Really enjoyed this one and the cinematography was beautiful! I do think the last two episodes where very rushed and the drama could have benefited from an extra episode of two.
I feel like if you haven't seen the korean version you'll be kind of confused with this one. It hits all the major plot points but doesn't flesh out many of the characters or events. I was pretty underwhelmed with the acting other than the FL who did an okay job. It's hard to give depth to characters when they cram so much content into twelve short episodes.
Overall I really enjoyed this. I do think it suffered from being too long and adding way to many mini-plots. Once Kelei actually revealed himself as Mi Ka's savoir from years earlier, the show started to lose it's way.
My biggest issue of the whole show is that Shu Wenbo is an awfully written character. They made him so dense that it was actually not fun to watch the interactions of the 2FL and 2ML. Xia deserved better. He spent the whole show not communicating his feeling and then they went from professing to marriage in the span of 40 minutes. yikes
I started watching this because CSY is such a great actress! However, I'm not a fan of the show's writing. I like the overall message about the dangers of alcohol, it's definitely an issue for many. The show is struggling to find a balance between comedy and the harsh realities of alcoholism. Also the ML father plot-line seems out-of-place compared to the rest of the show
I will continue watching it all the way through because i want to see 2FL be happy
I'm getting concerned they wont have enough time to resolve all the plot points. Especially since the episode 11 preview makes it seem like new story-lines are being opened up.
Maybe I'm just tired of the overly evil grandmother trope, or perhaps I don't find the supporting cast all that entertaining, but I've just slowly been losing interest in this drama. A simple story is not a bad thing, but we're 75% through the show and I feel like not a lot has happened.
Much like the male lead, this show is nearly flawless—there’s little to criticize. Yet at the same time, something…
I think it's hard to give Eun Ho character development because, outside of being a good secretary and a good father, he didn't have much personality. There was nothing to improve since he was so good at his one role in the show.
I wish he had been a more well-rounded character, like Ji Yun.
I wish that they fleshed out some of the backstory a bit more. I think cutting this down to 12 episodes caused the story to suffer.
Exploring Jeong Hoon's brother and how his death affected that whole family would have probably given us more insight on the chairman's actions. I also think it would have helped to flesh out Hye Jin a bit more other than just her being vindictive towards Ji Yun. I was confused as to why Hye Jin truly hated the FL to the extent she did. I would have really enjoyed if the motives of these two antagonists were explored a bit more. They both ended up being such one-dimensional villains.
Even our ML was pretty one-dimensional. He was a great secretary and a good father, and that was about it. FL made such a wonderful and inspiring transformation and the ML just seemed to not change at all during the show. Struck me as odd.
That being said, I love that this drama had mature leads that could actually communicate! While the show used a lot of typical kdrama cliches, they moved through them much quicker than usual. I think that is truly the strength of Love Scout and rank this pretty highly because they didn't fall into the same traps as other main couple's usually do.
The second couple was also very adorable, love them!
I think what carried this show for me was the chemistry and story-line of the second couple. They both did great. In contrast, I felt that the dynamic between the two actual leads wasn't enjoyable. I've seen some of their other stuff and enjoyed them in those roles, perhaps it was the writing of this one. Felt this was a painfully average, and at the end rushed, show.
Episode 11 wow! All the passive aggressiveness my boy Natsu was getting from everyone has reached a tipping point…
Agreed. It does make sense why they all feel the way they do. All the conflict was inevitable. However, I think it's strange that this is all coming to a head in episode 11. With only one episode left I don't see how they resolve all the plot-points they introduced. Feels rushed all the sudden.
I had hoped for a happy ending but I'm actually pretty confused as to where this final episode is going to take us.
so she should just leave Umi with the guilt of her being born is the reason Natsu and Yayori can't be together?
I think both can be true. It's painful for Natsu to have Yayoi remain in his life but not want to be with him. And also true that Yayoi being in Umi's life as a friend is beneficial towards Umi.
I just feel really bad for Natsu. All these characters have really not treated him well at all. I think he has reacted pretty well to this new-found responsibility. The fact that Yayoi wants to stay in Umi's life as her friend but not with Natsu has to be pretty painful for him. Hoping there is a happy ending for everyone.
I absolutely loved the first half of this drama, however the unnecessary harshness towards Natsu has soured my opinion a bit.
Great drama. The only confusing part of the entire show was the actress that played young Sang Zhi. She does not look 14 at all in the first few episodes and it's really hard to imagine the FL and ML are only 5 years apart age-wise.
As someone who doesn't like dogs very much, I thought this kdrama had an interesting premise. The first half of the show felt like a cutesy romance/comedy which i enjoyed. When the vibe switched to historical/supernatural (second half) I think the show suffered a lot. Especially those last few episodes.

It's lacking a spark imo
