The end note said he was too scared, and he changed it with what he actually said once he ran after him. The bell and the Peach (?) can sodas indicate that they're together now

Yes and no. The husband divorces her for another woman, which turns out to be exactly what the female lead wanted. Husband kills his new wife "to preserve their love forever" but gets stopped by female lead before he can kill himself. The writer she used as a plot device in her marriage, finds out what she did (lured the woman intentionally into death), and he insists she turn herself in. In the end, we learn about what happened in the past, that everyone was a villain, husband goes to jail and female lead turns herself in with the writer besides her.
