This is such a good show. I recommended them to people who don't typically enjoy kdrama, and they were hooked right after three episodes~!!!!! I've seen this at least three times and I cry of joy every single time.
LOL. I have no faith in a good adaptation of this.
A live-action adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul needs Hollywood level CGI AND brilliant actors in order to show the complex philosophies, tragedies, and hardcore fighting scenes. And from what I know about typical film adaptations, not much good will happen.
I will watch it with very little expectations. lol.
The most overrated drama ever. There's nothing special in it.
Yeah. I just finished episode 7, and it's been so boring I don't want to keep watching. There were only 4 laugh out loud moments from the boys' side. I teared up once.
I really do NOT like the time skips that go back and forth. It's interesting for a while, but afterwards it starts annoying me, big time. I found the main girl to be insufferably violent towards people. Ripping out someone's (aka love interest's) hair? Come on, it's about time that isn't used for comedy anymore.
Great article, IwahashiGirl. 49 Days was my gateway Asian drama, and I pretty much watched only Korean dramas…
I think this is the main reason why I personally haven't gotten into j-drama (except Gokusen). I am a huge manga reader, so I get hyped every time I see Japanese live action of a manga. Any manga.
But the acting always lets me down. Death Note. Switch Girl. Ouran High School Host Club. The Flower We Saw That Day. Etc. Somehow none of these are well translated into live action, imo. Something about the acting always ends up making me annoyed. The shows try too hard to imitate the comedic anime facial expressions/scenes, but real life doesn't work that way. So it comes out unnatural to me. Some Korean and Taiwanese dramas also do this, and i can't stand those either, most of the time.
I want to like jdrama. I really really do.
Kimi wa Petto and Gokusen are the only two shows I've been able to connect to without feeling disconnected due to the exaggerated acting.
Ack. This was WAY too over the top in terms of exaggerated emotions. The main guy is stiff like a cardboard trying to be cool, and the girl is out of her mind. I guess opposites attract.
The main male lead's bad acting actually makes the show even funnier. He reminds me of all the actual korean dramas with cringeworthy male leads. HAHAHAHA Ahhhh I love this.
This Drama really made me like crazy, I was like dying waiting a week to come. I was about to drop this at first,…
I agree with you! It's super sad, but I love this drama. However, please spoiler tag your comment because there are parts in the 2nd paragraph that a new watcher would not know
I really liked this one, even though I usually don't watch melodramas. This one had the BEST couple chemistry ever---they are so natural with each other it's adorable.
I really liked some of the side characters though.
