you want the FL and ML make each other into better versions of themselves. This is one drama where they actually become worse versions, if that is even possible.
Still a pretty enjoyable drama as it contains absolutely hilarious scenes sprinkled in each and every episode. Worth watching just for the FL family.
Finally managed to finish this, mercy of FF button.
It was funny as hell in first half and then drops off steeply and never recovers. The most disturbing thing in this drama is it being yet another Cdrama, where the ML is basically emasculated to the point where you begin to wonder if he is indeed a man. Thank god for the FL, otherwise I would have mistaken the ML to be a Eunuch.
Title should have been 'my fked up life'
This one has 4 blokes in it...at least.
That is normal.

Is that how reality is in these two countries?
He does not deserve the FL. Hope the writers put the ML through hell before he gets the girl back.

Will watch Joy of Life based on your recommendation.
For one drama like above, it seems like there are 20 dramas that are like 'junk food'.
It's not bad eating junk food now and then.

Worth every episode.

It just went down steeply around episode 20 when it turned into a teenage love Pentagon & looks like it does not recover from that.
The way the show writers went about the ending does not convince me FL deserves the ML.
It all boils down my original point - Lazy Writing.
The writers built ML and FL friendship wonderfully well & when the relationship needed to evolve, they took a massive shit on the show.
